Just stay gone then.
And it isn’t pay to win…
Gladly i’m on a fun private server there’s way better.
And it was with all wanting to purchase boosts.
Good for you sweaty.
Now why are you still on the official forums?
Here until i can’t post again
Query.
Do you consider the game Pay2Win of recently with the token only? Then what made you continue playing anytime between then and 2006 with the addition of The Trading Card Game?
Guys, WoW is pay to win because in order to even play you have to buy the latest expansion otherwise you can’t partake in it. If I can’t play, I can’t win, therefore World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is Pay to Win.
But to be less condescending on the whole thing - if you go to the shop there are two forms of purchases you can make that aren’t afforded to you if you play the game normally.
You have convenience purchases - name changes, race changes, server transfers, level boosts and so on. You could argue that having more level 60s means you are paying for an advantage by having more characters to play at the current content level but unless you’re paying for those on seperate accounts so you can play them simoultaenously (or break terms of service to have them automatically played simoultaenously) then it’s a moot point. It doesn’t matter if you have one character at Level 70 or fifty of them - you can only make use of one at a time per account.
The other thing you pay for in the shop is cosmetics. Cosmetics have no impact on gameplay and therefore cannot be considered pay to win unless you want to cry about the Trial of Style, which you shouldn’t because complaining about a fun novelty meme mode is incredibly sweaty.
As for the player-driven boost economy - you are not paying to win, you are again paying for convenience. If you want to get high item levels from M+s or raids you are more than welcome to try out for a guild or community that runs those. If you’re being boosted past a level in an M+ you can actually play at, then congratulations - you’ve just dumped potentially millions of gold which may translate to hefty amounts of IRL money into a character you can’t use - you’re an idiot, you’re objectively bad with your spending habits and you should seek financial advice.
absolutely was in late bfa tbqh
Don’t those straight up put best in slot gear in the store?
Do you want to hear the deep, esoteric forum lore? You can post on server forums even if you are unsubbed (unfortunately). So you will be able to post here forever, in a futile attempt to reach Blizzard on the forums they never read.
Two of the fundamental founding points of this game:
-all players have the same level of access to the game’s content.
-character power is decided by what content you do in game, not by how much you pay for it, and all players can reach the same power by playing the game.
With F2P, these two points will fly out of the window.
F2p would make the game severely more toxic. When there is no consequence to being banned, people tend to be incredibly rude/troll.
See League of Legends.
Character boosts don’t really count as P2W either — they don’t bring you to max level for most of the expansion, they don’t give you amazing gear. They just shave off time from the levelling experience and allow you to start on the latest stories.
And even when they do bring you to max level - every raid tier is typically done/completed with people mostly just doing re-runs for missed transmogs or glory of the x raider achievements, and you’re still paying an absurd amount just for the convenience of getting a character to max level when you probably already have one if you’ve played at any point in the past two years.
Just in case anyone decides to bring that part up.
Cash shops are bad in general but as far as pay to win goes WoW’s is pretty tame. You can buy gold but that’s about it.
Luckily we’re far off from games like BDO.
The gear it gives when it’s to max level is hot garbo too. Not even normal dungeon ilvl.
Saying WoW isn’t p2w is simply false, because you can easily buy boosts and gear (both for gold and money) and still suck at the game as you did before buying it all.
In fact, buying boosts gets you gear now too, thanks to the vault. You sure need to spend a lot of money to get all the equipment, but you still can. A basic definition of p2w.
Even for the ones who still would not understand the mechanics from the raids
But I actually have spent 5 hours of wiping Opulence in LFR, it was the healers´ fault. Yet it still stays required to pay subscription for them for 13 Euros for every month? Lol
Not to judge, but you are aware that World of Warcraft is a game and not some sort of contractual obligation right? If you weren’t enjoying that group you very well could’ve hopped out at any point without any major consequence.
Yes. That amount is paid to play the game and (hopefully) enjoy it, not to be good at it or to gurantee success with other players.
yeah i hate it when they wont outheal the aoe im stood in
I think WoW will never be free to play, even in 11.0 or 12.0 when we reach 4 or 5 worst expansions in a row
