Make the game playable

I play HC because one life make games fun I don’t give … about G or end game contents. Levelling IS the game.

Just go again. Every alt meant to be new experience.
And don’t use stupid guides … one said he killed in Tarren Mill as Ally because Guide told him go to Tarren Mill for spices from Southshore

Guide is good since Vanilla its even supposed to be updated for HC but it kind of expect much risk so being one level above is whats working. And it worked perfectly quickly got to level 52 almost 53 went to blasted lands was gonna do quests and then a rare mob appeared greed told to kill it and then it was chest inside with 46 ogre dotted the ogre and 58 elite ran out from behind the wall and that was it.

The guide even have alarms when U get close to an elite but only if you are supposed to be in the area.

Other than that its easy to not die as warlock so even took risks like delivering hecular scouting the bag scroll with kilroggs eye or killing the buccaneers extremely fast etc. But then I told myself if I die then I die. But not kind of random death with all gold in bag.

Now I have to level up new lock and it suxxorates, i like leveling other alts but with gold for all items from AH so its enjoyable experience and then I wanted to make my tank go through all insts but now I have to level a new lock. Maybe it will go faster this time than 10 days since gonna get 20 today at least.

I don’t WANT fast I want fun, want to experience and think. Not let Guoide think for me.
If you played with no guide you would have watched area before rush in.

You are supposed to think, not let guide think for you.

Well after you did it recently you remember almost the route without the guide and it actually does every possible quest almost its why its fast but still its not enough quests without grindin.

As for thinking well I was not thinking there could be elite 58 in a room with 46 mobs. It could be 48 elite but not 58 and boss like one that hits like a truck.

You do understand that people don’t play HC because wow economy isn’t great on other servers? I understand it may be your reasoning but that is not the general mindset of the majority of the player base lmao.

You died of your own mistakes. Rare elite mobs in higher-end areas are almost always a couple levels above the designated level of the area, especially if they are a part of a quest chain. I don’t know how close you have your camera zoomed in to have an elite sneak up on you, but I’ll give you a piece of advice - zoom out, or just simply get a rarescanner addon (since you use leveling guides might as well).

Hardcore is not supposed to be easier the higher level you are, but on the contrary, you take a lot more challenges with a lot more on stake and that is the fun of it. Your hard earned rewards become all the more rewarding.

Make a semi hc server with a week res cooldown? And how exactly is that going to prevent the botting? They’ll just log in a week later and boom goes your server econ. If permadeath is a too difficult of a hurdle for you, then probably best not to play HC.

Hardcore is not meant to be completed in one run with no sweat when you clearly do not know the zones and their elites well. Its a challenge for either veterans to come back to and test themselves, or new players such as myself to die a couple times, learn on mistakes and do better on the next run.

If you’re this salty over a death due to your own mistakes, then oh boy you’re in a hell of a ride if you are so desperately looking forward to end game content where you’ll probably die due to someone else’s fault.

What else is there to say mate, get better and GO AGANE. Or don’t, up to you.

You mentioned hating bots because people boost themselves to end game, but at the same time you’re saying you wanted to level a warlock just so that you can get a bunch of strong items from the AH and make it a faceroll for your warrior? You’re essentially doing the very same thing you stand against, but instead of paying a booster, you’re just buying items that you most likely are not supposed to have such easy access to at a lower level. If you really are trying to experience the “vanilla” you claim from 20 years ago, buying expensive items as a high level toon won’t give you the same vibe you seem so desperately looking for.

PS: FYI people sell gold on HC too.

Why nothing? At least you got the knowledge that Elites are unsoloable, they are group quests and should be treated like that and done with a party having tank and a healer.

In Vanilla everyone used their main to build their alt, happy were the people who started mage or lock or hunter. Sad were those who gurgled with a warrior like I did and then had alts of the “easy to level classes”.

Back then it was the warrior giving expensive stuff to warlock now it will be other way around.

As for dying in a raid you are prepared for it you accept it as a risk you take or in an inst, you dont accept random death for no reason just because you did not know there was an elite behind the wall. I have max zoom out but you dont see it when its behind wall in a building and do not expect it with lowbie mobs. And no it was not rare, the rare was normal mob that I killed and looted. the elite was longer back in the room.

PS. Its impossible with Vanilla vibe on HC Warrior since warrior is a class made to die often and corpserun a lot. Its payment you must do leveling for later being needed to be a tank. But on HC you can not die and corpserun a lot so you have to pack the Warrior with gear and engineering and blacksmithing etc.

The difference between non HC and HC economy is that your normal character can afford items to alt, economy is ruined on non HC so if you dont buy gold you can not buy items cause they are priced like 1000g for craps.

That’s why I say go with no guide.
If we come to place, we not know,

  • you trust guide, and rush in.
  • I stay for a time watching movement patterns, surveying area, looking for unknown hazards (like elites), then clear ecspe route, then go in. Those times I got killed, was for NOT doing this, also my close calls, No escape route, no survey = Death or at best narrow escape.

You always have to think game is out to kill you - because it is.

That’s actually a very valid complaint, imo it would be better for the longevity of hc if you kept your resources (or like 50%) upon death, so you don’t start from coppers again. HC really has this feel that when you die you are done, delete char, over.
Yea I understand death is perma, it was your own mistake etc etc but do you want players on the server or not? Because I would still be playing hc if I kept some of my 150 gold that I lost, I’m just going sod now and not even look back.
Loosing EVERYTHING and starting from 0 isn’t many people’s cup of tea.

If I trusted the guide I would not have been there at all, I was greedy killed a rare and saw a chest deeper inside with 46 mobs. Had no idea that behind wall there is a level 58 elite. Since usually there are not elites 12 levels higher than the mobs between them.

I can fully understand the op’s feelings, after 5 deaths at up to L44 I have felt the frustration too.

It’s entirely in the players hands how to manage the very high probability that your char will have numerous near death experiences and may die even in seemingly neutral circumstances (think falling/drowning).

But there’s rules laid down before you play and that’s pretty much it.

Having levelled a number of chars, feeling constantly under stress and behaving like the bogeyman was after me, it suddenly dawned on me how pointless the whole thing is.

The only ‘reward’ you get at the end is kind of self-achievement or self-satisfaction, nothing else.

I think HC is just another ‘filler’, with more to come, cheap efforts to try and get players to stay or return because the real game has gone flat and so many have unsubbed.

Well for me HC is like freshserver or more Vanilla experience without the big botting system crashed economy boost as leveling and everyone running in epics.

LOL normal servers do even have gold DKP raids. That means people just buy gold and buy endgame items crashing the whole game.

Newer expansions are crashed by giving out loot for doing HC insts and letting people skip raids. So if you dont play from the beginning you will not get to see the raids from the beginning and have to just gear by turning in tokens.

TBC was last good expansion where you had to progress through the whole content before getting to kill Kij Jaedan.

If there only was a solution to having all resources on one toon.

There is no convenient way/bank to store your gold on a single character my friend :upside_down_face: Most people won’t make a bank alt and even that can get griefed.
Before you say : well that’s your fault, you are stupid !
Okay, I will play somewhere else, as a lot of people do. If people don’t start over in hc it’s over, and you can bet I won’t.

good riddance.

Couldnt said it better myself!

can’t wait to see you on sod, hopefully other faction

I will test it out, but probably gonna stick with HC. SOD probably wont suit a vanilla enthusiast such as myself.

I´ll always take your ear on HC though :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
