I’m building this view that “classic spirit” is just an excuse to develop and maintain the business model that we see these days.
I don’t actually see the actual harm what group finders and personal loot would do to the game, but of course it’s not classic spirit, so dropping the idea makes me a heretic.
Of course that in reality means anti-establishment.
In any event, personal loot would automatically solve the OP problem, having too much gear for some (classes) and too little for others.
does the gear really matter that much? the spellpower scaling at this low rank spell it barely feels like an upgrade when you get an upgrade.

Made a thread, allow tank rune shamans to use plate gear. Far better itemisation for them and leas wasted gear in 10 man shaman tank raids.

Hell yes it matters. Levelling as a healer priest is some of the most depressing stuff I had to endure. 3 second cast smites that deal wet farts damage? I take all the spell power upgrades I can get my hands on. One gear piece may not be much, but add it all together and it makes some difference. I have over 90 spell power now, that’s more damage than 0 spell power.

It always drops cloth and leather then I run BFD with a guild. Everyone has different experiences.
Cant wait to see another phase of caster downfall haha i think in the previous 7runs on my warlock i didnt roll on a single item in bfd, and im still missing 5 and a 2h ofc pieces from the raid… i dont know guys i might just reroll for a warrior so im not going to be beaten by a 250gs hunter while im 340
Most annyoning thing is that i was smart enough to do a priest alt after my warlock. If i could go back in time i would punch myself and do 2 warriors instead
Well good luck with epic staff, I main a lock and did almost every BFD reset ever and forget getting it, it never even dropped.
I have seen memes like us giving 2h epic sword to a Hunter, because 2 melees who could use it already had it. But staff, ye boi - that sht does not exist.
But well, on the flipside - you can almost sub it as far as spellpower goes with an easier to get main hand/offhand combo. You’d lose like 5 spellpower and some int there, but it is a ton better than melee not having a purple weapon.
Who knows what there will be in P2. Maybe it will have juicy caster gear galore and maybe it will be a mess.
Horde have 2 mail using classes. Hunter and Shaman. However, they have 1 Plate using class.
Alliance have 1 mail using class. Hunter, but 2 Plate using classes. Paladin and Warrior. However, as far as Holy Paladins go, they kind of compete with cloth mail and leather users as well. Kind of in the same way Resto Shamans compete over leather and cloth.
- Plate: Soley focused on defense and melee damage. BiS for warr/pala dps, so they don’t roll on mail/leather.
- Mail: +Int on all gear with agility and ap. Good for both Enh Shaman and hunters
- Leather: Mostly +agi items with some +SP gear.
- Cloth: Solely focused on +Int, Spirit and SP.
Yeah, I play paladin so never thought about that on Horde only 1 class can benefit from all this loot.

I don’t know what you are talking about tbh. BFD is full of caster loot, only thing I had trouble getting was epic staff, but it eventually dropped. I think loot is fine stop crying
