Mage Tower Comeback is Nonsense

Yes, people losing and lost motivation because there are things but you are no longer able to get them and obtain them.

I also dislike and lost motivation to play because things are no longer available. Feels like you never can complete your character as some guys already did and playing just for pleasure.

Not talking exclusively about xmog items. But mounts/titles/achiements ect. including xmog.

dont worry, midway next expantion when drough comes, the artifact skins will return i bet

But it IS lacking in worthwhile solo content.

Time gated rewards are time gated, I also don’t like that I can’t get a Swift Nether Drake, too bad. The Mage Tower offers some cool transmog set recolours and a great challenge, it’s great content given someone could realistically spend a long time just working towards gearsets and alts to defeat the challenges to eventually get the mount.

I don’t think I will get the mount because I’ve never played a healing class and never desired to, but I’m not complaining about that either. I’ve only done the Fury Warrior challenge in Timewalking so far, I defeated it on my 3rd try with a really messy pull, which is a LOT easier than it was when I did it in Legion.

Very ugly, imo. So to me: Worthless.

Irritation and frustration imo.

How does THAT make it great?
Working extremely long and hard, learning to play at least 3 different classes, maybe even farming old gear, buying consumables… And for what? Extremely ugly transmogs and a mount that fits with 1, maybe 2 classes.

The risk/reward factor is completely off with this version of the tower.

In my opinion everything in WoW should always be avaliable and aquireable.

Its just a weird disincentive for new players. If everything that was removed from the game were to come back, its not like new players would receive them for free. Obtaining mounts, pets, tmogs etc. took time and skill, which would be required from the new players as well.

So I simply can’t see the “negatives” of such a move other than hurting a few WoW addicts’ ego.

Imo it is good to have sets that is later no longer optainable later. It gives players goal to try to get what they want.
There is many cool items that i cant get, but it is nice to look at someone with that item.
To ppl calling mt sets ugly, it is only your opinion. It is 100% impossible job to make sets that everyone likes. Dont like it, then dont get it.

I would like to have cloudsong glaive back in game simply because it’s the best looking polearm in my opinion
And they don’t need to do the same they can do different color but at least big LIKE they did with bear
or MOP CM sets
I would do many weird things for that polearm trust me

I wouldn’t asked for this but it’s only POLEARM in game that sits on my back EPIC like that
i tried so many of them and there is black ice coming close but game is lacking this kinds of polearms

Ahh I forgot the part where Blizzard were forcing you to do this, I will keep that in mind for future. “Irritation and frustration” sounds more like “it’s too hard for me but my ego won’t admit it”.

That’s not the point.
There is huge lack of worthwhile solo content in WoW at the moment. This was a way for them to at least partially remedy that. So not doing that content defeats the purpose.

Don’t make this personal please. I did the original one, but I can’t be bothered with it if the reward is not to my liking. And that’s just disappointing.

I personally don’t care if they would bring back things that are unobtainable (even my Benedict staff from vanilla)! However it adds some value to the game when you meet someone that have mogs from an other era of the game! At least it were a conversation starter before!

The game have some of the best mogs from SL and they are still here so I don’t look back to much!

But one Massive mistake was to lock the skins for Druids behind old mage tower! Just stupid, really stupid!

You’ve only got to see how popular the soul shapes are to see that Druids need more customisation forms.

Indeed! They do (didn’t) not understand that players care more about customization and mogs then fancy systems that are more complex then building an whole home from IKEA.

They should look back to their roots, why did WoW become the most popular MMORPG in the world? Because it was the least complex and grindy MMO 2004/5. People like pretty, shiny and easy game with interesting and grounded plots where they can see them self in the characters shoes (but without limits from real world)!

Go back to roots and skip 95% of system and let us progress our character longer then one season and I’m sure it will become super once more!

They did do that, you just didn’t like it. I liked it, other people liked it. You don’t like it, nobody is forcing you to do it.

These topics always come up when Blizzard release challenging content because people feel entitled to the rewards for challenges they don’t have the skill to overcome. There was nothing frustrating about the Mage Tower for me, it’s great challenging content rehashed, you can take it or leave it.

Nobody walks in and one shots the mage tower and then complains it was frustrating, they complain it’s frustrating when it’s too hard for them to walk right over.

True!

They should absolutely ensure that all classes are balanced before release tho. In dec-21 did they change things along the road. Some classes face rolling MT other was nearly impossible to do MT with pre-nerf :stuck_out_tongue:

Mage Tower was nearly impossible when it released in Legion, most people did it with 2 tiers extra gear but the best players still did it in Nighthold Gear without fully upgraded artifacts or the final patch new systems. If you want a truly challenging solo event that is comparable with Mythic raiding, reality is only 1% of players will be able to beat it.

So do you want it to be challenging or do you want it to be another hand holding experience? I’m fine with accepting I don’t have the skill to beat the healing one, I don’t want them to bring it down to my level just so I can have the reward.

Sure you can see it like that. But that’s not the whole picture, they did even admit that holy priest was totally busted and not balanced at all. We should not be beta tester in live version of the game! If they implement a system should it work properly!

The MT challenges is not that hard just learn the dance :dancer:t3: I have done three on alts that I don’t play much at all. But I expect content and not bug reporting! as it is now I enjoy it a lot!

The challenging part of the holy priest challenge is that the allies are made out of paper compared to Legion and for some reason breaks CC now.

Like, it’s like you’re playing with people that are intentionally throwing. If people played that bad in a player-group as the allies do, I’d leave that group in an instant. But for some reason Blizzard thinks it’s just fine to have them throwing.

Rage quit in 5 sec! It is like doing mythic raiding in LFR :joy:

but they did it
mage tower is SOLO challange
it’s not meant to be easy solo content like pet battles
or collecting herbs
it’s about playing your class doing dmg playing mechanics and progressing boss fight SOLO
it’s about you learning the encounter

If you lack SOLO content you can provide feedback for a content that will suit YOU
you don’t need to try change something that is build around mechanical and class gameplay.
