New store mount: $90 Brutosaur

So in 6 years time?

I am just tired of the bad faith silencing some people do on the forums… People love and play the game. They have some thoughts how things could be better or critisim towards the game and their met with

‘‘Dont like it?! dont play it go away you low life scum >:c Your still playing soo?’’

I mean what even is this? Its like if you play wow you have to love everything blizzard does unconditionally. And If you speak up against anything. People take it like a personal insult.

Can’t wait to see till they release the sales numbers and we found out how many people bought this…

10000000000000000000000000000 USD. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would agree with you if there would be no way buying mount with in-game currency. You do have a lot of valid points

Welcome (back) to the wonderful (lul) world of the WoW forums! Still surprised? :eyes:

Keep it grinding peasants. Timmy with 1 swipe achieved same what you achieved in couple of months grinding for your long boi.
Everything is pointless in this game:d

Approximately, yeah.

As I see it, then the Saga will either have a finale that works as a natural conclusion to the over-arcing narrative of Warcraft, and that will be a good moment – if any – to also conclude one’s own journey I feel. In this case, mine.

And if that isn’t the outcome, then it will be because Blizzard chooses to do like they did with The Jailer and insert another hidden big baddie to prolong the narrative and drag it out just to keep the money machine going.
That will be super disappointing if that’s the outcome, and then that will also be a good moment to quit, because it’ll be the realization that Blizzard has no meaning in mind with the story, and so why stick around?

So that’s basically my thinking. It’s because this Saga holds the promise of a conclusion - either a satisfying one or a disappointing one - that I think it will ultimately lead to my own conclusion with the game.

I don’t intend to play any game forever. At some point in time I will inevitably stop playing WoW, so I may as well choose an opportune moment. And I think the ending of the World Soul Saga is going to be that moment.

That’s what I’m aiming for at least.

I’ve played this game for more than 20 years, so the notion that I can just quit on a whim is unrealistic. As long a process it has been to get more attached to the game over the years, as long a process will it be to detach oneself from the game, I think.
That’s why I started that process early. So I’m settled when I decide it and I don’t come running back.

I am apparently a very slow learner…

WoW Players : Oh please pee into it first so I can feel doubly smug!

If Blizzard knew hundreds of people wouldn’t line up on their droves to buy this thing they wouldn’t have done it.

So maybe all the blame for this utterly shameless cash grab doesn’t all land on Blizzard’s doorstep if people are only too willing to part with their cash.

I eagerly await the “oh but it’s their money they can do what they like with it!”

Yeah. They can. So why are you complaining. They spent their money how they wanted right?

And given the demand for the blooming thing to return anyway, was anyone REALLY surprised that Blizzard would throw people the easiest way to get it?

Why?

Blizzard stopped putting effort into the only content I enjoy years ago (m+) - which is why I didn’t play SL or DF.

I’m here to give this expac a try and if it continues to suck I won’t be too sad bc of it

There are already people who have bought it, standing at the story event, showing it off and getting ripped into by people xD

It’s just a sad outcome in the long-term, because it inevitably shapes who the players of Blizzard’s games are.

People who have cash to spare, and a willingness to use it.
People who like MTX in games and enjoy the product experience as much as the game experience.

And the people who are just here to play a video game and get the Blizzard quality experience that Blizzard have been synonymous with, well they slowly leave, don’t they?

Isn’t that what’s happened across all Blizzard’s games?

The people who still play Hearthstone are those who simp for store bundles and pay hundreds of dollars for golden cards. The down to earth card players have already moved on.

Same with Overwatch. Those who still play are those who are okay with the shop and the monetized skins and the lack of game content. Those who could accept the total abandonment of PvE in favor of battle passes.
Those who didn’t like the new direction for the game, well they’ve quit, haven’t they?

Same with WoW.
WoW has less players today than it had in the past. Who have left over the years? Well who remains? People who fork over $90 for a mount and buy Deluxe Editions and 12 months subscriptions and sit on twitch for 4 hours and put money aside for a box of Mountain Dew.
That’s the playerbase that remains.

That’s kind of sad, I think.
Blizzard’s veteran fanbase used to be a very devoted bunch of gamers who played Blizzard games for the gameplay part of it.
That’s not really the impression anymore.

I don’t think they really care tbh lol

Why do you ask when I explained why in the post you just quoted? Didn’t you understand what I said?

If Blizzard couldn’t make easy money by selling expensive mounts on their store, then they’d have to work harder to satisfy players like yourself to buy their game and play it by actually making the gameplay content better.

But they don’t really have that incentive anymore, because it doesn’t matter if you quit because you don’t like the dungeons in the game. A couple of players buying the $90 mount will outweigh that revenue loss, plus it’s cheaper on the development side of things to recolor a mount than improving the dungeon gameplay content.

So gamers become expendable in favor of shoppers.

Well to be fair WoW ended with the Lich King death… anything after that is just made up to keep it going :stuck_out_tongue:

Well the main bad guy is now gone to the next expac so I wouldn’t hold out that it gets resolved in 2 more lol unless they Guldan her :stuck_out_tongue:

Played from TBC just before to Cata zero breaks MoP onwards is where I sub here and there, when I come back its worth it for me.

If you wanted to send a message it was in Cata when they first did the store mounts…

Apathy is death.
