It’s already bad enough that conspiracy-theorists, or “wappies” as we call them in my country, get to spread their bull

Absolutely disgusting tragedy, a family torn apart. The man clearly had been suffering from some mental illness and no sign of it was picked up on earlier. It’s awful that he felt the only group who were speaking to him were some lunatic fringe.
Cases like these will be used to hammer down on fringe groups like this more, which in turn will push them to even more lunacy. Messianic groups can’t be forced to the table with threats, it just plays into their world view.
It makes me wonder how the USA is ever going to reconcile its divisions or if we’ll see more terrible things like this happening.

They could start with becoming a functioning country but failing that, treating mental illness as something to be treated and not ignored for the stigma and medicated out of sight.
Instead, demonstrably cracked individuals are handed authority, media platforms and fame.

We don’t celebrate Halloween either, but instead we have ‘Mardipäev’ and ‘Kadripäev’ which are basically two candy-begging days instead.
Kinda wish we only had Halloween cuz the Halloween costumes can be more creative and I wouldn’t have to buy twice the candy (or get twice the whines) then.
