Pickled sausages

is a prairie oyster
A drink made with gin, raw egg yolk, hot sauce and pepper.

Lol it’s a joke we play on tourists. They do actually exist, but most if not 99.99% of Scots unanimously agree that they are absolutely disgusting. Ive only had a small bite of one and it was quite possibly the most revolting thing I’ve ever eaten, and I lived in the US for eleven years

No seriously
 Pulled squirrel jerky
Tasted better than a deep fried mars bar.

if we talk about revolting things you havent tasted surströmming yet which mates served as “reward” for the winning team on drunk summer football tournament, im finnish but didnt like it :joy:

when my old gfs family put me in work on their farm skin and separate the meat from some of the sheeps they slaughter on autumn we cooked some sheep heart kinda like onion rings with her brother, it didnt even taste too bad on a bread and with onion, tastes like liver with “iron taste” on it

now i know scotts use alot of the ingredients like lungs, liver, heart etc and else to make haggis, i wouldnt mind try that

We Hungarians are like the scotts in that regard
Pig, cow, horse, rabit, small or big game, any kind of birds, goat or sheep we use every parts of them in our cooking
Loung, liver, blood, fat, intensines, any organ really, wings, claws, feet, bone, marrow, tripe, brain, gizzard, crest, ear, tail, lips, balls of a male, fetus or skin, anything is fair game when it comes to our food

i also eat finnish liquorice called salmiakki which contains alot ammonium chloride which can give me headache cause of blood pressure rises rapidly

i guess we just enjoy living on the edge, dangerously :joy:

Ammonium Chloride is an odorless, white powder . Solid Ammonium Chloride is used to make dry batteries and Ammonia compounds, as a soldering flux, a pickling agent in Zinc coating and tinning, and a fertilizer. Ammonium Chloride fume, a finely divided particle dispersed in air, is produced in galvanizing operations.

On the bright side when you get laid to rest in your coffin and burial plot you’ll be sprouting weeds forever and if you are ever exhumed you’ll be nice and shiny. Not sure about the battery part though, if the Matrix has taught me anything you’ll be powering the machines for centuries

fins eat that as candy and put it in everything even alcohols :joy:

the drink call salmari is popular, its pitch black and tastes like salt liquorice which is that ammonium chloride i guess almost entirely

but i think the most weird product i know is the australian vegemite that they scrape from the waste left from producion of beers and put it in jar and sell it as something people put on their bread, my aunt lives in australia and talks of it, apparently they love that stuff but its so weird to any foreigner
