Big agree, the facial scanning was pretty cool (but still uncomfortable) at the time and there wasn’t anything like it. That part has definitely aged poorly, but there was a great foundation for a series of games there that never got expanded on. There’s really not that many detective games out there and to me that feels like a lot of untapped potential.
Same with pirate games. I’ve got Black Flag and that’s really it. Sid Meier’s pirates is cool but I want a story based pirate adventure.
I only used those words because that’s what counts as plot these days.
I still expect a poorly implemented “objection!” moment at the mannequeen’s coronation as the true heir appears as though we had all that content for context, thinking they’re clever and subversive.
I tend to play BF only, so I FC into 4TC boom while everyone around me dies, though I play random so after I might die as well depending on what I get.
Funnily enough I’ve had the most success with eagle civs, as with palas I always find myself struggling vs halbs and with archers I struggle with actually finishing someone off. I need to play more with siege but I don’t really make SO as often as I should be, and I’m not sure why. I just default to making trebs.
I actually played a 7x 1v1 BF yesterday as Incas, was very fun and I took out my two neighbours, but then ended up getting triple ganged while the Spanish guy built a wonder next to a pond and filled the land with BBT and cannon galleons. It’s like, the third time I’ve lost to a wonder victory in BF now!
Chelra has been imprisoned in her stone form and we free her with animagic to help the rebellion. Teh spoilers:
Come current patch, she is revealed to have been a nathrezim infiltrator all along since the real Chelra was killed after Renathal’s banishment. How the flippin’ hell on a plate is that possible given how anima and stoneborn animation works? How did the infiltrator turn herself into stone? Yeah, this is just another on the fly retcon like Stonewright’s identity.
I’ll defend Baine as conceptually a cool and nuanced character - then I look at him sitting all on his own at Oribos like a schmuck and I appreciate how badly he’s depicted
Same time as Lor’themar weds Thalyssra, having both tauren and fancy elves united into one people. Coinciding with Calia’s coronation all as a big positive new era patch following the end of the much maligned shadowlands expansion and scandalous corporate purge.
He earned it, he put in some serious hours trying to sort things out for two expansions only for the Horde and Alliance to immediately go back to war with each other when a giant sword impaled Silithus.
Damn right he earned it! Over his lifetime he’s fought Medivh, Deathwing, Archimonde, Gul’dan (multiple times) and Kil’jaeden. Khadgar is the real MVP.
