It still has a healthy population both according to different sources and looking in game on the server (which I did).
Making people on low pop realms connected to an entire polish server (even tho it officially isn’t) , effectively killing off those low pop servers in the process (mass server changes) , wasn’t the solution
@Thimli: Majority of my posts in this thread are replies to Esploratore and a handful of other people and Punyelf only has a total of 5 posts in the entire thread.
@Holystyle: MVPs are requested to use a single posting character and most of us adhere to that request. Also, Jånek possesses both skills and knowledge I and Punyelf do not, which should make it painstakingly obvious we are not the same person. And before you ask, neither one of us is Esploratore, either. Besides, I would be suffering from severe mental problems, if I often disagreed with myself.
EDIT: Not to mention the fact that I have seen Jånek type answers while I do. I do not know anyone in the entire world, who would be able to type multiple answers concurrently, I only have two hands and since I am a slow writer / typer, I need them both.
The problem is your constant posting of pure speculations (you did the same on another thread) is not very constructive. please stick to the facts. You are basically forgiving some of the bad decisions on connections by implying there will be other connections in the future (could be next week , next month , in 2 years ?).
Fact 1: Several posters have specifically requested me to make speculative posts.
Fact 2: There are multiple speculative posters in this thread (who are NOT me).
Fact 3: Connection program 1 ended (barely) before the following expansion launched (and, speculation, the ending was rushed as needed connections were left undone). It is therefore a fully logical assumption to think that connection program 2 will terminate before Shadowlands launch.
Fact 4: There are only a limited number of possible options for connections (I, Jånek, Esploratore and others have mentioned / discussed several of the underlying reasons).
Fact 5: Due to 4, it is even more difficult to make connections, if one applies even more restrictive rules to what “can not be done”. Due to 3, extremely long connection chains rapidly get more and more unlikely. In fact, several theorhetical scenarios are no longer available unless Blizzard starts to make connections on multiple days each week (in my opinion very unlikely).
Fact 6: It is way too late and I am getting cranky, which is a reliable indicator for a need to sleep for a bit.
They’re talking about the realm connections how is that derailing? And you say it like other people don’t speculate either. Another thread has requests as absurd as connecting Outland with Kazzak.
It’s like you think MVPs, unlike us, are not allowed to state thier opinions.
So your solution is to come to this thread and try to force the topic (i.e. derail) about the MVPs instead of the realm connections?
I don’t even know what thread you’re talking about.
You’re more than welcome to open a separate thread about it if it concerns you so much. You can complain about MVPs there all you want.
Considering most threads that get removed are due to people in general failing to remain civil I’d find that hard to believe without seeing it with my own eyes.
Forum policy is don’t be rude and/or hateful. We’re talking about a discussion between real people not a video game PEGI has nothing to do with it.
I don’t go around calling real people “stupid alliance/horde” more than I go marching into the front line of a war. Both activities might seem acceptable in-game universe but we’re talking about real life here.
BLUE HERE CONFIRMED they can not say/will actively ignore and say nothing to topic beyond to threads type of " TRANSMOG RATE IT" /“JOKE XYZ” “THIS IS SO PRETTY”
All fluiff they do not and never respond to anything of “VALUE” beyond this fluff and they do it daily.
SO these forums are just for trashing saying how stupid they are while saying it in PEGI 3 language you get response on TWITTER sooner then HERE.
This forums are just big joke with PEGI 3 ruleset.
IF you have something of value to post " use in game suggestion/bug report".
And this thread was not even made by forum poster so i do not give a single about it.
No we did not. Discussion on further connection possibilities was well within the thread theme.
I already told you that MVPs have zero moderation power and that I was told by a non-green poster that someone sabotaged the thread by posting highly inappropriate things in it. In comparison, the megathread on a highly related topic created by Ishayoe still stands open and available with 700+ posts in it. And the posts by me in it are in the same general format I used in the deleted thread. In fact, there are some now partially redundant crossposts in it as some of the reference material is now gone (excluding some backups that I have on my own hard drive).
Connection topics are forcibly speculative to a degree, because Blizzard generally only shows us about a week’s worth forward. Esploratore, Jånek, I and some other people have put a lot of thought into various options and our view differences fit in perfectly in terms of relevancy as discussion topics. Speculation was the name of the game even during connection program 1. I am saddened by the fact that there is very little left of the old forum info. That far back I rarely made backups of my posts. In hindsight, I should have. Many of them would even be partially relevant even now, many years later…
If you dislike speculation, you are quite welcome to ignore my posts. I, on the other hand, remain happy that Esploratore, Jånek, Anroka, Punyelf, Gráinne and many others find them worth their time to read as I generally need quite a bit of time to type them…
They might need time to type them but they don’t contribute useful information. Implying a connection will be made “one day” which could literally be in years from now and justifying terrible connection choices does not work.
@Thimli: Your opinion, luckily not shared by everyone.
Except that I clearly noted that it is my strong belief that the connection program 2 will terminate before Shadowlands launch in the same format connection program 1 ended just barely before the launch of the next expansion. Which certainly is not years from now. If you have a differing opinion, spill it out so that others may examine it as well.
Im Just saying, they are doing exactly this in Korea of all places this week, maybe they will start in other regions as well.
Yesterday (Wednesday morning Korea time) they connected Deathwing/Alexstraza to Rexxar/Wildhammer/Windrunner.
Right after that was successful they announced that burning Legion/Stormrage is connecting to Durotan on September 4…
This also means that we got 17 connections worldwide (minus china) this week
There are 8 connections mentioned on the Chinese forums that supposedly happened Tuesday but without a Netease account its impossible to check them (nor do I have any data what the region looked like before the connection programme).
@Jånek: That is a most interesting piece of news. Any insight into the possibility that Blizzard might actually want to finish program 2 before even pre-patch, which would massively cut down on available time?
Nope its impossible to say, idk what goes on in blizzard HQ, but before this week they had all the connections done on Thursday (US time, which given the times they do the connections at, its probably initiated by technicians stateside)… disregarding like the first few connections they tried at weekly maintence times, this week is the first week were they connected some realms on Tuesdays.
Korea + Oceanic servers each saw 1 connection yesterday & china supposedly had 8 but I cant verify if the Chinese ones were successful or not. this was the first oceanic server connection but previously all attempts on Chinese & Korean servers happened at the same time as EU connection maintenance.
