I can agree with this. Good players can and usually reach decent (blue at least) parses even with lower gear.
There is a column for this on wclogs - ilvl parse. That one shows how well you perform relative to your gear. If your parse is bad, but your ilvl parse is good, you can always argue it’s because of old, lower gear. Experienced raid leaders know this. If your ilvl parse is bad, you are bad, simple as that.
Also the excuse about not playing on pservers. Think of it from the organizator stand point. Sure, you didn’t spend 10 years sharpening your skills on private servers, why should I invite you over someone who did? What else you can offer? Why should we choose exactly you?
He’s absolutely right - everyone has their own agenda and it’s not for us to decide what each persons’ priorities are.
Just because I prioritize mechanics > loot on any raid fight, it does not mean everyone thinks the same. I can guarantee you there’s a whole lot of people that, regardless of how the fight ends, do not care for anything ( even if it means wiping the whole raid, ) other than seeing their name topping the dps list.
We had a dps class last night taking an absurd amount of damage at General Vezax due to failed mechanics, and after the second wipe his only concern was on how to best manage his mana.
If it was a single player game, playing however you want, then definitely. But if the mindsets of what appears to be many players now takes away from my fun, I’ll say about it.
I didn’t say they did all think the same, of course they don’t, but the general player thought is loot, loot, more loot, must be top dps, must play harder.
That only started happening in a negative way when WoW became very popular i.e. it brought in a lot of the players who whined about difficulty, spending time doing anything, having to go to a trainer to learn skills etc. They took the RPG out of the MMO.
“Those” people ruin everything they touch for their own selfish wants instead of playing the game for what it is.
You can’t even hear yourself when you say this - because you keep shifting goal posts even from other topics, when it comes to dictate how the game should or shouldn’t be played.
If you don’t play well with the rest of the kids in your group, might be on everyone’s interest that you find a group that aligns a bit more with your views. Live and let live.
You didn’t say all, but then you generalize ? This argumentation is ridiculous. And more time ( for the people at the back, ) they are so free to play the game exactly the way they want to play it. Neither you ( nor anyone for that matter ) have any saying nor right to dictate what is fun, or how anyone should or shouldn’t be playing the game.
If all they care about is loot and more loot and dps, and play harder… so be it - it’s their choice. The same way you also have the right to not play the game that way.
I can’t even fathom the level of hypocrisy in your posts.
I get 80s easily in pugs with slow kill times on my warrior alt with far from ideal gear.
Not great but definitely not bad. I’m sure even the slowest kills just before enrage you can still parse atleast blue on all specs.
Sounds more like a personal problem.
Don’t expect purple orange or pink, but blue is more than enough to get into a random pug.
Check how to parse also. Some adds count, don’t count, some things only count if they are killed or not at all. Don’t waste time multidotting adds if they don’t count for your parse etc.
Unless you’re doing HM, most mechanics that require you to move or get hit are laughable and can be ignored.
But you literally just said you weren’t trying to join the demanding pugs?
Each and every person left retail for different reasons. I left because I didn’t like the feel of the game, not because I didn’t want to play at the best of my ability.
No im talking to you.
You say peoples mindset killed the game, but i still think the game is fun. Probobly more fun then back in the day because i never got to experience hardmodes etc back in the day. So who are you to dictate what is fun and not? Why do you allways nag that people destroyed the game?
I get it that past performance is indicator of the future, but you gotta let people improve, especially in the second week or so.
The end of the story is, I joined a semi-guild group, got the HM’s that people SR’d, raid was chill, General wiped us on 5% because the tank missed 2 taunts in a row, but it’s ok.
I could’ve joined a raid 3 hours ago and result would’ve been same-ish, but the parsing site exists so yeah…
How did I parse? Idgaf, I’m not opening that website, check it if you want, Vincentbbc/Mograine.
So you dont even know if you are being declined cause of your parses, but make a massive whine thread about being declined cause of parses?
But about your parses, yes they are bad from the point of view that a pug will look at it, and you will most probably be declined to the high quality pugs with parses like that.
But that is fine, you can just join other pugs and improve your parses and if you actually are a decent player, the high quality pugs will accept you again once you have improved them.
And i dont really see whats wrong with that, the people making these high quality pug groups, are successfull for a reason, and that is because they bring players that have shown to be high quality players.
They dont accept bad logs because that would decrease the quality of their runs, and thus they would lose the reputation of being a high quality pug, and then attract less of the skilled players.
You understand that right? High quality pugs are fighting with other high quality pugs for the skilled players capable of helping them keep the reputation of “High quality pug”
Inviting someone like you that have really bad logs, would mean that they would risk sacrficing their reputation and lose good players.
