Make renown account wide

I’ll one up your idea and say: remove renown. Literally i’m already gnoring it entirely but still, remove it pls. Nobody finds joy in these systems at all

Reputation exist since wow day 1 in 2004, so no way it being removed.
Besides, what would we do in open world, carrot needs to exist or people dont play.

Doesnt matter how long smth exists, it’s boring as hell dawg

Fair opinion.
Tbh, I like chasing renown.

Ok, and what if you wanna switch main? Do you like doing it multiple times? Doing all the quests again? Every reset the same world quests. If you change your main on a different server, you even lose your gold progression from world quests. Let alone having to gear from scratch. Wanna know why I don’t do m+? One reason is, that I like pvp more. The other reason is, that I would need to do 100 M+16 dungeons to get max level crafted gear. Now imagine someone having to do this twice, because they happen to dislike a class all of the sudden, and then also losing all renown progression. This won’t happen in this timeline. I think Dragonflight is only pseudo alt friendly, if you care only about pvp, and also only about gameplay. For me, it’s already waaay more alt friendly than for pvers, but even for me it’s not enough alt friendly

Do we know if renown cap is going to stay at 30?
Will 10.1 raise it to 45?

are we going to have fast renown grinds like Shadowlands?

Well, it would be nice for fresh alts to get the renown gear from the factions. Until you’ve unlocked the renown, you’ve got better gear from world quests and M+ anyway, so what’s the point if not as catch up for alts?

PS: Plus, the profession recipies are locked too and that sucks for alts. Professions are gimped enough as they are anyway, no need to timegate the few recipies that could help skill a profession.

As a person who is heavily into the profession system. Whilst I agree it’s annoying that they’re locked behind renown. I do think it’s for the best that there is still a barrier for entry.

It stops Goblins (like myself), instantly having access to all the patterns and further murdering the economy.

Its that barrier to entry which gives value to items.

Then just gate profession recipes behind extreme amounts of some currency. There is no need to have professions cannibalize the rest of the casual game experience, and giving us a huge chore with having no account-wide renown making it extremely daunting to switch mains. It’s like I can come up with 20 solutions instantly to fix this arbitrary non-issue, and increase the QoL substantually. If your whole activity in wow is making gold, it’s not worth it to sacrifice the rest of the game, so you don’t feel like you have to do degen stuff to be a bigger goblin.

Well, you could argue that renown is a currency for that matter. I know it’s not presented that way, but you’re going to have to earn the currency somehow, they’re not just going to give it to you.

Yes, it is fine doing all over again, quests and stuff.
If people can kill same raid bosses, doing same bgs, hunt same rares etc. why not doing quests?

that would be awsome in that case you could easy go to an alt if you want to do so now you got to the whole renown lvling proces i guess its why i like diablo3 there if one caracter got something they all got it.

The valuable recipies are already gated behind RNG and knowledge points. None of my alts can craft those, since they don’t have the points or drops and aren’t going to buy recipies from the AH… I just want to get some more skillpoints and the renown stuff would help, no one going to threaten “goblins” with those.

By what? Questing? What if you prefer leveling through dungeons then?

Seriously they should present an option to switch account wide reputation on and off. That way, those seeking “challenge” can go grind it on alts (for whatever reason…) and those, who rightfully think grinding reputation once must be enough are both satisfied. It’s ridiculous how it is now. Blizzard need to understand that some players aren’t entertained but rather feel insulted in their intelligence by lazy activity systems which require you to do progress from zero every season or every alt.

That’s not true.

Tbh, I have bought a few recipes for embellished armour from AH. They have all paid for themselves pretty quickly.

It’s well worth the investment.

The best way to get skill points is to interact with other players. Get the Infurioud PVP recipes (5-10k on Ah) and offer free crafts or fill in work orders as they come up. The rank on PVP items doesn’t matter because it all scales.

I am experiencing this right now. I mained and played only one class since I started to play retail. But with a lot of changes and not very enjoyable gameplay, I don’t feel the class anymore, so I decided to mix things up and try something else. And now I am grinding all pver again. Some things are fun (nostalgia mostly), but some things like Nat Pagle, SL reps, etc., are really boring to do all over again. I don’t mind to do some things, like campaigns and questing in the old zones, since that’s what I like to do and do most of my time, but as someone who likes to have for an example all profession patters and recipes, grinding some stuff can be exhausting and unpleasant.

Even if they don’t have any intention to make reps account wide, having system like in Pandaria or tokens like in Dreanor could be really helpful.

You can also decide NOT to do that  I cba to do all the renown on all my alts. I do some WQs, esp when they give gold, I don’t accept any new quests, I did that on my main, and do some on 1 alt, the rest, nada!

Blizzard still does have difficulty with the fact that most of our activities are account not character related.

We pay for active account and when they introduce such tedious system like renown grinding. They should make it account wide.

Things like leveling up, farming gear and story quests can for sure be character related. Nothing wrong with that. But anything even remotely connected to grind should be of wider spectrum.
