I thought I was the only one. I also hate the idea of a bard class.
Mail and cloth tank would be cool indeed. For mail tank my suggestion would be a void class that soaks damage with portals, and an ability to shapeshift into a Void Aberration. Cloth tank just has to be Machinist/Tinker in a Mech
What for new class ? They cant balance what we have now, no need for another 2-4 specs to be in game .
What they should do instead is , remove augvokers as they clearly cant seem to find a line for balancing them .
In lower keys they are useles, in higher they are must have , they are not real dps, yet they occupy a dps slot … its simply a mess.
Technomages (as Babylon 5). They use advanced technology to give the appearance of magic, that might actually be magic. They can melee and range cast.
Augmentation tools should go to Healers, as most of Healers may do some attacks. They don’t do as much dmg as DPS, so give them augmentation tools…
And yes, remove AugEvokers, and give Evoker long range and maybe tanks.
I’d rather see them have a battle mage spec
The nice thing about battle mage or spellblade as a tank for mages is, that the class is built for that already. They wouldn’t need to change the general tree much
Necromancy is not Demonology. Although Warlock has the Affliction tree that gets into the necrotic territory. But Warlock is about Demons. His pets are Demons, not UDs. Thats what the Deathknight commands.
So the Warlock lore/tooltips should get rewritten imo and re-established. Affliction should be about malices and diseases brought by curses. Demon plain should be Warlocks playfield (which is). Thus, DK could maybe get a more ranged spec.
Peon class for the hardcore players
I think we should vote between tinkerer and bard for the next hero class, then it’s a win either way
Bard who can make his own instrument?
I vote for bard.
For me it just kinda belongs into a fantasy game
I don’t want new classes… Simply because I dont believe blizzard can re invent the wheel that many times…
I am worried future new classes are just gonna be hybrids that do the same as existing classes just better… In the future why play the old classes? When there is a new meta class that does everything your class does. Just better…
Its funny every time they add new class they just have to make it a powerhouse, almost like to promote it or show how good the iteration were if everyone plays it (because its overtuned beyond reason) then it breaks the whole game for years to come and in the end it adds to the pile with the rest that they cant balance, so theres a fair point in that argument lol, I also would like more rework and tinkering done to old classes. Theres alot clunky and awkward things in old classes that would need modernized to match the current game.
Ah, so exactly like now, that is?
Why play warlock in PvE when mage is superior? Or feral when there are the far superior rogues? Or Shadow Priest when Afflication warlock excist?!
They’re all different skin but with the, more or less, same core function and gameplay loop.
I have a great idé.
Instead of making a new class. How about they add new Specs to existing classes.
Look at SOD, it added warlock, shaman and rogue tanks!
It would give the classes that cant really do anything other than dps more options.
I can see warlock and shaman tanking but not rogue.
Rogue is by definition a sneaky class, making it a tank is just turning it into a warrior without shield.
I would definitely like a gun spec for rogues though. Fits the fantasy of the class and sounds really fun.
As far as “they can’t balance so no more”, classes have never been balanced since Vanilla. Following this logic, half of the classes we have now wouldn’t exist.
Innovation and fun is not always fair, get over it.
Tinkerer. If not 4th non-dps spec for Warlock, Mages, Rogues and Hunters.
Rogue do know magic so they could be given illusions. For poison/venom, give them hallucinogenics.
There you got a “dodge” tank that drugs up their foes and disorient them with illusions.
Ok that’s not bad, it could work, I guess they could come up with some fun new skills.
