I have been modding FF12.
I blame Distantpeak.
I downloaded the bloatware called Vortex because Iâm a bit scared of manually setting up mods for complicated games.
At least I havenât had issues with vortex and 12.

Actually, speaking of; its funny how the FF14 viera starter gear is black when only Fran wears the black version, all others mostly wear a silver version or green.
obviously not in that picture above because I modded in a chainmail set and didnât like the black on black version.
Oh yes, I am familiar. FFXIV Viera have fairly little lore so Iâve read everything even tangentially related for clues.

Sort of wouldâve been nice to know exactly where 12 stops and 14 starts. Like was the Archadian Empire still there in 14? Did Garlemald crush it before it crushed Dalmasca etc.

So Gabranth in 12 is actually Baschâs identical twin brother whereas the Gabranth in 14 is Baschâs son. Wouldnât be such a problem if Basch wasnât a main character in 12 and you know, a good guy fighting the empire (Archadian empire in 12).
Also in 14 the ballcap armour Gabranth wears is the same as the one he wears in 12, its aparently Garlean design in 14, whereas its Judge Armour made in Archadia in 12.
So did Archadia exist? if it didnât, does Balthier exist? Thatâd make me sad if he doesnât because the Fran + Balthier combo is what makes FF12 for me

Minor peeverino about elezen names. Some of them are fancy Frenchifications of common European names (like Alisaie from Alice), and Encyclopedia Eorzea notes as such. But Louisoix is based on Louis, which is already French. It probably shouldnât bug me, but it does.
It sounds cooler. Iâve never met a cool Louis.
