if they restore it, this is the last thing they should do. I’d dig it as an RP hub, but with an AH you can be sure we get another Trade District/Valley of Strength where it’s just a bunch of zoomers making the area uninhabitable for RP

Sure they faced a similar situation and it wasn’t Genn’s best idea to listen Arugal’s advice, like it wasn’t Gelbin’s best idea to listen Thermaplug’s, but at least he never destroyed his own kingdom!

Just because mission tables send a handful of gased masked dudes there doesn’t mean it will ever be used again.
The one upside to the nuking of Gilneas is it instantly invalidated all the… well, “RP” that was going on there after Cata came out. Anyone else remember the noble guild civil war? Or the piles and piles of pack guilds? I member… I wish I didn’t.

Sadly I was long gone after witnessing a lv58 worgen DK puppy sipping noggenfogger. I just remember about twenty guilds fighting over who got to use Greymane Manor IC, and I heard that right before Blizzard nuked Gilneas a bunch of noble guilds got into a big scrap (Ignoring the forsaken literally on the doorstep I guess).
I honestly suspect someone at Blizz saw the absolute state of RP there and decided “We have to stop this” and did us all a favour. Just a shame now the worgen fad has largely passed they don’t just say it’s all good now.

Currently, and i will speak only from the perspective of our community that RP-s in Gilneas, it is abandoned by civilian population and only military units stay in there, trying to bring some semblence of order to it, to prevent Forsaken from entering it and DK-s doing their insidious acts, quell the spider infestations, etc.
Officialy, unfortunately, there is no other info aside from what was all ready written above.

I consider myself an eternal guardian of the Gilnean People and Gilneas… (if they love it or not! Hundreds of lives have been taken by my hands. I am a protector of Gilneas but my vigilance comes with a price… )
Actually, we ARE having issues with some DK-s RP-ing graverobbing and taking them away to Acherus. We have, so far, had two skirmishes with them, once they managed to grab the bodies, last time we actually managed to kill one of them (she wanted to get rid of the char, so it was convenient for both sides)
All in all, its damn busy in Gilneas ever since we formed the community. Once RL stops being a nuisance, we will move on with even greater vigor with more events and happenings.
I’ll be… ‘‘borrowing’’… some corpses there tonight, I’ll totally give it back.
