Sadly, in business, it is never that black and white. I agree the game should be fine for some time but there is always the risk is won’t be the core focus. This will result in even poorer quality content being pushed out. I think we should all really only start being weary once they announce the sub is going to be part of the monthly pass.
He promoted and fueled boosting like no one else. Glad he’s gone
wouldn’t surprise me that WoW joins Console gaming, its been in the works for a few years with controller support
i just hope they don’t butcher the game in the process or add " battle pass " diablo4 style and "predatory monetisation "
hopefully what we are reading here is a good thing but with the history of blizzard and its …issues… its had in the past , i think its logical to assume this is another lose for our beloved game and developer company
I mean of the greatest examples is the cosmetics in D4.
“The free pass cosmetics will be as good as the paid ones”
And they lied lied about that HARD.
The cosmetics that are locked behind money are way better than the ones obtainable ingame.
Also there is almost nothing to get cosmetic-wise if you don’t pay.
3 month season and almost no good content in any of those, for this beta of a game.
That’s a full price 70 dollar game…
Stop paying for MvP subs that should help as well.
pretty sure Diablo4 is so unpopular now … people have deleted it off their storage…
i have deleted it from my ps5 console
so maybe the lays offs were for diablo4
Does anyone know what are the most popular titles in now enlarged MS’s palette?
call of duty Warzone 100%
id assume elder scrolls games would be up there too
If it ever goes the path of Diablo 4 , I’m out
Do you think that WoW is in top five?
Is it safe to say that games which are not in top five will be treated as, for the lack of better term, a side projects?
What path is that?
I just know I hate the path they took OW…
WoW wont be in the top 25,
most of MS top games are console bound games, console market is larger than PC , ease of use and low in price for a consumer to play, whereas a PC can cost £2000 +
thats the hard truth of it , but if WoW goes to Console , it may breach top 5
in fact… ill amend what i said above
Mobile gaming is possibly larger than console
something like this in order :
- Mobile gaming
- Console
- PC
Well they put a pirate flag in the road map, didn’t they?
Gacha waifus for my DK when?
Like OW path, but you also buy the game, it’s not F2P.
Thanks for your IP Blizz, please tell your people not to come back.
Your sincerely
Microsoft.
Also, Riot getting rid of 11% of their workforce
We’re going to see a lot more of this throughout the industry, I suspect. For some companies it will involve letting employees go. For others it will take the form of the cancellation of projects already in the works. Then there’s going to those indulging a bit of both.
Curious to which sectors were most affected.
Honestly, those layoffs read more like “we need to save money after the acquisition to please shareholders”.
See this Wired Statement I found:
Many developers believe the reason behind the industry’s mass layoffs is pandemic-related : Studios that ballooned in headcount are now facing harsh realities as people spend their money elsewhere. “I see it as a correction now that revenue is back to more normal levels post-pandemic,” said one respondent.
Imagine still blaming the pandemic… especially in the gaming-genre.
I am pretty sure that the pandemic helped game sales.
