Most people PLAYING DRACTHYR probably wouldn’t be, no. That’s not a big surprise; getting it easier/faster is the human default desire.
But other people might be. And the devs certainly are. It’s not cool to put work into something and then have people just skip most of it by flying over it.
Imo the cooldown should be 30 mins.
No, not from lvl 1. They get it at the same time as other classes get flying. And it adheres to most of the same rules (except for the instant ‘mounting’, which I still believe to be an imbalance and should be fixed). If that was the case with dracthyr, I’d be fine with it, but it’s not.
I dont believe so. People do want to have it easy, its the human nature after all, but thats different than people actually complaining about things that are part of some race or class in the game. Personally i just want everyone to be able to play as they want. In the end the people who wantr to admire the scenery like i do will do so in ground or in the air. Those that dont care about such things do not pay attention to surrounding and just want to get as fast as possible to next marker on the map. It gives no joy for artist to have people “forced” to wiev the work since they will just not pay attention to it and those that do, will do so no matter what. For the games perspective the most important thing is that players of all sorts have fun playing the game. This keeps them playing and paying for the content and that pays the salary of every designer.
Back at the day Deathknights got free fast riding when it still was expensive for other classes, but like Drakthyr not everyone was able to make on since it required level 60 character do do so. People did “misuse” the riding in some players minds by making DK’s just for gathering materials because it was fast and convenient. Other used the class for playing and some complained some did not. Should we alöso complain how allied races and other hero classes get mounts faster than others making them easier to skip content? I dont really know and as far as im concerned, i would be happy if the mounts went GW2 way so that when one character has it, all have it and no level restrictions. People who want to go fast will do so and people who want to admire scenery will also do so. Everyone would be happy exept if one wants arbitrary restrictions on stuff.
And Dracthyr get Soar at like lvl 58. Much later than everyone else gets flying.
We don’t know what Blizzard will do with flying in the next expansions, but whatever they do, there is no reason why they wouldn’t be able to subject Soar to the same limitations as other forms of flying.
I was clumsy with it too. Try it again a bit later when you’ve calmed down from the panic and just flying in circles. I cursed it to begin with but it’s easy for me now. Dreading dragonriding tbh but it’s all a learning curve.
For now. I think they’ll get more classes in due time.
Besides, they’ll still be able to skip content right away in expansions - I know; in Dragonflight it’s different because it’s made with Dragonriding in mind, but there’s no guarantee that future expansions will be like that.
First attempt headbutted the big pylon thingy, have decided hitting something is a good option for landing in a hurry
I STILL don’t get why I am supposed to dive down, but managed the hoops in a panic .
Holding the jump key on a side mouse button. Glad it isn’t holding left/right ones down, bad for my arthritis hence I use autorun instead.
If you have ever tried the Darkmoon Faire rings, it feels a lot like that with 2 x extra buttons. A once upward bump and 2 x go quicker before the power runs out.
I love doing the Darkmoon Faire ring quest now, it seems to work much better than it used to.
Hang in there, you will get there. We might not get to be experts, but as long as we can get around.
Im officially done with Dragon Riding since I noticed the noodle dragon is no longer in the mount directory as an option!
No no0dle dragon = no fun!!
(not saying that my Drakthyr will never go to Pandaria and jump off the top of the tallest mountain for shiggles…I just dont think I’ll be using it much to get from A to B is all…).
I’m not looking forward to it when I create my Dracthyr (maybe next week when I’ve done the invasions on my alts and got all the mogs, catch up gear etc.).
The flying through circles one sounds like the one I’ll struggle with.
I failed the Avianna’s feather fall one in Highmountain where you had to glide through all those orbs, I just don’t have the hand-eye-coordination for this kind of thing.
Might be that my Dracthyr gets stuck in the starting zone and never moves on.
TBH video or i do not believe this. If you arent seriously disabled or in an age where this can become an issue this is close to not believable. It is so simple and a small child could clear this in minutes. Its 2 buttons and a little bit of mouse moving up,left, right, down.
And what nonsense are you talking about “hours running around in the starting area”? Its not that big and out of the introductionquests you only need gliding at 3 spots. Which is jumping on extra time in the air and then you wait till you reach the other side. Everything else is reachable in no time by walking to it.
You dont hate Drakhyr flying, you hate that you arent able to use it cause you have major issues with your stresslevel you reach in fast and sudden situations. Most of WoW is not made for getting stressed. If you feel srly stressed in WoW you should take a step back and calm yourself, reflect on things, open your mind and take a new try. Dont force it.
