I appreciate that the dev team might be making up their mind about the direction of the game. That is all fine in my opinion. Yet I do not understand how it is possible to justify hiding changes and not allowing testing for features.
Not only Beta but also PTR testing had features excluded that later came with the Live game and were objectively dysfunctional. A range of undocumented changes were not communicated only to be published on 3rd party websites both for 8.0 and 8.1 patch releases.
Communicating with the players has been poorest for a long time.
I fear that our actions in the game are directed by changes in the game purely to increase “participation time” in certain activities. Participation time should increase because a feature is fun, not because it takes longer by stealth design changes.
I think/speculate that the game would also benefit more from number of participants instead of fewer participants spending longer time to complete said activity.
Please note I am not trying to be harsh, I am simply looking for clear answers as a customer/consumer of your product so my trust can be restored instead of abandoning the game without conversing.
Why did you break the CrossRP addon and prevented RPers from communing cross-faction?
Toxicity was never an issue and it brought thousands of people together. Role Players need to talk to each other to RP, in war more than ever.

WIll you consider doing solo queue for mythic+?
Without an automatic queue, me and many other people just won’t participate, because the social dance takes too long.
If you consider the social dance essential to an MMO, fine, but be aware that it has as many unattractive and hostile things associated with it, as it has good things, and that’s why people don’t bother. Sites like Raider .io just close the doors of mythic+ before tons of people, and exacerbate every slight imbalance. Given that WoW is never balanced very well, this is just a doom spell.
If you had a queue where you could queue solo under some automatic limits - say, you can only queue for mythic +5 if you successfully completed mythic +4 and / or you have X ilvl - most of the issues associated with the social dance would be solved, and there would be many more people participating. Those who want to queue manually in a manually constructed group would still be able to do so as well. Win-win?

PVP:
Are there any plans to start releasing PVP balancing fixes more often? Because it really harms the game when you have few classes that does 3 times more damage than others just because classes are OP, and they get free rating.
I’m not even sure why we are posting these, we all know they only answer US questions and anything difficult or controversial won’t be answered.

After 8.1 we have seen some addons stop working such as the beloved cross rp. Where the addon can no longer be used due to it not being able to translate the community chat into /s in game. Have you plans to fix this issue?

We are many who are affected by this and this mod increased the experience of rolepelay in WoW greatly! This has gathered the community tighter and we really need this mod to fuction in many ways

Hello!
I want to know why exactly you wouldn’t allow addons like Cross-RP?
It just gave really much to the whole RP community there are many groups who were build to be neutral and enjoy doing that.
My guild for an example is based on beeing neutral, we have a monthly market (mostly in pandaria which is a neutral continent) with really much people from alliance and horde.
It is hard to RP only on horde side on my server since 74-76% of the server is alliance.
There isn’t only my small guild there are big groups on my server, with really much people who are all into the neutral RP.
If you don’t want us to do crossfaction RP you shouldn’t create neutral factions! (Champions of Azeroth, Cenarian circle, the earthen ring farseer, Argent tournament, etc.)
Would love to hear something about that.
Have a good day!

Elves can speak across factions with Thalassian, Demonic and Darnassian. Pandarens can use Pandaren. This is a progress that the RP community has heartily embraced and been grateful for, as it allows us to create nuanced stories of war and adventures.
Acrona recorded this video of Uldum Nights. We were over 250 players at this event. This is what we can do when we’re able to communicate and have fun!
Would there be any chance that RP servers gets switch on/off option for cross-faction communication, just as we have for enabling/disabling Warmode?

Like Siavash and many others, I too see that the addon Cross RP is not working anymore.
This mod truely gave the rp community a chance to come together cross-faction for some meaningful and great roleplay and events. Before hand, often players would ignore each other due to language barrier of the game, but now they could actually read each other profiles from other great roleplaying mods and have an deeply immessive rp experience, that truely was a delight.
This mod is critical for the roleplayers within this game and has become a corner stone for roleplay community like Total RP 3 and other addon tools for roleplaying.
Cross RP is insanely beneficial to roleplaying community and its ability to truely connect and have a great time cross faction. Many arears like Booty Bay and Ratchet has become social hubs for roleplaying now, while this mod was working, and has brought the possiblity for Battle of Azeroth to truely take place amongst the roleplaying community too.

Hello Ion! Big fan of Warcraft, been playing since 2005.
My question is following:
As a person who enjoys the Roleplay part of the game and has subscription mainly to Roleplay, why are addons such as Cross-RP being targeted so they do not work anymore?

Hello Ion and crew - having played since 2006 and having seen many features come and go, easily the most detrimental removal for me has been the addon-read-from-communities feature that the Cross RP addon relied on.
To just take some very rough and unofficial data, we set up a community for Cross RP as part of the roleplaying campaign that I hosted a few weeks back, seeing as the “main” hub of our realm was full (at 1000 accounts). Before the week-long campaign was through, we’d totalled a full 300 players in the community and making use of the Cross RP addon to add additional flavour and engaging interactions to their roleplay.
Based on that, my question is: Is there any plan to implement similar features to enable Crossfaction roleplaying while also respecting the “no griefing” clause in the future? If no, is it possible that the decision to render Cross RP useless will be reconsidered?

Yeah, you can follow Sylvanas, just faction change to undead You are not a worthy nelf and druid anyways as it seems. Go away!
With 8.1 now live why are there so many little changes that we learn through at a later point? You guys tried to improve your communication, but so far we got patch notes that are incomplete.
An example is the azerite knowledge catch up system that stopped working till season 2 starts, which the warcraft twitter informed us about after the patch went live and a sharp player noticed that the required azerite for a new level didn’t go down.
How do you guys decide what will make the patch notes and what will be left behind for players to find out later on? And what are your plans to improve communication in the future?
BFA seems to have a distinct mismatch between content and reward types, pvp providing important pve rewards, solo content providing rewards mostly relevant to group play, etc.
is this intentional, or an unintended side-effect?
Warcraft III Reforged question
Is there going to be Illidan vs Arthas proper cinematic? I remember that some member of art team said that they would’ve love to do it if there was more time during The Frozen Throne development.
Why have addons been blocked from the Bnet Communities, thereby destroying the functionality of addons like CrossRP?
CrossRP is an amazing addon that breathed new life into WoW roleplay. It brought a feature to the game that I and many other roleplayers have wanted since the days of Vanilla. The removal of its functionality is devastating to the RP communities that have already grown around it in the short time it’s been around. =(

And if you do not have plans to fix this issue. Can you please explain in some detail why? As an RPer who has elected to follow Magni, the community of people I run has been split in half and removed the main reason we pay the subscription fee.

Why timegate the raid while we waited months for an update?
I’m in much the same boat. I’ve been having a lot of trouble justifying the sub fee already given how little there is in BfA for me. If this isn’t addressed it will probably seal the deal for me too.
