Seriously, after 20 years of high level players ruthlessly and relentlessly killing newbies and low level players at every possible chance, and more often than not even bragging about it, this is probably a breath of fresh air for everyone with even the slightest shred of decency and honor, and if nothing else a well deserved and long overdue comeuppance.

War Mode is 7 years old, and even before the war mode, the pvp realms were a choice, no thumbs up for the lowbie gangers, but absolutely no sympathy for the receiving end either.

PvP servers you get a point. War Mode not so much given it grants an xp buff. For alliance it used to be 30% even. (in the event that the XP buff got completely scraped, which I wont go verify now, then ye nobody can cry if they die).

But tbh the scaling and low chars obliterating high levels isnt anything new. We had it in the past as well and we will have it in the future. Just a result of scaling and the removal of defense rating etc.

i still get a point with the war mode, you can’t have your cake and eating it too, if you want to min/max in a pvp enviroment you’re going to accept the pvp, the buff is to cover for any pvp “delays”

low chars obliterating high levels isnt anything new

it’s new to me, i quit retail half way through df, i knew of the ridiculous damage of lowbies in dungeons but i did not knew how it affect pvp
my point is, the whole “role playing” thing goes out the window with such horrible designs (getting dazed and dismounted by mobs you can literally one shot is one of such things)

The buff was to lure people into it. It lured PvEers mainly, not PvPers (especially given its buffs to AP acquisition and the aforementioned xp). When ganking became too much people just opted out of it if it meant faster leveling or returned later if they were after the AP. The warmode buff has never really been a pvp reason for most.

Yeah be careful with your low level alts in PvP everyone, or Blizzard might start banning people like they did with the Timewalking twinks. Shifts the blame to the players instead of fixing the scaling-performance immediately.

They should revert timewalking so it scales everyone to level 30, you can out level your gear too quickly and then be completely useless.
