RDF for max level makes no difference to me, my guildies are already planning on power farming Gamma dungeons for some trinkets for our casters and I’ll personally be using them to quickly grab my 25 primordial saronites. Dungeon finder will save us the trouble of flying around Northrend I guess.
I can use RDF to power level my alts that I simply cba to play right now though, that’s a good thing I guess.

I mean nobody is forcing you to finish that dungeon. Just leave if it’s going that poorly? Save yourself the headache. I’ve been in terrible groups that I’ve left out of sheer frustration, but it has been a pretty rare thing, while you make it sound like it’s every other group. If you really don’t want to play with those with a lower GS, make your own group instead of using matchmaking.
I’d say its rather common in pugs. I mostly run dungeons with my guild, but the few times I’ve run with pugs, its never been smooth. Thats besides the point tho. I’ve seen the posts since like mid TBC. RDF is a miracle device that solves all problems and there will never be any problems with it and it will bring back all the people who have ever played wrath. Why even put it in the game if its so useless that making groups manually will still be preferable? If they’re going to implement it then do it right the first time.
Aside from leveling I don’t really see the need for RDF either to be honest. The LFG tool we have right now works well enough at max level in my opinion, but finding groups for leveling dungeons in near impossible. I don’t see the harm in having RDF either. If you want a specific comp make your own group. If you don’t care or just want a group quickly use RDF.
And let’s be honest, people want to overgear content like crazy. When Ulduar came out people did full HM clears with gear in the low 4000s. Try getting into an Ulduar HM group now with under 5k. Same thing with HC++, people at the gear level the content is for will be turned down time and time again for being too low GS.
Yeah, I agree. There really isn’t a need for RDF and if it only exists for 1-79 as OP suggested, it’d serve its purpose. It COULD be used for HC and HC++ and what not, but only if restricted. People do overgear for the content like crazy, I still see ads for Naxx immortal runs 5.3k minimum which is nuts, if you can’t do it at this point, give up. At the same time, how many people are going to take their fresh 80 through HC+, then HC ++ and HC+++? I’d wager most will just jump into HC+++ and wont care that the rest of the group will suffer for it. As I said, 1-2 are fine, you can still push through, but if everyone is low geared or fresh 80s? What if you’re the only 5k+ doing a HC+++, you struggle the first boss down and now you’re locked and the group is unable to finish? I think that seems like a likely reality.
I recon having a listing feature in there would be great. Pick out what you want and the people who don’t care what they get can go in the random group pile.

Its 1year+ into the xpac and we’re about to go into last phase thats why nobody else is levelling or doing levelling dungeons because its been done to death.

Ye exactly. this is an alt and i just want to jump into hc +++, I dont wanna deal with hc+ or hc++, i want to do the highest dungeon, i wanna spend less time on dungeon and start with raiding and with RDF there will be restrictions if not im making my own grp,
