This is interesting, I think I missed this announcement. Is there a link anywhere? Is this just for warmode?
there was no announcement for any of the changes, according to bliz posts RP realms should share shards with warmode and pve mode players (so you see blueshield everywhere) and we should be DB only.
I don't know why they don't announce these changes as they are very positive and many people me included complained about it, i wrote to bliz directly complaining about it.
I usually don't send these kinds of complaints but since I do like us "ex-"RP-PvP servers to be for ourselves, where would the best place be to make such a complaint?
Every time I engage in WPvP atm with the intention to smash some poor sod, 4 Alliance players jump out of the bushes and I end up making the walk of shame back to my corpse.
I would have no problem with our server calming down a little, it would still be my home. For me it's about the quality of PvP, not the quantity.

I've noticed why I might have gotten such a huge outlash. It's because of the title, I wanted to make it "Petition to change DB's Sharding so we can get matched with all the realms", but the name I wanted to give it was too long so I had to shorten it somehow, and at that time, writing it on phone, I was prone to mistakes.
I would like to apologise to the RP community, I've never inteded to ask the realm to be force switched to a PvE realm, but rather change the sharding, so we can get into warmode with a lot more people to fight with. Either that, or giving each player the option who he wants to shard with. And the third option being a realm transfer if they don't give anything to the people who joined the realm for the balanced WPvP.
I've never intended to disrespect the RP community, which in fact, I deeply respect, as I used to be a casual roleplayer here and was once in a Roleplaying Guild.
I could've formatted it better, but given that English is not my native language, I am prone to mistakes and not being able to properly explain my thoughts.
With all that said, I've reconsidered staying here for the time being, so I will expect to see more of you in Warmode!

So many "why didnt you go to PVP realm" it can go the other way to, why didnt you go to RP realm if you dont like pvp ? why are you playing MMO if you want to be playing alone ?
This WAS an RPPVP both sides should exist but they just removed the pvp part! Sharding is one the best things they added to the game, it made old maps feel alive again, it made WPVP very active and fun but we got screwed over because some people prefer to solo an MMO game.

Most RPers i know were here and accepted both pvp and rp rulesets,the ones that got tired of it moved to AD.
I know OP explained stuff above,but if anything people were explaining how the server was RP AND PVP first and foremost,both rulesets being here and not excluding each other.
It was Blizzards decision to remove PvP servers, and replace them with Warmode,and while i agree it was because of loud carebears on forums, no reason to punish people who also came here for the RP tag.
We didnt have xrealm anyway so you cant talk about huge numbers to begin with in recent years,
so why act like WPvP is dead now?
You could say its been dead since WoD then, and from warmode experiences i had in last week,its WAY healthier with AD folks around,while still maintaining the familiar realm faces around.
Only time will tell how active will the expansion remain.

I have an alt on another normal realm and i can say maps are much more active with or without warmode. Sharding doesnt mean you will be put with others it only means once your map gets underpopulated you will be put with others untill then you pretty much play only with your own realm.
Yes, Wpvp is alive for now(still not like on normal realms) but like any expansion people will start leaving soon and we end up with empty maps and i personally prefer something is done now and not when everything ends up dead again(and lets not mention again older maps). If nothing else blizzard could atleast gave us an option to enable or disable sharding.

It was made for RPers who wants to PvP. Those who want to combine BOTH. And with Warmode, people can still go and do so.

I never said im against RP if you would keep on reading you would see that this is exactly what i said that rppvp means that both elements should exist, but what warmode did is it separated mid realm population into 2 world, yes it is active now but it wont be in 6 months!
The thing that im against however are people who try isolate our realm from others, so that they can play alone or farm rares. Sharding is a good thing and its clear why blizzard put it into the core of the game now, but some people still try to relive classic which simply cant exist today anymore - people changed, wow changed, world changed.
I'm on the same opinion with Sawr. World PvP is fine now on Zandalar and Kul'Tiras, but every other zone is a barren. Leveling a character, you won't see anybody ever around you. On the other realms, because of Sharding, the 1-110 leveling zones will have people around, who you can group up and level with, fight people of the opposite faction, etc.
Even Darkshore was pretty damn empty during the War of the Thorns, and my guess is a few months in, the Warmode will die off here, when people start doing less and less world quests and the population drops. Still, I will stick here for now, and I might reconsider switching realms, if that becomes the case.
Moved to Kazzak yesterday on my main and I have to say its night and day when compared to crappy Defias Brotherhood at al.
Place is packed and almost every single world quest location has Horde and Alliance skirmishes. THIS is how BFA should work in Warmode. Best thing, I have not have to use LFG to do any world quest, even Azurethos!!! I find Kazzak and other normal realm people everywhere and Alliance presence rivals Horde in EVERY single zone. This is Warmode working as intended without any RP server restriction rubbish.
Now I am truly enjoying Warmode and it is so good that I am definitely transferring my other level 110 characters from this craphole to Kazzak as soon as I can afford it.
Anyone who is thinking of transferring, DO IT! You will not regret it and will never look back!

Salty? Haha not even once mate. I am having the best fun ever on Kazzak after 4 years of being stuck on this crap dead realm. Leaving has been a blessing. Just upset that I didn't move any sooner and that I have 12 other level 110 characters stuck here. -.-
And after seeing how vastly superior the experience is on a Normal realm like Kazzak, I WILL keep encouraging people who joined Defias for its previous "RP-PVP" suffix to leave this craphole if they want to enjoy super active unrestricted world pvp that takes full advantage of the Warmode feature. Blizzard forced RP only restriction on this server without consulting the community even once and that made a lot of people unhappy. Entire guilds transferred away.

Been a few people who have transferred to Kazzak and the like, and they come back because you just can't beat the community here.
Defias is great. The people are great, my guild is great, the alliance rats are great (to kill).
