They annoy quite a few people too. All damn good racial flavour if you’re into some happy taunting! 
(And they’re really fun and fluffy. I’d definitely give it a shot to see if you like it on a trial or new character.)

In PVP the vulpera racial is best racial against demo lock and bm hunter because over a longer game it reduces damage by a lot since they summon new pets all the time and you get the reduction for each new summon.
Blizzcon players picked vulpera in the AWC finals against demo lock teams and the vulpera racial was like 300k total absorbed one game.
Other than that, you have a small self heal while running around pillars

The vulpera racials isn’t nearly as bad as the Mag’har
Yeah, when it was first “discovered” it was a big shocker - Supatease, Venruki, etc. all covered “the new tech” and commented on it on multiple AWC final games. I even think there was a triple vulpera team to counter a demo lock in one of the games.

If I were a racial meta gamer I’d be orc, nelf and dwarf on my chars but I’m obviously not.
But you kind of are:
wanting to have “some” bonus “over nothing” is not meta gaming.
I guess it depends on your definition of Meta gaming.
The true definition (the original) is any consideration of the mechanics of a game and how it will impact on your in game decisions.
The newer meaning that seems to have creeped in (which I do not consider correct) is the Most Efficient Tactics Applied (or similar retro-fitted Acronyms).
By the true definition your choosing a small damage bonus over a cosmetic or fun effect is Meta-gaming.
Bollocks - by this definition anyone picking any decent talents would be a meta gamer and non-meta gamers would be literally the 5% picking worst talents possible on purpose.
You can customise your racial mount.
Variety is the spice of life… granted their Bag of Tricks is just God awful (healing should be % based, 700+k hp to 20k healing is just pathetic), the rest of their racials make them the perfect race for collectors.
Extra bag space for hoarding, Camp for rare spawn spots where it acts like an inn letting you check with WM ON then OFF to check if they’re up.
