Pet peeves: The return (Part 2)

Hot take, don’t play it if you think it’s bad?

But do continue playing if you think it’s good.

just… need… two… more… petrified dragon bones

My wallet begins to move of its own accord…

got in to the temple, bowed my way a little way in, die to a crossbow trap in a chest, one I rolled away from so don’t understand how it still hit?

Gonna need way more lightning arrows at this rate.

Oh hey, playing Minecraft again with a friend, neat new update means we end up with a super awesome map and gigantic caverns and mountains, and I figure out how to make a map wall, and-

What do you mean its 1.30am?
:grimacing: Ahah, whoops.

As much of a meme it may be, it works as an example of Anduin’s belief. The Light is Good and the Light heals. His faith helps him manage a lifelong injury but when he starts to doubt the proper path, the divine painkillers wear off.

The only way to reliably deal with traps is to simply block, doesn’t matter if its just with a broken dagger and it breaks your guard because you will negate enough damage.

Anyway Shulva best city because of the BDSM tree.

That… that actually makes it work better, I think? Worded like that, yeah, it 100% makes sense that if he starts with the Doubt then the faith-base ability fades a bit.
Doesn’t mean he’s right, just doubtful.

(Of course, that’s likely WAY more depth than anyone actually on the team put in :grimacing: )

That’s how it reads in the book when not memed into a bone based lie detector.

It’s not really framed as him doubting though.

Anduin had been gravely injured when Garrosh Hellscream had caused an enormous artifact known as the Divine Bell to come crashing down upon him in Pandaria. Since that moment his bones ached whenever he was on the wrong path - when he was being cruel, or thoughtless, or courting danger.

(Before the Storm pg. 106)

Anduin watched her [Calia] carefully, taking a breath and centring himself. Light - let me know if she means them [Forsaken] harm. He felt no responding ache in his bones, no hint that Calia Menethil was planning some murderous coup. Her intentions were in alignment with the Light they both served.

(Before the Storm pg. 278)
Indeed there’s a moment where he’s clearly doubting, and they explicitly say his bones rest easy:

He [Anduin] closed his eyes for a moment, breathing the cool, moist air. Light, you’ve guided and shaped me for most of my life. And since my father died, I’ve woken up every morning with the fate of tens of thousands of people resting on my shoulders. You have helped me bear this burden, and I have been blessed to have many wise people to rely upon. But this one’s on me. It feels like the right thing to do. The bones that were shattered by the bell are easy tonight. My heart is clear, but my mind…

He shook his head and said aloud, "Father, you always seeemed so certain. And you acted so swiftly. I wonder if you ever doubted as I do."

(Before the Storm pg 321/322)

Bleh. As with much of Warcrafts stuff, the potential is all there.

Shame the people at the helm mostly don’t have A Damn Clue…

Almost like we’d need a lore bible so that the creative liberties of commissioned authors build on and enrich established facts and don’t alter fundamentals like worgen lacking tails.

SO I learned recently that “Based” used to mean:
“acting as if or being on crack.”

until some rapper made it into the current definition gamers are so found of using.
but I can’t unhear the old definition anymore and have taken to call typical whacky behaviour based.

The peeve here is really that being based is kinda cringe in my eyes now.

Ubisoft: “Clearly, you all just don’t get it. It’s a great system. We’ll put in more NFTs.”
