The argument of taste is a complete dead end, whether the mount looks bad or not is your personal opinion.
My issue with the DF M+ mount is it doesn’t look like anything I’ve even seen anywhere in dragonflight.
Whether you like the death elemental mounts of SL or not, you still at least saw them relatively frequently in the maw and could clearly recognise they were part of the shadowlands theme and aesthetic.
Maybe but that’s the thing, I honestly couldn’t tell you because I spend so little time in those areas or surrounded by that content. I might’ve killed one for a group quest while levelling? Maybe?
And as far as “Native wildlife turned mount” they rank really really poorly for me. They look cool, sure, but I don’t see them as anywhere near as prolific as something like the Talbuk were in Nagrand.
You show me an armoredon in 10 years time and ask me what expansion it was from, I won’t have a clue.
They populated several major questing areas of the maw and were the model used for at least two rare / daily spawns.
By contrast armoredon are the subject of zero max level quests and just look like another random beast. They aren’t tamed or used by any native DF race like magmamoths and they aren’t a core thematic element to the expansion. I haven’t even seen one since the start of this patch at least.
They’re just a random beast. A cool looking random beast, but a random beast nonetheless.
I’m not even saying they’re a bad mount. They were just an odd choice for this specific reward.
I think its great that its a ground mount, i think flyingmount make no sense as price for beating dungeons. As for pvp its it is much more difficult to reach the Mount so its okay they get their big dragon every season but pushing mplus on 2k is like… doing nothing tbh.
