*CONCLUDED* [H/A RP] "Parallel pandemonium": MacGuffin Hunting Mini-Campaign 7(!)

TL;DNR - WoW’s dying and everyone has quit, what better time to run another mini campaign?! Someone has to be too stubborn to let go, and since that someone is me I might as well rally everyone else who’s holding on to try to squeeze out whatever roleplay we can from our beloved server before Blizzard turns the lights off for good!

.

IC:

We’ve often speculated about the mirror worlds - those infinite versions of Azeroth scattered throughout the cosmos, where fate took a radically different turn. Perhaps Arthas never fell to the whispers of Ner’zul; maybe the Draenei never crash landed on our northern shores; or consider even that the Sundering itself was averted!

Of course, to most people, that’s as far as they’ll take it. Speculation: a touch of fantasy to fill the pages of eccentric academic’s journals or the pages of cheap comics. Few take the theory seriously; and of those, fewer still decide to put theory into practice in an attempt to visit these strange reflections of our own reality. Virtually none at all ever consider that their denizens might try to visit us…

Yet even now, the portals open - and dwellers of an Azeroth not quite our own stride through, observing our planet with envious eyes and greedy ambition. For so rich is our world, and so grand the prestige of having claimed it as your own, that some among the multiverse seek to conquer it twice

“Ah-!”

The woman stepped forth, clasping her gloved hands together in glee; only now daring to raise the radiation proof goggles that covered her eyes, as the raw arcane energy seething from the crackling portal machine before her finally ebbed to a tolerable level.

“Supreme Leader; what an honour it is to see you again! There is, I’m sure you’ll agree, much needs to be done…”

.

ALTERNATE REALITIES WHERE THE BADGUYS WON - BLEEDING INTO THE AZEROTH WE FIGHT SO HARD TO SAVE!

With cracks in reality tearing open all over the world, spewing forth the unbeaten forces of darkness fresh from their victories on parallel worlds, its up to Argent Dawn’s remaining heroes who haven’t jumped ship to FF14 and turned into anime catgirls to team up and save the day - before all of the multiverse is cast into darkness!

Will we be able to unite in time to stem the flow of villains, and destroy the terrible machine that’s granting them passage - or will our world become just another territory of some ner-do-well’s interdimensional empire?!

There’s only one way to find out - and its coming to a roleplay server near YOU!

.

OOC:

Hey gamers!

Its me, the last man on World of Warcraft - and here’s yet another mini MacGuffin hunting campaign to test whether there’s any other signs of life out there! This will be the 7th such campaign it turns out, because apparently I’ve got far too much time on my hands and nobody else to spend it with!

It’s the same shtick as the previous escapades: rather than a huge campaign with everyone in the same zone all week, I’ll instead be taking one guild a night out on a cool adventure to retrieve the plot driving MacGuffins - with an Avenger’s Assemble style team up on the final night where we all go up against the big bad!

That is to say; Guild A has an adventure on Monday, Guild B on Tuesday - and so on, until they all team up on Sunday to sweep in and save the world!

While you’re waiting for that, you’ll be able to do as you please with your personally acquired plot device - generating some cool roleplay in the meantime, and maybe even further beyond!

This time, the plot is that some Venture Co style villains have made a plan with sinister shadow people from beyond the void to take over the world - and only by retrieving a number of keys to lock up the gate between our world and theirs can we stop the infernal influx, before turning our attention to Azero-Dex itself! all of the badguys have made a plan with alternate versions of themselves to conquer every reality they get their grubby mitts on!

And all you have to do to stop them is sign up, tell me what day you’d like to go out on adventure, and I’ll have it ready and waiting for you cometh the hour! If we can find enough artefacts to once again close the boundaries between dimensions, we might just have a fighting chance of sending the alternate badguys back where they came from - before they can crush us beneath their iron heel just as they did their own world !

Sound like a good time?! Then just sign up for a slot in the comments below !

Hope to hear from you soon gamers, peace! =)

There’s an evil megacorporation. We’re assassins. There’s a device that furthers the agenda of said megacorporation. The plot writes itself and has definitely never been conceived before.

Also everybody wants me to sign us up anyway, so you know what? I’m signing us up. Bu not for them. I’m signing us up for that one nondescript person who doesn’t want me to.

How’s the 23rd sound?

No your honour I wasn’t inspired by a game involving a certain bulky green space marine and a robot man talking to him about the benefits of hell energy and you couldn’t prove a thing even if I was.

Say no more - shadow demons vs stealthy sisters it is!

(Kaity here - stand by, I may change the plot of this campaign slightly, but it’ll still involve mean ole portals, demons and a mega corporation! Possibly some other badguys too - stay tuned!)

Plot change SORTED!

It’s the same high octane Kaitylinn adventure you know and avoid, but now with MORE badguys!

Who knows if there’ll even be a WoW around to do this again in a years time, so if this is the last chance I get to do one of these mini campaigns, I want to make it the biggest one I can!

Not quite as big as the full scale campaign I did recently perhaps; but still big enough to be a blast!

Pls do consider signing up; I know my lore is a bit out there but I only ever want to provide yall with a good time!

Hey gamers- Kait here in an elaborate disguise!

There’s still loads of event slots free for this - in case you did want to sign up! Don’t listen to the sensible advice of your friends; my events are good, I -SWEAR-!

While out on your adventure, you’ll either be racing to close an already active portal to another world before the local defences are utterly overwhelmed by the flood of alternate reality evil - OR desperately seeking out the legendary waystones; the keys between worlds, before the badguys can get their grubby mitts on them and tear open yet ANOTHER gate to hell!

