Mists of Pandaria Classic Beta Known Issues - Updated 13 June

We’re tracking the following issues and working to address them:

General

  • Dual Specialization is not currently working.
  • Active Glyphs are cleared on relog.
  • Scenarios - Backfilling does not complete
  • Due to several issues with professions, they are not available.

Classes and Combat

  • Specialization respec is currently free.
  • Mana regen rates in the UI may be lower than the actual mana gained.
  • Hunter - Spells: Ice Trap fails to create the area of effect.
  • Hunter - Aspect of the Iron Hawk: Aspect shows as active on hotbar even when deactivated.
  • Mage - Mastery: Ignite: Remaining damage is not added when spell is reapplied.
  • Mage - Alter Time: Alter Time fails to display a cooldown on the action bar.
  • Shaman - Glyph of Chaining: Spell jump range increase of Chain Heal is not applied.

User Interface

  • The item socketing UI is broken.
  • Lua error when viewing the Core Abilities tab of the Spellbook window.
  • Scenario Accept Screen missing background art.
  • Multiple icons are squished on the player’s minimap.
  • The filters on the minimap may not track properly, if you turn them on and off several times.
  • The PTR Bug Reporter window opens behind the talent window.

We’ll update the Beta regularly with fixes.

Known Issues - 1 May

General

  • Greater Healing Potion doesn’t function.

  • Damage does not update correctly for spells with rolling periodic effects (such as Blackout Kick, Echo of Light, Devouring Plague, Touch of Karma, Hand of Gul’dan, Bloodbath, Temporal Shield, Piercing Shots, Explosive Shot).
  • Intellect contributes to Mana (in Mists of Pandaria Mana should scale with level instead of Intellect).
  • Pet Melee Attack Power does not scale with Ranged/Melee Attack Power or Spell Power.
  • Hunter - Picking any pet specialization will reset the Hunter’s primary specialization to Beast Mastery.
  • Hunter - Pet focus does not regenerate out of combat.
  • Hunter - Spells: Ice Trap fails to create the area of effect.
  • Hunter - Aspect of the Iron Hawk: Aspect shows as active on hotbar even when deactivated.
  • Mage - Mastery: Ignite: Remaining damage is not added when spell is reapplied.

Fixed Issues - 1 May

General

  • Guardian creatures may not assist the player during combat.

Classes

  • Mana regen rates in the UI may be lower than the actual mana gained
  • Power Word: Barrier, Anti-Magic Zone, and Healing Sphere have oversized spell effects.
  • Death Knight - Necrotic Strike cannot be cast on targets.
  • Druid - Nature’s Vigil does not cast.
  • Druid - Ursol’s Vortex does not function.
  • Druid - Canceling Incarnation while in Cat Form sets your action bars back to humanoid while leaving you in cat form.
  • Druid - Symbiosis does not last for the duration called out in its tooltip.
  • Druid - Wild Charge uses the Non-Shapeshifted version in Moonkin form.
  • Druid - Wild Mushrooms can be cast at the ground without Glyph of Sprouting Mushroom.
  • Hunter - The Ranged panel on the Character Page is not showing up, displays N/A.
  • Mage - Mastery: Ignite: Remaining damage is not added when spell is reapplied.
  • Monk - Casting Storm Earth and Fire causes the Monk’s model to become invisible.
  • Monk - Healing Sphere fails to cast.
  • Monk - Casting Zen Pilgrimage causes the Monk’s model to become invisible.
  • Paladin - Light’s Hammer does not provide healing to allies.
  • Paladin - Seal of Command cannot be Judged.
  • Shaman - Earth Elemental’s Harden Skin ability does not function.
  • Shaman - Conductivity’s spell tooltip shows an increased duration of 0.00 seconds.

User Interface

  • The PTR Bug Reporter window opens behind the talent window.
  • There is a blank header for Colorblind Mode and Subtitles in Accessibility Settings.

We’ve discovered a bug preventing testers from completing the first quest in Dread Wastes, and therefore continuing the Dread Wastes storyline.

We expect to fix this and make the Dread Wastes zone available in our next Beta build later this week.

Known Issues - May 8

General

    • There may be two copies of creatures in the zone and NPC pathing in some areas is incorrect.
    • Players are still affected by Spirit Void after abandoning the quest “Free Spirits”.
  • The Jade Forest
    • Lighting dramatically changes during the quest “Scouting Report: On the Right Track”.
  • Valley of the Four Winds
    • Looting Preserved Vegetable does not count towards objective credit during “The Thousand-Year Dumpling”.

