No +15 invites as priest healer

Hm sofar people only hate priest (maybe u play disc) if it was bursting affix week. That gonna change in SL and they made it to easier to handle disc priests.

Other hands probably lack of xperience.

Clearly not for the majority of puggers. The place has tons of mobs around the place. People ninja pull like there’s no tomorrow.

I have more trouble with freehold than ML with people ninja pulling. I’ve seen 2 ninja pulls in motherlode since season 1.

To put it simply, priests are not considered “viable” for M+ by the majority who think comp is everything even for low M+. And here comes the follow-up wall of text for that, skip to TL;DR at the bottom if you wish.

Why aren’t they considered viable? Because it’s true that they’re not optimal for pushing very high keys. People look at the stats of parties that complete high keys and see only resto druids and holy paladins and assume that all other healers are complete trash. Resto shaman suffers from the same attitude to an extent.
The average people playing anything from +2 to +15 think that the reason their groups fail is composition even though it’s mostly lack of practice, skill, and knowledge of their own class. So they look to improve their chances by mimicking the comps used by those doing +28’s.

It does not help that the “meta” healers can withstand a lot of mistakes that the “non-meta” ones perhaps can’t. As an example, a few times I’ve tried doing keys with pugs and had dps that refuse to interrupt, tanks that overpull and everyone completely ignoring affixes. When I’m perma-stunned by 4 refreshment vendors in a row in Motherlode on bursting week, the response I get is “I did this yday with a druid they have 0 problem you’re just bad” and “why play priest -.- -.- omg I knew this would happen”. Just because a druid or paladin CAN withstand more dps/tank mistakes, people think it’s the standard. They don’t want to try any harder than they absolutely have to. It doesn’t cross their minds that the druid/paladin is likely cursing the stupid party in their minds and thinking “you’re so lucky I’m a druid/paladin, bless whoever gets stuck with you lot next”. People never notice either that the healer who “had no problem” didn’t add them, didn’t stay to push the key… otherwise the party wouldn’t be “stuck” with me as their healer now would they.

And finally, I hope people stop telling you to use your own key as if that solves anything. Sure doesn’t for me - people don’t join because I’m a priest. I’ve even had one or two people seriously whisper me asking if I could dps in stead and they’ll bring a restodruid friend to heal because “priest isn’t good for M+ anyway”, like they’re doing me a service by joining or something… when it’s a freaking +4.

TL;DR: It’s a mess, community perception is warped by +28 comps, play shadow for keys but set loot spec to healer. Or join a pvp guild that runs quick hc raids for gear if you can. And no, it likely won’t get better in SL, so don’t hold your breath. It’s been like this since M+ began, dungeons just aren’t priest’s niche.

Play archeage. :man_shrugging:

I’m not so sure. Disc priest with unholy nova seems very good for big pulls.

At that point find a guild that does some m+, did that myself so i could play w e i wanted. LFG is just a bit sad in general, they want their runs to go smooth when it comes to randoms joining : )

I should’ve clarified I meant for holy. I hope you’re right and disc will be more viable again. Blizz can’t seem to decide what direction to take it :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Yeah bursting is why l gave up on disc. “Guys can you kill em one and one I need to do dps to heal” and the dps just go zug-zug and aoe down a pack of 6 without any other mobs in sight
