The battlenet friend restriction for inviting seems annoying, but I can work around it.
Next you can choose your faction? a Horde human and an Orc Alliance?
I hope this will allow for more faction balance. So people can finally play the faction they really want.
I hate faction imbalance, even if it benefits my faction.
Cheers.
And when that happens funeral music will start play on background, WoWâs real funeral
So basically for now this only enables a faction shared chat channel?
What about being able to queue dungeons and battlegrounds together?
What about guild vault access and other things?
Still canât view other factionâs groups which are listed under CUSTOM despite already being able to share mob tags outside of warmode in the open world. If Iâm hunting some kind of a rare spawn, now thereâs a problem because this is much more likely to happen on horde. Please enable proper CF gameplay because it is more of a hurdle than a feature.
Itâs cross faction on the PTR
Looks like other aspects are still restricted.
I canât see itâs not happening after 10.1.
yep saw this tooâŚits dumb to promote smth like this, when you cant play with your guildâŚonly in m plus or raid content.
good idea, bad implementation
plus all try hards will go n11 or dwarf for racials now, because everyone thinks they are the 0,1% m plus champs
This game has fallen from grace, shameful.
This is so bizarre. Something that has been severely lacking since Legion is FINALLY here and you cannot queue up to any instance and you cannot do world quests together.
That means that cross-faction guilds are completely worthless since I could just invite anyone before too, to the exact same degree as today, only youâll be in the same guild together.
You have the system already built in. âXYZ isnât eligible for that questâ.
Just allow us to team up and do anything together. Solve quests together, team up in any type of random content together, do ANYTHING together, just like we can when we are the same faction.
This is totally pointless.
// Quartiz @ Defias Brotherhood.
I honestly do not find it good enough if they are unfriendly in outdoors.
It is an improvement. But you can do better.
Everyone who is in the same guild, should be a buddy both in instances and outside
In the long term you need to find the hard coded root of the faction split and rip it off.
This current âcross- faction guildâ is just a shared chat and shared guild name
Iâm hoping that itâs the next thing they can look into. Itâs a real shame we canât do more than just PuG at this stage.
Allow me to play the devilâs advocate here. Would opening cross-faction guilds with all the features request here available from the beginning be a wise choice from a development point of view?
Iâm not making a point veiled as a rhetorical question, by the way. I actually donât know and am interested.
I would have thought so or do you think itâs better for them to keep trickling improvements over time?
Iâm the last person who ought to be asked about the technical side of things
But Iâll say this: this is a positive step. Itâs clear from the thread(s) about this that the fanbase wants this to go further; this indicates that, whether or not itâs far enough, Blizz is walking in the right direction. I like to savor every small victory we get.
Indeed, people want to play with their friends and weâre slowly making more and more progress into that.
This is indeed progress in the right direction!
I totally get they are doing it step-by-step and my guess is that open world (questing) is the biggest one.
I just had hoped for at least instance queuing being included.
For questing they could enable a mercenary type mode where you can play with a friend (or alone) to do the other factions quests. This would also be great for people that play one character to see both sides.
