It’s not a concept, it’s how they work, same with zandalari pallies. Those don’t worship the Naaru or the light directly, but venerate a Loa that grants them their powers.
Also, difference between the human/dwarf way of worshipping the Light directly and the Draenei who worship the Naaru. LFD Bring that to a radical level.

The belfs at least have sworn to never draw magic from a naaru again. They use the Sunwell yes, but a retri pala would still draw power from the light itself. The light doesnt mind in most cases. Same as the Void. Its very rare that the Light or the Void refuse usage of powers if you truly wish to access their powers.
The Zandalari used Rezan (and him alone) as a conduit so to say to access the Light. Without him only a handful can even still use the Light (you could deem them trash prelates as they never really represented the values but only served them). Which are beings that the Light has accepted as beings allowed to wield its might. If the Light would say “nope” they couldnt wield it either even if Rezan was still alive. Without Rezan their only way to access the Light is through the Light itself. Which is working because they continue to represent Rezans values and the Light has deemed that acceptable.
The Naaru are not the source of the Draeneis light power. Neither do they worship them on that level. They revere them because they are beings of light and the Naaru serve as an connection to the light itself given their origin but they dont worship them. The Draenei have probably the most direct link to the Light itself out of all races. A reason why Velen didnt go “REEE” when Illidan killed Xe’ra because the Naaru are not THE light.

I have two characters, actually many dks on alliance and horde.
Void elves got DK skins on Shadowlands prepatch if I’m not mistaken.
Move them both to the unplayable faction
May as well to be honest. Blizzard has shown nothing but supreme indifference to the concerns we have voiced over the years which has led us to a place where the offshoot allied race now has the option to look identical in appearance to their enemy parent race in addition to having a wholly unique set of aesthetics to choose from that is exclusive to them.
If they’re so dead set on continually screwing us over like they have for so long I’d much rather see them add an additional Horde race to our roster, give Blood Elf players who so desire a free race change and pull the band aid rather than copy paste assets from Belfs to Velfs every other patch cycle.
