No Turbo Boost for Casuals. WHY Blizzard?

Isn’t it a basic rule in design: If you introduce a recurring element in which a player base gets used to, you can’t wall it off in the next iteration! Even worse is that we’re already in the late stages of this season. Not to speak of that Delves already have heroic item lvl trinkets, the only difference is: Many are terrible. So gaining access to the same lvl trinkets from other sources shouldn’t be walled off, at least not this far into the season. Make it a turbo boost season for all!

Good evening. I will say that clichéd line, “I don’t usually post on here…” but I felt the need to vent a little.

To say I was disappointed when I logged in on Wednesday evening, ready to FINALLY get some trinkets through Turbo boost…I was greeted by a strange elitist snub wall of a quest.
LFR does not count towards turbo boost.
Ah hang on, they did this last time, realised their mistake and changed it fairly quick.

Next day, nothing. Day after, nothing. So this is deliberate?

Why? Why make things FUN mid expansion then take away the carrot at the end of the final season? I don’t have the time to commit to raiding heroic or mythics anymore. (unfortunately RL sometimes sucks in this regard)

I also don’t have the inclination or the patience to deal with mouthy toxic trash that has become all too prevalent in the game.

I genuinely just don’t understand the reasoning and logic behind this choice. How does it impact that small number who are doing heroic and mythic raiding? Their ‘prestige’ isn’t threatened by letting people who only have time for LFR have some heroic loot, (Like last season….why give it to us then take it away?)

Before someone says ‘Do normal/heroic/mythics bruh it aint hard bruh.’ You are correct, the content isn’t difficult. It’s the people who gate keep and the time required that are difficult.

Anyway, maybe at some point we will be graced with a blue post response on this but I assume it will be ‘This was deliberate and working as intended’ rubbish yet again.
N.B. Btw thanks blizzard, after 18 or 19 years I’ve finally cancelled my subscription. I’ve got a funny feeling this is a bad precursor.

did four tries today, waited til it expired with same 703 mage: am on remix now getting bronzes for mounts. This whole ‘non RF’ change is really annoying me. I just bought midnight too. This whole farming RF was going to be my ongoing thing for alts til next expansion: not because I wanted to take a spot in normal or heroic but just for the fun of having a few good items on my alts. Thanks Blizzard, wish you guys would read your forums or at least ask players what they think of these sort of changes before putting them in game

you can always make your own groups

seems like system is working exactly as intended from the amount of rage of people who refuse to even do normal raid and want hc quality bis trinkets :0

work on your gear then - you have 3 more months to do normal - plenty of time
you can also always buy a boost for gold if you are to lazy to gear up a bit

Might not have 3 more months at age 66…and unless you can redo normal or heroic raids (like you could in RF) then you get one token per week. So its going to take seven weeks to get the three tokens starting from this week. And my dog is already licking my elbow asking for attention.

To think there are people that consider NORMALS [which is hell of a lot quicker and easier to do compared to LFR, especially for the final boss] is for the ‘elite’…

I am really sorry that you are having issues, the only thing that comes in mind is to try next wensday or Thursday in the afternoon there are many more groups compared to saturday/sunday.

Fated/Awakend seasons and Turbo boosts have not had a recurring element. Awakened was different from Fated which was different from Turbo boost which is in its 2nd iteration. And if you want to argue that at least all supported LFR before, that isnt true either since the Slime cat in Fated was not unlockable via LFR.

If anything the reacurring element of these is that they constantly change the rules.

It’s already in its second iteration so it’s a reoccurring elements in which the baseline was set that LFR was counted for Turbo boost. This means you set the bar of what rules and reward are set. To then go in a second iteration and set the bar higher, while in season 2 they first said they didn’t want an unbalanced power creep towards season 3 and then later on budged to change it to LFR or higher. But now we’re heading into a new expansion with no season four as announced this reasoning for normal mode or higher is invalid.

How is it a recurring element if its in its 2nd iteration and LFR contribution was removed?

recurring

adjective

  1. occurring again periodically or repeatedly.

Turbo Boost 1 wasn’t planned to have LFR count, but they changed their minds. Turbo Boost 2 doesn’t have LFR. Where is the recurring factor?

Man The Elitist Entitlement oozing out here is so disgusting.

It was done like this in the Past and suddenly it isnt. Its just dumb. Of course it probably isnt for players like you who would moan and whine "filthy casuals getting something for not much of an effort” - super late in the expansion where it has zero impact besides more enjoyment for the players who cant do the higher content due to of pletora of reasons or because they dont want to interact with players like you - cant blame them.

Fated / Awakened Seasons (S4) are not Turbo Boost. Simple as that.

But are labeled and advertised as such.

So if we want to go really nitty gritty and absurd, this is false advertisment, and if i resubbed for wow seeing this ad in my mails and on the bnet launcher, in theory i could sue blizzard for said “false advertisment”.

Its just a dumb move. Only People who see themself as “better” than others would find this a good change and celebrate it. Which says much about their character.

“Players can purchase Mythic and Heroic gear but will require the associated boss to have been defeated at least once in any difficulty to purchase Hero track gear and at least once in Mythic difficulty to purchase Myth track gear.”

Is it false advertisement? I dont read any misleading information.
The community confuses S4 Awakened and Fated with Turbo Boost.

To those who are saying that there isnt a recurring theme, I think you might be mistaken.

End of Dragonflight, during the ‘turbo boost’ season or whatever they called it (let’s face it, it’s just a different name for the same event) they gave us Antique Bronze Bullion from LFR that could be exchanged for Heroic level equipment.

2nd season of Warwithin turbo boost. We could get Dinar coins for heroic level loot.

My point still stands, why give the majority of their playerbase that only does LFR or Delves, and be honest it is the majority, something fun then have it taken away by the Fun Police.

I am yet to hear a decent or compelling reason or arguement for their decision except, ‘ geet gud’ or ‘normal aint hard’. That isnt a reason, it’s a strawman.

I am just hoping that someone from blizzard might actually grow a spine and give us a honest response. Not Likely though.

Costing them players, is intended?

S3 TWW is not a fun season like S4 Shadowlands or S4 Dragonflight. It is a normal season, like every season.

You could get the Dinars via LFR, which was a confirmed bug. Now its working as intended, a bad luck protection.
That is the asnwer. Accept it and move on.

Its not a strawman when it is the solution.

I’d love to see the source of that confirmation.
I must have missed that.

They weren’t. Fated and Awakened were advertized as the “fun seasons”, since Blizzard needed a 4th season for expansions that had only 2 content patches, also they were recap seasons where all the raids were scaled up and active.

Turbo boost, or at least the vendor was advertized as “bad luck protection FOR RAIDERS”.

And again Fated didnt unlock Slime Cat with LFR, TB 1 didnt originally want LFR included but was added because of a bug. So out of the 4 so far only Awakened really supported LFR.