Then, on the grand finale - well, that would be telling; but let’s just say it might just see the return of one of the DEADLIEST villains of the Dust Devils rogue’s gallary-!

IT’s all to play for; the fate of the multiverse hangs in the balance!!

Something wicked comes… :eyes:

“YOU MERELY DELAY THE INEVITABLE!”

The demonic voice roared, barely audible over the deafening riot of shatters and bangs; as furious blasts of arcane lightning erupted through the ancient brickwork, bursting into the interior of the mighty tower, shattering metal and stone, tearing the structure to pieces.

Dodging and weaving their way through the torrent of plummeting debris, our heroic Horde mercenaries tore towards the exit, showered with rubble and dirt as the walls shattered upon them.

“THIS PATHWAY MAY CLOSE, BUT ANOTHER SHALL OPEN - AND ANOTHER, AND ANOTHER!”

The villains had sought to harness the power of the arcane storm raging outside to fuel a giant machine - one capable of ripping open a portal to another universe, an alternate dimension, from which their nightmarish allies would emerge. Even now, such a diabolical foe pressed itself into our world; a giant, yellowish creature, its spindly figure disguising unnatural strength. Yet, with the machine mangled, rapidly disintegrating; the full fury of the storm had been unleashed - the power of the elements turned against their would be captors. The process interrupted; the demon is trapped, its body up to the torso in our own Azeroth, everything below that stranded in its own doomed reality.

“YOU CANNOT STOP THEM ALL; NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU RUN, NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU FIGHT!”

The seething continued; even as the first of our heroes leapt through the exit - turning in time to catch a lunging ally, desperately throwing themselves out of the path of a tumbling stone column!

"WE SHALL STILL EMERGE VICTORIOUS; FOR YOU MUST CLOSE EVERY PORTAL THAT OPENS - YET WE NEED ONLY ONE TO POUR INTO YOUR PITIFUL LITTLE AZEROTH!"

Another horde fighter leapt out of the tower; their collages pouring out into the night, scalded, bruised, but alive. Those still able to fight swung their blades, cutting down a few rouge villains who leapt from the ruins to strike them, while a certain Westfall country cowgirl hastily set the coordinates for a rapid portal return back home! Skidding into a turn, an elven hunter twisted around, aiming her bow back inside, a fiery arrow clutched between her fingertips at the midpoint of a strained rope.

“SO GO, HEROES. ENJOY YOUR RESPITE - BUT KNOW THAT IT IS NOTHING BUT A TEMPORARY PAUSE IN-!”

Interrupted, the half emerged demon peers downwards; a little, golden arrow protruding from the ruined metal work built to sustain the portal from which it came. An eyebrow raised; the monstrosity realised only too late-

BOOOM!

A mighty eruption TORE through the final remnants of the mangled device as the arrow’s magic erupted, everything it touched burned to ashes. The tower shuddered; its ravaged walls finally gave way, the structure folding down upon itself, blasting forth a lethal wave of debris.

“NOW-!”

Bellowed Kaitylinn; blasting forth a portal of her own - tearing a second tear in the fabric of space and time, as our heroes leapt forth, each disappearing with a flash of blue light, seconds before the tidal of dirt and stones raced past, smothering everything in its path.

Two events.

Two storms.

Two villains.

The militant New Order, and the pompous Velvet Glove; each sought to harness the powers of the raging arcane storms to punch open a pathway to another world- one where foul demonic allies had allowed them to crush the free world beneath their iron clad boots. So far, we’ve stopped them - yet the storms still rage, breaking out all over Azeroth, as even fouler forces of evil move to seize the initiative, using the storms to tear open portals of their own.

We need to stop them all - but the badguys only need to open one, to smother our planet in eternal darkness.

…Or, at least, we need to stop two more, because that’s how many days are left on this mini campaign!!

HEY; Looking for something to do over the end of the week to the weekend?!

Why not sign up for one of the events, and help us ruin another badguy’s day by blowing up their portal machines- trust me, it’ll be the time of your life!*

Give me a poke either here or in game if you’d like to go out either tomorrow or Friday, I’d be very happy to have you -and to incorporate you into the finale on Sunday!

Big shout out to everyone who’s attended so far; it’s been a blast DMing for you!

We’ll meet again soon - but till then, stay safe Azeroth!

Peace-! <3

(*Time of your life cannot be guaranteed)

I want to thank Kaitylinn once again for the wonderful bizarre events, funny awesome homages and, in general, herself as a leader (Supreme? :P) and co-player.
We had great pleasure during the events.
A thousand hearts to you, Kaity!

Thank you gamer; you’re far too kind! :sob:

It was a blast DMing for you all - I’m relieved to hear you all had fun!

And with that, another mini-campaign comes its explosive end!

With the Tempest Machine reduced to smouldering ruins, the ferocious arcane storms raging around Azeroth weaken, then fade - once again sealing the gateways between dimensions, trapping innumerable forces of alternate reality evil forever on the far side of the divide!

As the skies return to normal, the beat of life is heard once again, as the towns and villages devastated by rogue portals and savage lightning are slowly rebuilt. Meanwhile, the villains of our own Azeroth skulk back into the shadows, denied the limitless reinforcements they craved to finally conquer the free world.

Down, but by no means out - already they turn their attention to the next grand plan for world domination, scheming and planning to strike us once again!

And when they do, I’ll just have to run another one of these mini campaigns to stop them!

See you then, Argent Dawn!

Peace! <3
