News on older reputations implementation

They actually explicitly said that certain reputatios will not be account wide.

While they didn´t mention factions that are hostile towards each other such as Cartels /Bloodsail, Oracle /Wildheart, or Aldor /Scryers, I think that those won´t be all set to exalted account wide is a safe bet for that exat reason.

But they did explicitly use fhe example of the winterpelt furbolgs from DF “Because you´re not gaining a reputation but learning a language”, and I think it´s safe to assume that similar reasoning will apply to a few other “standalone” reps such as Sporeggar, Timbermaw, or Hydraxians that are not required by anything.

But the major ones, such as expansion-“main” factions, faction cities etc will all be account wide eventually.

From Blizzard’s own words we can have a reasonable expectation that all expansions will at some point have most of their reps shared in the war band, the ones which are not shared being the minority.

It is too early yet to say that Blizzard lied, but it is very natural to ask when we might see more of the reputations shared and remind Blizzard that some of us are looking forward to it.

And I would definitely expect it to be implemented before the end of the current expansion - otherwise they will move to another selling point in the next expansion and never do it like the dance studio.

I know

But I did find their reasoning for the Winterpelts to be stupid - I still think it’s stupid, that aside, I definitely think there’s a point in not making the rep that come with a “increase A means decrease B” account shared

There have probably been attempts going on in the background to try implement all reps accountwide. People got some faction specific reps reset during pre-patch and that was never fixed. So, I don’t think they know how at this point.

Would indeed be nice with shadowlands and legion as someone suggested since there’s no faction specifics in those expansions. Many players like mounts, there’s a few of those tied to earning extra rep beyond exalted in those expansions.

there is no pressure .eu forums are not read by developer team :dracthyr_crylaugh:

Warband-Wide Reputation

Reputation in The War Within will become account-wide for all reputation systems introduced throughout the expansion. No more grinding for Exalted across multiple characters!

When you have a Warband reputation, any progress you make on one character will be shared across all characters. Reputation rewards are also unlocked for all characters. Once a reputation is converted to be Warband-wide, the progress will display as the furthest any character has achieved.

There are a few reputations from Dragonflight that are being converted into this system:

Renown

  • Dragonscale Expedition
  • Maruuk Centaur
  • Iskaara Tuskarr
  • Valdrakken Accord
  • Loamm Niffen
  • Dream Wardens

Standard

  • Wrathion & Sabellian
  • Cobalt Assembly
  • Artisan’s Consortium
  • Azerothian Archives
  • Soridormi

Unfortunately, certain reputation systems will be opted-out of this system largely due to having specific elements that wouldn’t make sense to share across all characters. Examples of this include the Winterpelt Furbolg and Glimmerogg Racer reputations. These are also considered to be minor reputation systems that wouldn’t be significantly impactful in a Warband-wide system.

Legacy Account-Wide Reputations

As of right now, mainly Dragonflight and future War Within reputation systems will be adapted into the Warbands Reputation system. This leaves questions regarding legacy account-wide reputations. Many players have “Exalted” status with the factions of previous expansions and are probably wondering if those will eventually be implemented into the Warbands system. In an interview with MrGM on YouTube, Blizzard mentioned that there is no exact timeline commitment at this stage, but the goal is look back through time and implement old reputation systems into Warbands when the time allows. Blizzard also made note that the same analysis that was used to determine what Dragonflight Reputations will be converted will be applied when the time comes to look through old reputation systems.

Precisely.

It always felt incomplete since the beginning and that’s yet to have been touched or even mentioned since. While I know they “said they would just add the newest expansions”, why would they, I always looked and will always look at the whole game as a whole piece, I don’t care only about what’s new… If they add something to the game, they should and must think and deliver on all of it, not just a small % with the excuse that it’s new and everything else is old. The game IS old.

If it’s an account-wide change, it shall include all the game and all the expansions. It is a paid service too on top of it. If the feature wasn’t ready yet, then they should’nt have released it. This should be the standard. And we should demand it. See why this is exactly why I’m sure the player Housing will be half-baked? Because everything else they do is.

I understand you’re trying to be helpful, like you always are Puny, but that kinda just reinforced exactly how I feel about it and why this feels off, very off. Even “nice things” taste poisoned lol.

This is fair. But let’s also be real, it’s not like those reputations are nearly as hard and they were to farm before. Some it makes sense to stay character-bound, but most don’t. And the excuse of “breaking immersion” or whatever, how are we caring that much with sets like the pajamas blizzcon one? Was that supposed to be immersive? I’m calling a lot of them excuses to save time tbh.

First, they should fix the display bug for the Dragonflight reputations. I still missing some on my main character.

I would love for them to backdate further with the system. It would be great for my alts even just getting access to old recipes and complete collections. I do hope it’s not something they leave for too long but with no further mention of updating I’m not hopeful it will be in the near future.

I don’t know how they were to farm “before”, but I do know that in 2019/2020 it still took a long time to grind - getting 1-2 rep per mob is a heck of a lot of mobs to go through just to get from neutral to exalted.

And personally I don’t think it makes sense not to make all* reputations account/warband shared

*well, all except rep that decrese another, like aldor/scryer, bloodsail buccaneers/steamwheedle cartel, oracles/frenzyheart. Maybe the barracks bodyguards from WoD, maybe

Also on you on this chapter. A little why I’m trying to apply some pressure in the hopes of seeing some sort of audience wanting it might rish. I know I’m being naive.

But yes. Would be phenomenal if I could just grab the recipes on my alts. No way I’m farming those reps again to get 2 items… ^^ let’s hope for the best.

I did it years ago, like 2011-2012, and it took me weeks, and I was farming with some friends.
I was also way younger, wasn’t nearly as effective and the guides did miss a lot of information that would make me do it fast.

Now I’ve also done this again, during the Hallow’s End event, took me around 6h of rep farm from Hated to Exalted (I did it the hard way to keep all reps exalted, and not lose it entirely). I’m pretty sure it took me less time farming this all the hard way, than before the quest skip one.

I did a lot of reps and I’m ok if people suffer less.
But with account wide it’s still required to gather said rep.
So they still suffer :grimacing:
