I assume you’re joking, but if you unironically think they’re a meme race that’s kind of sad. I have found emotional depth and variety in my RP here that I didn’t find anywhere else.

Chen in WC3 ( I think it was 3) was meant as an easter egg/joke, that devs made a full race of it… Well that’s on them. For me Pandaren (and the short races Gnomes/Goblins/Vulpera) are just meme races but everyone thinks differently.
Also it was Tehya who reffered to Pandaren as such first.
We have perfectly fine WoW races today that didn’t exist at all in WC3. What matters is how they are in WoW.

Humans are a meme race.
Both have memes (hello, Budd), it’s kinda unavoidable since it’s Blizzard, but it’s not very hard to get past it in my RP.
Blizzard is not the most thorough at worldbuilding but they have done more than enough substance to build on.

I don’t think you understand the thing I’m trying to say which is originally pandaren was 1 individual (Chen Stormstout) and very much a joke from the devs.
That they decided “hey let’s make a full race and continent out of this” based on quite stereotypical asian concepts is their choice.
Some people swear by Pandaren and a whole lot others dislike them. Both are valid.
As a human poster 110% we are the truest meme race to exist.
He didn’t feel like a joke. Sure, he didn’t have a very big role - he was just one in a substantially sized cast in the establishing of Orgrimmar - but it’s not like his dialogue and quest were wacky memes.

Budd is a meme, has always been presented as such and I never considered him a proper character.
HArrison jones is an indiana jones parody and anyone taking that serious is abit of a meme.
Touché, vrykul is also a good stereotype based race added to the game.
Neither is good imo
Tauren? Worgen? Kul Tirans?
Even the basic Stormwind humans are just a generic fantasy sword and board kingdom trope.
Have you quested through MoP? If so, did you consider the characters you encountered to all be memes?

Everything is in the end a boring idea based on boring fantasy tropes, though some are worse than others (And Tauren are frankly a big offender as well).
Though you seem more upset at me disliking pandaren than anything else, I still think pandaren are a waste of a race space and probably the worst race to be added.
If you think they’re the best that is just a different opinion.
Doesn’t change the fact they chose some very boring cliché asian culture and tropes to build the race on when they could have done something unique with the pandaren.
Bold of you to assume I read the quest text when I was VERY outspoken (and got a ban iirc) over my dislike of pandaria. But yeah I consider them quite abit of meme-y most of the time, when not dealing outright with the Sha or Mantids (and even then) they’re just haha funny fat pandas something something typical east-asian stereotyping from media.
You’re reading too much into it if you think I am upset. I am just trying to expand your view of them since I do not see how concluding that they are a meme can logically follow from taking in their lore.

Aha, I see. So it’s not a ‘Pandaren are X, therefore I concluded I dislike them’ but rather a ‘I want to dislike them, looking into it is unimportant’ situation.

No, I just thouroughly dislike Pandaren and for that matter I also dislike pandas irl as they’re useless mega fauna on a doomed path in existence 
It’s called an opinion and it doesn’t harm anyone as I respect people liking them.
…A bit curious to say ‘No’ and then affirm what I said, but sure.
At least the community seems to have grown up a fair bit about the whole thing since MoP, so that is nice.

You can’t just drop this on me and then pretend like you are the reasonable party here. If you are not interested in discussing in good faith, well, I am at least glad you made it clear before I went any further on it.

No race is truly a meme race. There’s just meme RPers, and there’s examples for near enough everyone.
Humans - Warhammer RPers
Worgen - Cringe alpha furries
Vulpera - Cringe regular furries
Pandaren - People playing into IRL Asian stereotypes and speaking broken English.
Dwarves - Idiot drunkards who shout, burp, and fart non-stop.
I’ve never been on Horde enough to confirm this but presumably there’s a sect of troll RPers who just pretend to smoke weed.
This doesn’t make any of them meme races, there’s compelling stories for all of them both made by players and Blizzard alike, even if sometimes the quirky stupid humour overpowers any sense of sincerity.
And obviously you don’t have to like any of these personally, but to disregard them all as meme-tier is a little closed minded in my opinion.

There’s a lot for humans, between the people basically RPing IRL fashion models, the noble guilds, the teenage archmages, child RPers tend to mostly be human, big strong angry dudes who have to win every fight…
And yet in spite of those negatives, there’s still great tales being told in who-knows how many guilds with humans at the centre of it all.
