If you don’t have curve yet you can’t really complain that you cannot join groups who want to fast clear the content on their alts or mains for whatever reason. Even if the content is “easy” now, a group of mythic raiders doing HC on their alts will not play the same as a full group of people who never stepped into HC.
I agree with everything you said except Mogs before Logs, jeez
I find it rather hilarious when I see someone ask for curve achievement, then right underneath someone is selling curve achievements. Just simply defeats the purpose of wanting curve to begin with.
Sure, you were “there” when the boss went down. But for all they know, you were setting out little brown submarines IRL while being floor ornament in-game.
Yes I know there has been measurements on “skills” before for getting into raids, but at least the old method of “come to bank for inspect” had some merits to it. The gear on you, had to come from somewhere. And the better the gear, the better indication that you’d seen the inside of a few difficult places. Telling a bit more of a story than that infernal “Curve” achievement that tells absolutely nothing.
When I make a group for a raid, it’s my right to only invite people who have cleared the raid already, if I want to. You really can’t tell others who to invite.
Before curve existed, people just checked your armory to see your raid-progress. Before armory existed, they asked you to go to a meeting spot to inspect your character’s gear.
Curve is a nice “I have been there” achievement. It doesn’t imply difficulty. Just experience.
group leaders make the rules. Apply to a different group or make your own (with your own rules).
Possibly but most people want a smooth run so they think people having curve will do that. In my experience it wont.
Pugging HC atm is a miserable experience. Like 1/5 pug groups I join manages to actually kill a boss. These are all curve required groups, the ones that don’t ask for curve have a 100% fail rate in my experience.
This isn’t my main btw just incase someone comments on progress.
I used to do it from Mid MoP to Antorus. I just CBA with the wait to get a group then get players who dont stand in bad.
I will say the same thing I have said at similar posts in the past. Make your own group and invite whoever you want. I have curve on 3 different chars. All 3 I formed my own group. Who the leader invites is up to him. If he wants cutting edge players to raid lfr it’s his choice.
pugging in wow has always and always will be the worst way to play the game.
The thing i hate about pugging is the 3rd party “Tools” such as : Warcraftlogs, Raiderio etc stuff like this ruin the game for the average player, and makes it hard for them to progress aswell…
Haha cause thats it what everyone does in pugs.
So you expect people to use your time on you even though you maybe didnt even read the boss abilities?
Maybe you care and you always watch videos and learn, but trust me, most people just want the loot and they dont give a about learning or the group.
Raiderio and stuff exist for a reason: people dont want to take 6 hours to kill a boss. (And sometimes it still takes that amount of time even with rio)
I don’t know what the point is in curve if you can just buy last boss kill for it. Hell I’ve seen it going around for… 50-60k on trade chat.
That’s like 1 hour of gold farming.
Becouse it shows also the date of when you earned it.
The popularity of raider.io shows why it was needed though: the non-existing learning effort of the average WoW player when doing new content.
Every group I’ve been in kills at least Maut, Skitra and Wrathion. A lot of people leave after maut or skitra. If they go hivemind after that it’s 50/50 depending on if people actually interrupt or not if we kill it. Then we like 25/75 that we kill raden. If we go xanesh, the group 100% falls apart after like 2-3 tries.
Didn’t blizzard make an exception for this pre-patch that let’s you obtain AOTC and CE until launch?
You can only get the AOTC mount until launch but not the achievement itself.
Aha I see then.
I’m pretty sure the raider io addon displays your current raid progress aswell? (The bosses you’ve killed)
Do yourself a favor and never join pugs unless they are semi guild pugs.
Most of the time they are lead by slackers who want to be carried
