NEW FACTION guards instead of alliance

It was always like that. In neutral citys if you attack enemys then the guards will attack you.
It was like that since vanilla , example : Gadgetzan a neutran city where if you attack alliance player then the guards will be hostile toward you and attack you. The same happens when enemy player attack you then the guards attack him.

Did the combat log show if some other person healed you? Maybe they were flagged for pvp and healing someone aggro’s the guards on them. No matter if they are in pvp or not :thinking:

This do trigger the guards if it “refresh” after being hit by another player. Since it’s counted as a heal while interacting with NPC’s.

Since the guards attack you for defending yourself, all traits which in some way heal you may trigger a response from the guards. Gaining insanity from the PvP talent Driven to madness will also trigger guards. I also randomly trigger guards while being in combat with enemy players due to trinkets that have a proc chance. for example the alchemy stone can proc from self reliance, which is treated as a hostile action from some NPC’s.

I know blizzard have tried to fix these issues, however sometimes these things do still happend.

When it comes to the PvP flagging in BfA zones while WM is off, It seem to be related to the quest phasing of certain areas. Walking into horde territories usually flags you and sometimes these “are there” but only visible for horde’s or during other quest related phases. Many war campaign enemies also have bugs related to them, since they are afterall faction NPC’s in many cases.

However I have only once experienced it as my horde characters which are the only ones I play with WM set to off.

You can’t interact with players flagged in a different mode. If I try to heal you while you are flagged for PvP the game will prompt me that i can’t unless I activate PvP. Same thing happends the other way around aswell.

Not if you don’t grab them no. Dot on you ; run to your FP ; guards will help you. This does work both ways and yes Shrine is one of the easier ones to do this due to the closeness of the FP camps.

Don’t attack anyone, heal or ress fellow faction members and those guards ignore you.

Well that would depend in if he was dating some of them you know those velf women can drain the light out of you :joy:.But in all seriousness I don’t know what the op is on about either because he’s complaining about the npc guards that we both have he can just avoid those areas easy as 1 2 3.

He might have been dating a void elf and then the boi king might have interuped the relationship by sending guards and wanted poster :joy:

That could be the issue. If they were killed by a guard or flagged as hostile then ressing could have triggered the guard treating you as one of the aggressors.

But these guards were not there on release and they are nothing compared to gadgetzan old neutral zones these guards are like m+ 10 trash on fortified and are spawning out of thing air endlessly not like from old zones where you killed them and they stayed them if logic was prevent to campe put them to EVERY WORLD QUEST THEN since camping happends everywhere to me this is nonsesical and should not exist do not like pvp /ganked/griefed/attacked you can turn war mode off.
World pvp activity dicreased by these guards when you could before make group/raid and attack enemy and destroy them now you get instead of other faction fighting they all hide behind these OP MOST DANGEROUS WORLD Content enemy GUARDS they hide behind endless army of guards and then you get F this sht i am out everyone can tell world pvp decreased by these nonsensical changes and guess what ? Alliance still does not give a F do quest once and keep buff/quest again endlessly.

Give same quest/rewards to HORDE remove these GUARDS WHICH WERE NOT HERE FEW months ago and world pvp will live again buff rewards from assaults bounties are finally rewarding.

THIS ARMY of overpowered endless spawning guards out of thin air was not here before.

Depends. Guards at the Terrace of the Devoted will kill you if you let a few of them stack.
Tortollan guards… yea they tickle. But be prepared to not be able to make one step thanks to their endless supplies of catching nets.

did the terrace guards get buffed recently then? a few weeks ago i was there punching people off Cliffs with haymaker and dragoncharge. The guards were extremely weak

There were a lot of things not present in classic that are available now .adept to them .

These changes were not in BFA few montsh/weeks ago so ??? and i was reffering to something completly different as reply since guards back then were not +10 fortified trash endlessly spawning out of thin air this was not in BFA few months/weeks ago so your argument is irrelevant.

My argument is very valid and on point .you adept to the changes .it is an mmo not a single player game .it is suppose to change with time depending on people feedback .
Where did blizzard said that they will not make changes after launching of bfa ?

Nope, there was no action towards me good or bad from nothing else then from guards.

I was not hit by other players at all. Just by guards.

This was on horde character in Voldun Terrace of the Devoted.

I am wondering if what happened is: i land on gryphon. Someone starts to fight guards (they are right next to fp) and guards aoe and aoe hits my character (apparently their aoe can hurt even when not in WM?). When “resounding protection” triggers (it is timed so it keep triggering all the time, not reactive to attacks just updates on it’s own) it somehow is seen as pvp act and that flagged me. Sounds like a bug/bad design on the system. And sounds like system that someone can use to grief people who land from flight path.

All yellow (neutral) faction guards are completely retarded and mentally impaired, attacking you for as much as ppl walking into certain of your aura effects.

And yes, the current system is just randomly spawning shait on you out of thin air.
Which is quite the irony considering that originally guards were fix npcs and way stronger, then blizz went out of their way to reduce them in strength, just to now spawn them in groups of 5 cause welcome to reasonable and coherent way of managing your games.

Just like if you’re healing/buffing someone who are currently hostile to the guards due to PvP too.

This is basically a given seeing as you were afk, not flagged for PvP, and the guards are ‘neutral’ :slight_smile:

Legit interest to know what exactly the bug is though. My hunch is you’re right, and that because the guards are neutral, they can actually hit anything regardless of PvP flagging. Suspect it’s mostly an oversight by Blizz.

Do we have any other examples of neutral guards? My memory is only suggesting the Aldor+Scryers, but they were in a sanctuary zone where there is no PvP possible.

(On that note, why not just make these sanctuary zones rather than try to create a new and buggy mechanism for keeping the peace?)
