Iâd wager and say WoW is also very in the uncanny valley and argueably has less life in the models than the FFXIV ones.
Most of the unfortuante screenshots are just due to where the light source is in most of the cases and some of the characters are just⌠that.
But there is no accounting for taste and Iâll leave it at that.
The current quality balances the cartoon look. The semi-realism of the new sylvanas therapy session cinematic does not. That looks creepy.
Unlocked Kugane, and I like it aesthetically. I havenât done any quests there, just landed and ran around the city, and visually it feels oddly transcending time, like if the aesthetics of medieval Japan survived until later eras and blended with their realities â basically what Iâd expect a Korra era Fire Nation to look like.
My only complaint is that there are a lot of solid-colored surfaces, which the FFXIV engine doesnât handle well, and the result feels flat and plastic-y in places, and a visual downgrade from Ishgard.
Do the âDreams of Shiroganeâ quest to unlock the housing area and drop by!

And since every race in the First is basically a copy of the Source races, itâs not unreasonable to assume Viera can live up to three to four centuries.
