I hate raiding. I wish I could have max level gear progression just doing solo questing or group stuff in the open world. But I can’t because this is a sort of old school MMORPG.
You know what I do?
I deal with it without asking for the game to be bent to my own personal desires.
I suggest you do the same.

How about you turn off the exp boost and shut the f up your stupid “no changes classic” mentality wont get you anywhere the only reason SOD has so many people now is beacause of the retail players the classic community is dead 2k people max look at era servers
It seems we have a new competitor for being the biggest moron on this forum. You have my vote, for sure.
To topic: Leveling with random WPVP is the most fun part of the game. No doubt.
Because of no progression lil bro. SoD is progression yet the yes or no to leveling has nothing to do with it. leveling is part of it, so is world pvp and engaging with people in game. Go back to retail where everything is insant. bye bye, you wont be missed
Go back to ERA looser and if you are such a good PVPer where are you on retail? Oh right you are a 50year old that has a fried out brain and can only press 2 buttons max, you truly are a god in pvp
I don’t play era nor retail anymore you nerd. Go on keep crying and Thank God Im not near anything close to 50 in a looong time. Im prob younger than you lmao while you keep crying here about lvling in a game called world of warcraft. WORLD. You’re probably getting ganked all the time haha thats why you going personal on the pvp stuff! Just l2p lil bro
I haven’t been playing much lately, mostly because the battlenet client has been really buggy, it takes several minutes after pressing the play button for the game to appear and I have no idea why, it has been like this for a while now.
You’ve been gone for years and presumably not experienced how WoW have been destroyed from the most beautiful game to the monstrosity that it is right now - a kind of lobby game-mmo where people just hang around in the cities waiting to pop the queue.
FFW til today. Blizz finally made something for old schoolers after years of hoping, and here you lot are, starting the same whinging like we seen over and over on the forums over the years. You got your game , it’s called WoW Dragonflight. Just pop over there- you can even buy a max level character, or near max level. The world is dead. No more levelling. Enjoy!
I know fun is subjective, but to me, leveling a toon is not fun, it’s boring slog to reach max level and then you can play the game. If this game had a fun story or something to keep me interested while I leveled, maybe I would enjoy it and level one of each class, but as it is, that would be masochistic as hell, even at 2X speed. This is why leveling in SWTOR was fun, but that game had the opposite problem, there was barely anything to do at end game, so people quit or rolled another character, because leveling was fun, the class stories are interesting, except the Jedi Consular, that one is boring, but not as boring as WoW leveling though. And since the game has 10X XP if you are a subscriber, you over level the content pretty quickly and even with the level scaling, it doesn’t matter.
And if you are wondering why I’m on here and not playing that game instead, I just told you the reason. I could roll my 20th character and play a story again, but I don’t feel like it. so yeah, a game without any cutscenes whatsoever during leveling from 1-40 is utterly dull and I consider it a needless grind to get to the fun part of the game.
OK. I get what you say and to be fair you did not ask for a more enticing story, you asked to get faster to max level. You want to change (yet another) wow for us who enjoy the old school style. Where should we go then? Classic vanilla is a 20 year old game, so no. This gives a refreshing update without taking away the world play.
I’ve played Dragonflight and it was like pulling teeth. I hated it.
I don’t give a yota about raiding but hoping for a return of Dungeons that have their own progress with Dungeon sets etc. Would be fun with more engaging world play and story, for example, more Class specific content, so if you’re a Rogue, you really feel like you belong to the exclusive group,
Why not give constructive criticism/ ideas instead of calling for a butchering of the game?
SoD is the classic version in which I’ve enjoyed levelling the least, can’t put finger on why really. I played rogue to 40 only. Maybe I’ve just done it enough times. Btw are there any info whether our characters will be lost when the season comes to an end? I seem to remember blizzard stated transfer to Era won’t be possible.
Season will lasts at least one more year from now on
just go play retail and buy a boost
I wholeheartedly agree!
(To be fair I suspect the OP was intentionally cheeky.)
That said… how will this work in later phases?
This is the Season of Discovery, where Blizzard is discovering the attitude of players.
What really concerns me, is what remains of SoD if leveling is stripped away.
One raid, with crippled specs and some new abilities?
Because from BC onward at least we had a bunch of dungeons, dailies, etc.
And for some time now, the whole world is yours, scaled.
Equally so you can rush to max or even use a boost.
And the whole need for quick leveling is inflated by “parse during launch week or stay behind” culture. A bit troublesome for new characters.
I feel there is a conflict…
Classic era is perfectly fine place to enjoy classic things.
BC / WLK is a slightly smoother version, also offering RDF (albeit inferior, too easy).
What is SoD?
My answer would be the new raid + pvp, and so leveling is just a big chore.
(And I guess you know I always argue I love fiddling in the world.)
I previously thought that SoD is an absolute FOMO style, for the fresh experience.
Would it be silly for new characters today be created at 25, as if they played P1?
(Professions learned at 150, 12 runes known, level 15 two-stat green gear.)
More importantly, level 40, 225, etc. with P3.
So much negativity, you should really, really stop playing the game.