User Interface

Known Issues - May 15

We’re tracking the following known issues:

General

  • You are unable to use the decline button on a questgiver’s UI.
  • MoP Normal Dungeons don’t show up at level 90 in the Random Dungeon Finder, while Wrath and TBC Heroic dungeons do.
  • Testers may become stuck in a state where they are unable to learn professions from Prefessataur.
    • In this case, seek out a profession trainer to learn your profession, and then go back to Professataur to receive your max level recipes.
  • Players are unable to discover new Alchemy recipes.
  • Using a /petautocaston or /petautocastoff macro with a temporary pet (ex. a Shaman elemental pet) causes a crash.

Classes

We’ve fixed the following issues since last week’s Beta build:

    • Blood Tap restores the correct Rune.

    • Blood Presence with Blood Specialization increases Rune Regeneration.
  • Druid
    • Dream of Cenarius increases your Eclipse’s damage.
    • While Glyph of Savagery is active Savage Roar can activate Predatory Swiftness.
  • Hunter
    • Vishanka, Jaws of the Earth is now longer using Cataclysm stat values.
    • Ice Trap no longer fails to create the area of effect.
    • Picking any pet specialization will no longer reset the Hunter’s primary specialization to Beast Mastery.
  • Mage
    • Inferno Blast does spread Ignite.
    • Combustion does work with Ignite.
  • Priest
    • Psyfiend spawns at the target destination.
  • Rogue
    • Recuperate cannot overwrite itself with shorter durations.
  • Warrior
    • Bladestorm is usable while Disarmed.

Dungeons

  • Elites in Cataclysm dungeons are no longer giving too much experience at level 85 or higher.
  • Players can now enter the Gate of the Setting Sun dungeon.
  • Chillheart’s Ice Wave is no longer ticking continuously in Heroic Scholomance.
  • Scholomance, Scarlet Halls, and Scarlet Monastery now show in the Mists of Pandaria category of the Dungeon Finder.

Quests

  • Several quests are no longer missing turn-in POIs on the map.
  • Pandaren Starting Experience
    • Players can now progress or complete “Hellscream’s Gift”.
  • Vale of Eternal Blossoms
    • Players are no longer affected by Spirit Void after abandoning the quest “Free Spirits”.
    • There should not be two copies of creatures in the zone and NPC pathing in some areas is incorrect.

User Interface

  • Action Bar Settings do not save after relog.

    • Pyroblast clears Presence of Mind
    • Mages can no longer use the Timberhusk buff to stack damage reduction.
    • Water Elemental regenerates mana.
    • The Water Elemental’s maximum mana is fixed.
  • Priest
    • Discipline Priests no longer get both the extra healing and the absorb from Divine Aegis.
    • Glyph of Sha causes your Shadowfiend and Mindbender to initiate a global cooldown.
    • Prayer of Mending’s Divine Insight variant is fixed.
    • Prayer of Mending healing has been corrected.
  • Shaman
    • Glyph of Chain Lighting fixed.
  • Warlock
    • Demonic Calling is now disabled when Imp Swarm is glyphed.

    • Shadow Bulwark is no longer granting too much health to the Voidwalker.

Dungeons

  • Gate of the Setting Sun - Saboteur Kip’tilak’s Sabotage no longer does too much damage to the initial target.
  • Several models are no longer offset in the Dungeon Journal.
  • MoP Normal Dungeons show up at level 90 in the Random Dungeon Finder.

Quests

  • Multiple quests’ gold rewards have been fixed.
  • Valley of the Four Winds
    • Looting Preserved Vegetable now counts towards objective credit during “The Thousand-Year Dumpling”

User Interface

  • The flight master map now opens.
  • UI scale should persist between client sessions or reloading.

May 22

  • We’ve disabled Arenas while we address a major issue.
    • We’re working on a fix and hope to open Arenas for testing in the next day or so.

