Unrelated peeve: yesterday, during RP, I met the FFXIV equivalent of that annoying know-it-all character who casually recites all of Shadowlands lore in a random Stormwind tavern within a month of expansion launch. Different game, same story.
What any discussion of contemporary music looks like to me:
— So, do you listen to that group of people that has an incomprehensible word salad name and produces eardrum-piercing noise?
— What? No, they’re garbage! I listen to that other group of people with a completely different incomprehensible word salad name, who produce a completely different kind of eardrum-piercing noise!
I, for one, don’t discriminate. I don’t know any of the names and I find them all equally unbearable.
I learned to appreciate the 70s- to early 2000 music.
I generally enjoy any kind of music, I don’t restrict myself in that regard? Classic, sure! Vaporwave, why not!
I do stray away from pop music, it’s really the kind of music you’re “forced” to appreciate because of how many times it has to be repeated for you to be brainwashed into liking it.
You do have to go look for folks doing it out of passion instead of the corporate bought and financed artists.
