Didn’t see any message in game, but maybe was too busy fighting.
They do sometimes have additional maintenance windows.
Players have been baying for bug fixes since pre patch went out. Personally I’m quite happy for a maintenance to come along any day of the week right now if it means stuff gets fixed.

Coming back to WoW is nice to see the issues we had 20 years ago are still plaguing it. Feels like 2005. Funny enough i haven’t encountered another mmo as bad as WoW, at updates and downtime…
prolly maintenance was meant to be 7.00 to 8.00 am (pdt)
The lack of information is just sad. I had to actually google why servers are down. Cmon guys. Simple notification banner takes like few minutes to make.
Yup there was a timer to shut down servers.
But no info in game, on the launcher, On X, or the forums to explain why after waiting 1.5hrs for LFR they shut the game down on a Friday lol

The maintenance is announced in the desktop client. (Edit: if you can’t see it, it’s supposed to be just an hour, so ends at “4am”)

no idea, random guess would be something with the event/currency? or mobs dropping to much, something something
getting retrieveing server list now
On a serious note i hope is fixing the event for <70s. the boss takes way to long to kill for leveling toons XD
There are other additional fixes and updates that happen aside from the weekly maintenance but they are also usually advertised in advance, even if it’s only through in-game messaging because it’s last minute. This time there was nothing which makes me think something else could be happening here.