    • Glyph of Spinning Crane Kick will now correctly allow you to move at normal movement speed when using Spinning Crane Kick. (fixed next build)
  • Shaman
    • Healing Tide Totem now benefits from the master’s Resilience and no longer heals itself.
  • Paladin
    • Hand of Sacrifice’s damage transfer will now correctly break crowd control effects that break on damage.
  • Priest
    • Lightwell’s tooltip now correctly includes the time interval it heals “every 2 sec for 6 sec”.
    • The tooltip on the Power Word: Barrier buff now correctly lists its damage reduction %.
  • Warlock
    • “Grimoire of Supremacy” does not remove the base Summon Demon variants.
    • Applying the Glyph of Shadow Bolt turns the spell on your hotbar into a passive spell, and moves the actual Shadow Bolt spell into the General tab of the spellbook.
    • Malefic Grasp and Drain Soul will now cost the correct amount of mana per tick. (fixed next build)
    • Havoc will now correctly work with mouseover macros if you are targeting your Havoc target and casting on another target. (fixed next build).

Dungeons

  • Mogu’shan Palace is not available for Challenge Dungeons.

Pet Battles

  • Pets from the Classic Digital Deluxe Editions (WotLK, Cata & MoP) are not showing in Journal.

Quests

  • The Jade Forest
    • Lighting dramatically changes during the quest “Scouting Report: On the Right Track”.
  • Vale of Eternal Blossoms
    • Golden Lotus Defender continues to attack the player even after being saved from Shao-Tien Domination during “In Enemy Hands”.

Mogu’shan Vaults

  • Will of the Emperor’s Devastating Combo visual does not always match the actual area of effect

User Interface

  • Resilience is granting more damage reduction per point than original Mists of Pandaria.

    • Casting Vanish during the activation time of Subterfuge causes Stealth to fade
  • Warlock

    • “Grimoire of Supremacy” does not remove the base Summon Demon variants.
    • Applying the Glyph of Shadow Bolt turns the spell on your hotbar into a passive spell, and moves the actual Shadow Bolt spell into the General tab of the spellbook.

We’ve fixed the following issues, since last week’s Beta build:

General

  • Passive Mana Regeneration is no longer too high.
  • LUA error when equipping a trinket with PVP Power on a healer should no longer fire.
  • The Grand Expedition Yak summons the correct vendors.
  • Ranged attacks can be blocked, but they cannot be dodged.
  • You can correctly interact with Arcane Reforger in Shrine of Two Moons.
  • Using a /petautocaston or /petautocastoff macro with a temporary pet (ex. a Shaman elemental pet) causes a crash.
  • Roots and Fears will now correctly break when enough damage has been taken.
  • The Item Upgrade vendors will not be active in 5.5.0.
  • The Grand Commendations sold by Mists of Pandaria faction quartermasters after hitting Revered will now become available for purchase after the release of Mogu’shan Vaults.

