Please do something about leveling in 8.3

Is it? I don’t recall it being possible. Just makes the dungeon last longer really.

I do not find leveling tedious, I have 27 chars at 120 level right now and level another one. It feels way better than we had in 7.3.5 or whatever the patch was in Legion, that made leveling real pain.

I don’t mind the speed of leveling in retail

It just becomes tedious since it doesn’t bring any challenge witch is horrible boring

No one buys heirlooms because they need better gear, they just want it for the leveling speed

Levelling is fast as hell (with ‘looms) and fun imo, but it’s all defined by the individual I guess.

Well i have some experience as altoholic, i can get level 60 in 1 day (full looms). Most painful leveling experience for me is TBC/WotLK because the distances are much greater, but the speed of movement does not increase equally. Situation gets better if you can afford fast flying at level 70.

Leveling from 1-60 is fast then it slogs to frozen snails pace from 60-80 then goes again little faster but not as fast as 1-60 Wod is extremely fast even without flying and with flying the “leveling” in wod areas is a joke its so fast. legion is decent so is BFA leveling.

Only problem i personally have is TBC/WOTLK might be because the amount of alts that i have dragged through both expansions might be the dated collect 101 bear butt quests from animals that seem to not have rectums. Both areas suffer from low drop rate items from monsters and distances to return stuff compared to newer zones.

Take Dragonblight for example, you must fly from Temple and back to hubs all the time just to talk and take quest back. Scholazar Basin is by far the best WotLK leveling zone.

The worst part is 110-120 I would say, no real variety, have to do the same quests over and over.

yeah just shows how the emphasis has changed.

You never know we might get to hear about whether or not they intend to do the level squish in the future. We’ve heard nothing since the survey went out.

I agree though scaling is horrible for levelling. Even though questing is now supposed to be more efficient, I tend to run dungeons to level.

I didn’t find it too bad 60-80, but fair enough. My perception might be a little skewed as I tend to spam BGs as much as possible and it seems a really fast way to do things?

It is a bit dull though I agree, probs because like you say due to how often I’ve levelled in Outland and Northrend.

WoD levelling is so fast it’s crazy! I’m barely through the Frostfire and I get the Legion quest popping up. I like levelling through Legion ‘cause I missed the expansion, so it all feels ‘new’ to me still.

I wonder how a level squish will pan out, and feel to play. Interested to see.

Part of me is ‘don’t you dare take my levels’ but I understand the logic behind the idea

My worry is that it wont be any faster to do those 60 levels than it currently is to get to 120. In which case we gain nothing from it. It’s just less numbers. It will make levelling seem longer because you will ding at a slower rate than before with double the levels.

Funny you should mention that.

It wasn’t until I had levelled a warrior to 48 and I needed a break I found motivation to level an allied race for the Heritage Armor.

I don’t consider the speed that much of an issue in the first place.

It’s just unsatisfying.
Scaling doesn’t go far enough to allow you to actually follow an expansion story through, some levels are literal filler where you only get weaker as your ratings devalue and the combat simultaneously manages to make you frantically hit buttons while also being so devoid of mental engagement that you’d rather just tab out and let it autorun.

I can’t bring myself to it. And I’m normally a big altoholic.

In order to let you follow an entire expansion through they’d have to remove a huge number of quests. I’m not really a fan of that. Or they’d have to slow questing down even more to give you so little xp.

That would be disappointing. I suppose (taking something I did enjoy about Classic), they made each level feel more meaningful (like the old talent trees), it might work out ok?

I had no idea this existed!! Thank you very much

Yeah I’m hoping they don’t do that. The old expansions can’t be made so you can do all of them and then move on. But I don’t think it’s bad to have enough there so you can vary your journey with alts.

I think the old expansions should be re-done and summarized into chapters, to give a succinct but clear explanation of what happened. Much like diablo, with a clear Main Quest line to follow that leads you right to the end. They can be incentivised with some free bs or mount or something, everyone loves / needs free stuff!
