Mighty Caravan Brutosaur: Unobtainable Despite Blizzard's Claims

Cutting corners is how you get rich. :moneybag: :smiling_imp: :moneybag:

On another note, does this forum somehow allow private messaging? I can’t find the option for it anywhere.

I’m not sure to be honest, most likely not

Hmm, too bad. It’d be a good way to make friends, and would grant opportunities for like-minded people to privately rant to each other about the state of the game. Lol

Completely agree :slightly_smiling_face: maybe we should start a topic about it?

Maybe we should. Maybe I just did!

They closed the Versailles, France offices and laid off a ton support employees in October 2020. I do recall reading Kotick and some of the other Activision upper management write themselves several $100 million dollar bonuses that year and the year after.

If the acquisition by Microsoft goes through next year one would hope they’re going to reinvest in the support division, but honestly, I’m not going to hold my breath.

This is the stance I take with them on many issues. They are stupidly stubborn as demonstrated with this mount and their lack of communication on this website

Dragonflight’s here and players without a Brutosaur are still facing an unjustifiable disadvantage when it comes to playing the market.

It seems like this is what blizzard want. But they’ll spin it with:

‘these mounts are now special so everyone can stare at them in awe’

They have shown with other things they care little for player feedback with arrogant responses or lack of responses. And they wonder why their last two expansions have been complete failures

I totally agree that it should be added back to the game.
I never understood the decision to remove it in the first place.
My goal was to get a Brutosaur ever since the BFA trailer, but after learning that it was 5 mil I figured I’d get it some day. Guess I was wrong…

It’s really strange. Every other day there is a new topic up about the Brutosaur on the US forums and today there was one poor player begging for it to be brought back.

Here it is: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/bring-back-reins-of-the-mighty-caravan-brutosaur/1424458

It makes me rather sad to see how desperate players are. The situation has been an unfair one since the mount was removed from the vendor, and it continues to be a decision that divides the player base.

Off-topic, but are you currently playing Retail? If not, is it Classic or Wrath Classic that you’re playing with that character? And which version of the game do you prefer? What would you say makes them different from Retail?

Casually playing retail atm because blizzard are making it difficult to play WOTLK by removing dungeon finder. I’m also not playing DF due to the lack of trust in blizzard because of the last two expansions being very low bar. And the dirty business practices like removing the Brutosaur for tickets

They removed dungeon finder? As in, completely? Whatever for? Either way, you received mail in Classic. :slightly_smiling_face:

Dragonflight so far has had its fair share of problems. Due to massive bugs and exploits that either weren’t tested or have had their respective bug reports ignored, a lot of features are temporarily disabled. That frankly sucks.

I’m still feeling the burnout of Shadowlands, but I’m trying to get past it. It’s unclear for me so far if the effort I’m putting in to raise all my professions to max level is worth it in the end, because the new crafting system is quite convoluted and requires a lot of renown grinds, and it remains to be seen if the crafting order system will even be utilized on a low pop server.

But Dragonriding is well done (in my opinion), the zones and the art direction are beautiful, and the instances are a breath of fresh air. That’s about the only positive feedback I have for the expansion.

I also received a response for my ticket. The GM was apologetic and said that as GMs, they don’t have any direct control over what is listed on the BMAH and that they aren’t able to forward feedback to the developers.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. For an item that appeared twice in a row and back to back on EU servers, it’s still highly suspicious that it hasn’t been seen anywhere at all since that July 2021 hotfix went live and isn’t addressed as a potential bug.

This german site has also been speculating that the item is bugged (and laments that despite many call-outs having been made on forums, there has been no official response): www.goldgoblin(dot)net/wo-ist-der-bronto-auktionshaus-reittier-seit-monaten-verschwunden/

So, the only course of action that we can take… is to just keep trying. But I’ve already decided that unless something happens in Dragonflight where the Brutosaur is concerned, this will be my last expansion.

just bring it back blizzard, it was extrememly silly to remove it, hell if you really wanna bring it back for 10mil on tricky nick and the horde vendor

I think the issue is that there are game changing mounts.
When you first have your account, or even if you open a new account. You don’t have a vendor mount this alters your gameplay that you have not noticed since you got it in the first place. Whatever you are doing in the game just mount up repair gear vendor trash and keep moving.