Classes

  • /petassist does not function.
  • Party resurrection spells say it costs all mana but none of it is spent when casting.
  • Death Knight
    • Pillar of Frost is correctly effected by Glyph of Pillar of Frost.
    • When multiple Anti-Magic Zones are active and then one of them fades, it will no longer remove all active Anti-Magic Zone effects.
    • Runic Corruption will now correctly match the hasted Rune Regeneration for Blood Death Knights.
    • Army of the Dead will now correctly refresh its cooldown upon encounter end.
  • Druid
    • Restoration’s Soul of the Forest buff is no longer consumed by Living Seed’s heal triggering.
    • Ferocious Bite’s tooltip will now correctly scale with % increases like Savage Roar.
    • Force of Nature’s base spell no longer incorrectly displays as having a duration of “Until Canceled”.
    • Wild Charge now uses the Non-Shapeshifted version in Moonkin form.
    • Canceling Incarnation while in Cat Form will no longer set your action bars back to humanoid while leaving you in cat form.
  • Hunter
    • The Auto Attack/Auto Shot UI setting is no longer available and prevents significant DPS drops for hunters.
    • Trueshot Aura and Legacy of the White Tiger no longer stack with similar effects.
    • It is no longer possible to get into a state where you make melee auto-attacks.
    • It is no longer possible for Freezing Trap to miss.
    • When multiple Misdirection spells are active on the same target, it will no longer cancel all other Hunter’s Misdirection threat transfer buffs when the first one is activated.
    • Serpent Sting and Glaive Toss will no longer fail to deal damage and apply their effects if the target is out of line-of-sight of the Hunter when the missiles lands.
    • Glaive Toss will no longer fail to deal damage and apply its effects if the target is more than 50 yards away from the Hunter when the missiles lands.
    • Deterrence will now have its charges correctly restored upon encounter end.
  • Mage
    • Frostfire Bolt now correctly consume Ice Floes.
    • Frostfire Bolt does not allow for Shatter to work on non-frozen targets.
    • Frostfire Bolt now correctly has a chance to trigger Fingers of Frost.
    • Icy Veins should no longer have separate cooldowns between the Glyphed and non-Glyphed versions.
  • Monk
    • Healing Elixirs will no longer persist on the Monk after they have talented out of it.
    • Glyph of Spinning Crane Kick will now correctly allow you to move at normal movement speed when using Spinning Crane Kick.
    • The Black Ox Statue icon no longer obscures the Chi Bar on the Player Health Frame.
    • Spinning Fire Blossom will no longer apply the root upon cast if it would hit a target 10 or more yards away. It now correctly roots when the missile makes contact with the target.
    • Many instant cast spells will no longer interrupt the Monk’s swing timer.
      • Full list of spells that reset the Monk’s swing timer: Zen Sphere Detonations, Gift of the Ox Sphere summoning, Fortifying Brew, Gift of the Serpent Mastery triggering, Breath of Fire, Breath of Fire’s Periodic effect, Touch of Karma, and Tiger’s Lust.
      • Intended spells that will continue to reset your swing timer: Black Ox Statue Summon, Detox, and Ring of Peace.
  • Paladin
    • Hand of Sacrifice’s damage transfer will now correctly break crowd control effects that break on damage.
    • The Passive talent Unbreakable Spirit will now correctly display in the spellbook.
    • Sanctified Wrath now correctly cancels if you swap talents with it active.
  • Priest
    • Lightwell’s tooltip now correctly includes the time interval it heals “every 2 sec for 6 sec”.
    • The tooltip on the Power Word: Barrier buff now correctly lists its damage reduction %.
    • Twist of Fate is now removed when changing talents.
    • Glyph of Inner Sanctum now properly stops contributing to the player’s buffs when the glyph has been removed.
    • When multiple Power Word: Barriers are active and then one of them fades, it will no longer remove all active Power Word: Barrier effects.
    • Prayer of Mending will now correctly heal and bounce without putting all of its bounces into a single target.
    • Prayer of Mending will now work correctly with Holy Priest’s Divine Insight.
    • Prayer of Mending will now correctly activate, contribute to, and refresh Holy Priest Mastery.
  • Rogue
    • Subterfuge is no longer activated from ticks of Healing Stream Totem.
    • Assassination no longer reduce the duration of enemy Poisons by 50%.
    • Master of Subtlety should no longer fall off prematurely when used with the Subterfuge talent.
  • Shaman
    • Healing Tide Totem now benefits from Resilience and no longer heals itself.
  • Warlock
    • Malefic Grasp and Drain Soul will now cost the correct amount of mana per tick.
    • Dark Intent no longer stacks with similar effects.
    • The first spell cast after leaving Metamorphosis now correctly benefits from Demonology Warlock’s Mastery.
    • Havoc will now correctly work with mouseover macros if you are targeting your Havoc target and casting on another target.
    • Summon Doomguard’s cooldown will now correctly reset at end of encounter.
    • Doom’s damage now increases correctly.
  • Warrior
    • The tooltip for Execute now displays the correct amount of rage generated when Glyph of the Executor is engraved.
    • Opportunity Strikes will no longer go on a 100ms internal cooldown whenever the ICD is available and any attack is performed. It will only go on cooldown when it actually activates an Opportunity Strike.
    • Slam’s damage now increases correctly.

Dungeons

  • Several models in the Dungeon Journal are offset.
  • Gate of the Setting Sun
    • Krik’thik Demolisher can sometimes knock down players.
  • Scholomance
    • Darkmaster Gandling does not cast Rise!.
  • Challenge Modes
    • Gate of the Setting Sun resetting after setting the torch ablaze teleports you to the torch instead of the start orb.
    • Mogu’shan Palace is not available for Challenge Dungeons.
    • Mass resurrection spells inside of Challenge Modes are displaying error text about ‘Mythic Keystone’ difficulty.
    • Start timer for Challenge Mode dungeons is 10 seconds, instead of 5 seconds.

