healthstone is 25% heal, corruption is a dot that deals damage, fear is arguably one of the best ccs in the game. none feel bad/boring to use lmao what are you even talking about.
life tap being a thing means your spells costs a lot of mana for absolutely no reason lmao so after every few spells you press a button so you can keep going.
it’s braindead and boring, has no interaction and it just slows down an already slow class with a lot of build up lol.
however, if life tap gave shard fragments idk, that could be neat? i’d much rather have fel flame back tho
There is no point in bringing mana back as resource, mana is not the problem with destro playstyle, this is just a small change that will not really bring much new to the table, definetly not the rework that destro so deseperately needs right now.
Yes you can, you have no reason for why restoring health is “fun” and restoring mana is “boring”. You can make claims how those spells make you “feel” until you’re blue in the face, but that’s not an argument.
Your spells don’t cost more for no reason, they actually do more damage and that downtime is supposed to compensate for it, hence why you want to cast it when you have nothing else to do, like on the move, it’s not braindead, you choose when to cast it. And yes you could argue that fel flame filled that niche.
Just because it fits the theme doesn’t mean it’s fun to use, i don;t know about you, but for me it’s just not good.
I would prefer continuing my rotation as normal without also having to press a button every 20 sec to restore some of my mana, it’s just not that interesting.
It’s just an ability that it’s there to allow you to continue with your rotation, basically create a problem give you the solution, but why not just get rid of the problem alltogether?
no, you can’t. restoring health is “fun” because wow, not dying is fun. providing healthstones also is a super nice utility.
life tap is an extremely outdated and clunky mechanic that ruins the flow of a spec especially at the end of the expansion when you basically have to spam it because of haste values.
artificially creating a problem by increasing spell cost just to bring this spell back sounds horrible. we don’t need it.
i’m sorry, maybe i’m dumb, but i don’t understand how life tap could ever be fun, it’s not fun to stop mid burst rotation to tap, it’s not fun when some boss ability brings you to low hp and you have to tap and pray, it’s not fun in pvp.
i’ve been crying all over the forums since warlords for fel flame to come back, it’s a much more F U N ability to press that actually does stuff and generates a resource we need.
Life tap was fun back in the days when mana was REALLY relevant on almost all other dps classes. Running out of mana after x minutes of fight was really a thing and people needed to adjust their rotation and/or consumables to have mana long enough. That’s where life tap made sense. Was unique and fun.
But those days are over. Mana is literally just for utility for all dpc classes except arcane mage and it should stay that way, or be removed completly. There is no reason why warlock should manage his mana activaly with life tap, even sacrificing his health to do so, when literally everyone else in the game can do his dmg endlessly without health cost. (even arcane mage, because he has tools to replenish).
Warlock’s DPS resource are soulshards. If you have trouble with that resource, throw in some suggestion how to improve it. But mana for warlock right now (not counting this stupid patch with consistent 120+% haste where we literally could run out of mana until the recent hotfix and demo still can) is there just to limit his utility. To be specific, limit drain life and fear. Maybe they can even try to find other ways to limit those (not tied to soulshards ofc) and mana could be removed from warlock altogether.