Or transmog if you have the Grand Expedition mount.
The Brutosaur mount is also game changing. It was designed to be a gold sink and a flex. But should that become easily available by the larger player base at a whole. Then faction cities will become graveyards.

What reasons would players have to come to cities? What’s next a mount that you have access to a bank?
I just think there should be some reasons to come to a city.

I agree that the mount is game-changing, which is also what causes players who weren’t given the benefit of purchasing it to feel embittered that they are denied its major function.

Valdrakken has its own Auction House now, though. If that trend continues, then no future expansion hub will suffer from a deserted main city. There have been players with Brutosaurs just idling around in Valdrakken, often in front of the physical Auction House itself.

The game already has something similar, an Argent Tournament pet called Argent Squire for the Alliance, and its Horde counterpart, the Argent Gruntling. When you summon those and choose the option to do mobile banking, you’ll gain access to your bank for a few minutes.

This comes down to a sense of entitlement. That people pay their subscription fee just like others but they don’t want to earn the things that others earn, through acheivements grinding to make gold etc… but yet still want the same outcomes. Equity does not work in gaming.

As for people having their Brutosaur mounts outside of the auction house it is a flex. But what you will see is that people are creatures of least resistance. Why walk into the auction house where someone spawned their Brutosaur right there.

Whether it is the Goblin racial bank, or argent squire. These are temporary and conditional perks. What I refer to is a similar function to the Grand expedition Yak. Where as you can take as long as you want to tmog your outfit for new gear or make an entirely different look in the first place.

Game changing. Imagine if you will if flying mounts had a similar function as gear repair / transmog / auction house / bank. This would also be game changing. Since having zones where flying does not work really fleshes out the World with players.

Like giving players flying in the first place. Blizzard understands that once you give the players something then they can’t take it back. But gameplay is still essential to any game or franchise.

Entitlement would be demanding things for free, or for far less effort than the reward previously required. There are few, if any, players asking for such a thing. In this topic alone, you’ll see the majority of them suggesting to return the mount to its vendor for double its original price.

Since Warlords of Draenor and Legion mission tables also printed several millions of raw gold for just a single player, owning a Brutosaur after having played those expansions on a daily basis is hardly a feat.

The same is true for Mage Tower rewards obtained in Legion. The reworked Shadowlands Mage Tower was significantly harder, as it scaled one’s gear down by a considerable amount to raise the difficulty of the encounter, and yet somehow its rewards are lackluster when compared to those of the Legion Mage Tower.

A rather large amount of people also purchased their Brutosaurs with gold acquired through selling tokens. With gold rewards so neutered in Dragonflight, the task of generating gold is the hardest it’s ever been, and it’s an absolute necessity to read and understand markets well to gain an understanding of profitable ventures.

It is indeed game-changing. The question is if an estimated 4-8% of all players should have the advantage they do, because the market and professions are suffering for it.

Actually they never announced it. Some rando was stuffing around on a PTR and just happened to notice it was gone from the vendor. Then the :poop: hit the fan.

If the earned it. Then Yes. 100% the main reason being is that Equity (equal outcomes) will never work in a game.
As for gold being more difficult to earn. You have to have gold sink mechanics as the economy of a game is important. Yes you can get whales that flood the market with real world cash through WoW tokens and stuff.
But it should be something that is…actually earned.

Some things are time sensitive. One time events never to happen again. It adds history to a game. Should someone just happen to do an event or just happen to have something that is discontinued.

Brutosaur is just another case of the Haves vs Have nots.
Even if they brought it back some of the player base won’t jump through all of the hoops necessary to actually earn it.