Pet Battles

  • Pets from the Classic Digital Deluxe Editions (Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria) are not showing in Journal.
  • Launch Rocket (Mechanical Ability) generates an error when used.
  • There are several pets that appear in the Journal that cannot be obtained in Classic.
  • Arfus is not flagged Can’t Battle but has no abilities.
  • Pet Battle log is blank after forfeiting a match.

Quests

  • Vale of Eternal Blossoms
    • Gaohun the Soul-Severer does not give objective credit when slain.
    • Golden Lotus Defender continues to attack the player even after being saved from Shao-Tien Domination during “In Enemy Hands”.
  • The Jade Forest
    • Slingtail Fishripper are throwing placeholder cubes into the water causing errors.

User Interface

  • Heroic versions of items do not have their “Heroic” label.
  • Resilience is granting more damage reduction per point than original Mists of Pandaria.
  • Your UI scaling might reset its values upon relog.
  • It is possible to lose credit for solved Rare projects in the Archaeology UI.
  • Place In Bags doesn’t place your item in your bags if your backpack is full.
  • Glyph page is not conveying specialization information in the UI.

Known Issues - June 12th

We are tracking the following known issues and working to address them:

General

  • You cannot use mouselook and ground targeted spells at the same time.
  • Achievements don’t update visually in the tracker.
  • You stop turning if you have the move and turn keys both pressed and release the Move key.
  • Players are unable to discover new Alchemy recipes.
  • Sometimes talents with charges like Chi Torpedo, Sacred Shield (Holy), and Force of Nature will not display their charges correctly.
  • Horde Pandaren cannot ride certain faction mounts.

Classes

  • Spell costs that involve a % of Maximum Health do not display that cost on the tooltip (i.e. Life Tap, Soulshatter).
  • Specialization respec is currently free.
  • Dust of Disappearance is not allowing players to change talents.
  • Shadowy effects from spells and creatures look different than the original Mists of Pandaria.
  • The expertise tooltip rounds the Dodge and Parry chances to the lower half-percent.
  • Druid
    • Mastery: Total Eclipse does not dynamically update.
    • Treants summoned by Force of Nature do not inherit spell hit.
  • Hunter
    • Aspect of the Iron Hawk shows as active on the hotbar even when deactivated.
    • Stampede is summoning the pets on top of the Hunter instead of on top of the target.
    • Rapid Fire and Focus Fire do not effect the duration of Barrage.
  • Mage
    • Rune of Power remains after swapping level 90 talents.
  • Monk
    • Monks are using weapons instead of their fists during combat. This is a visual issue only.
  • Rogue
    • Blade Flurry targets dead players and NPCs.
  • Shaman
    • The team is aware of specialization swap advantages before combat starts and will be working on addressing these unintended behaviors.
  • Warlock
    • Grimoire of Supremacy does not remove the base Summon Demon variants.
    • Applying the Glyph of Shadow Bolt turns the spell on your hotbar into a passive spell, and moves the actual Shadow Bolt spell into the General tab of the spellbook.
    • The tooltips for Unbound Will, Blood Horror, and Burning Rush fail to display their HP cost requirement.

Dungeons

  • Challenge Mode
    • It takes a significant amount of time for the challenge mode UI to display guild or realm best after loading in or reloading.

Pet Battles

  • Players are unable to matchmake against other players at this time.
  • Rupture (Elemental Ability) is generating an error when used.

Player versus Player

  • Warsong Gulch
    • Players might experience an issue when attempting to capture the enemy team’s flag.

Quests

  • The Jade Forest
    • Lighting dramatically changes during the quest “Scouting Report: On the Right Track”.

User Interface

  • The world map does not include flight masters.
  • LUA error is produced when clicking on “Change Name/Icon” on an existing set in the equipment manager.
  • The flight map UI has scaling issues.
  • Scenario Accept Screen is missing background art.
  • Multiple icons are squished on the player’s minimap.
  • The filters on the minimap may not track properly if you turn them on and off several times.
  • Quest text is not instant. To enable Instant Quest Text, you’ll need to go to Options → Interface → Display.
  • Enemy nameplates are not updating health value as enemies take damage.
  • Tooltips on spells might display some text overlaps.

Known Issues – June 13

  • We are aware that there are world server crashes impacting players in Pandaria. We’re currently looking into that issue and potential solutions.
    • This should not impact players inside of dungeons or raids.
  • Gate of the Setting Sun
    • Pets may encounter pathing issues when jumping down to Raigonn. Players may need to dismiss and summon their pet.
