In the war campaign of the final major patch, Sylvanas Windrunner openly betrays the Horde player no matter whether they sided with her or against her over the course of the war campaign. Taking those who are most loyal to her, she abandons the Horde and uses the Blade of the Black Empire to raise the Black Empire from the sea, seeking to bind N’Zoth and his minions to her will.
Uniting what’s left of the Horde under his banner, Varok Saurfang either thanks the Horde player for their aid or proclaims that this is their chance to seize redemption, after willingly serving as a pawn of Sylvanas. Meanwhile, the Alliance prepares to strike the final blow on a crippled and divided Horde, only to find out that Sylvanas has already turned her back on it, as she no longer has any use for it. The wise King Anduin Wrynn proclaims that this was always a war to stop Sylvanas and that with her no longer at the helm, there is no need to fight the Horde, now led by the honourable Varok Saurfang.
Should Sylvanas successfully dominate N’Zoth, she will have enough power to destroy what’s left of both the Horde and the Alliance. So the two factions band together to take on the Banshee Queen’s legions of void-enhanced undead and enthralled n’raqi horrors.
Important characters include Calia Menethil, who seeks to liberate her people from the tyranny of Sylvanas, Varok Saurfang, who sees saving the world from the actions of Sylvanas as the Horde’s chance to redeem itself, Anduin Wrynn, who seeks to achieve peace once and for all with the defeat of Sylvanas, Jaina Proudmoore, who now sees that the Horde’s evil comes from its tyrants and not its people and Xal’atath, the enigmatic entity who was liberated from the Blade of the Black Empire and wants to put a stop the schemes of the Banshee Queen, for unknown reasons.
The final raid takes place in the heart of this elevated Black Empire, Ny’alotha. While I won’t speculate on all of the different bosses, N’Zoth is likely the final boss, with Sylvanas close to completing the ritual that will bind the Old God to the Blade of the Black Empire, putting all of his power at her disposal. As we put down N’Zoth, he whispers a few cryptic messages, claiming that this was all part of a greater plan. Sylvanas shrieks that we’re all fools who ruined everything, who do not know what we have done. She is imprisoned to face judgement for her actions and her crimes against Azeroth, with tentative peace between the Horde and the Alliance secured once more.
Disclaimer:
I do not want this to happen whatsoever.
I simply think it’s one of the more realistic outcomes.
