is it selecting the gpu or is it runing on ur cpu?
I don’t think the 5900x has an onboard GPU, the 5800x definitely doesn’t anyway.
funny thing was a dungeon was using 70% GPU out in the open work it is 85/90% useage
Iirc the only models of the AMD 5000 series CPUs with onboard graphics were the APUs (models end with a g) so you would be right there.
Same deal. The new dungeons run like trash, I never had issues like this with the game in BfA or SL with the same rig. I’ve ruled out all other possible causes so I can only conclude that this is a problem with the game’s optimization (or lack thereof).
In older dungeons you could pull the entire instance and maintain smooth 90+ FPS. In the new dungeons, if you pull more than 2 packs you’ll tank down to 30 FPS or worse.
I’ll be honest with you, I don’t find resolution to affect fps much at all. My FPS seems to barely budge (5-10 fps difference max) when setting resolution scaling from 100% to 200% (3440x1440 → 6880x2880). I’m on a 2080s.
Edit: Did a bit more testing, and the performance hit seems to be very inconsistent depending on the situation. But aside from some of the more demanding situations, it seems fine.
I got a massive FPS increase in raids by disabling friendly nameplates with Shift+V, but that may have been fixed already, and was probably related to an addon.
I disabled all addons before trying it right now just to remove them as a variable and nameplates don’t appear to have a noticeable effect for me. I can see an addon being an issue in your case though, yeah.
Zygor guides will do this, so will having all the weakaura archives/extras enabled in the addon list (not the core).
Then I heard turning sound channels down to minimum @ 20 helps.
games not optimised, causes my GPU fans to go crazy, certain areas in the world are very bad. in cataclysm there was an area inside a water dungeon with a tube that whenever I walked through it, I would get 1fps, this was fixed 5 years later
