Multiboxxing isn’t banned, however using 3rd party software to mirror inputs is. So if someone wants to multibox they can only play 1 character at a time and not all at the same time.
Good. Was about time.Love the druid hint on the OP.
HALLELUJA!!! Finally blizzard comes to his sences. That might be the best thing they have ever done for the game and it will make so much ppl enjoy the game way more. Gone are the frustrations of multibotting packs of druids scraping the whole zone to make gold and money. Thank you so much for making this best desicion ever blizzard. Big thumps up!!!
lol… the nonsense.
yeah because people care a whole lot whether its a bot or an actual person who just keystroke mirror’d 50 arcane explosions and instagibbing their whole raid.
“its the botters that are the bad guys not the boxers”
newsflash: people hate ‘legit’ multi boxers as well.
Finally, it will be a bit harder for MBs I hope
People saying its good which it is but you dont believe that they will just ban all those who use the software. they gonna get banned in waves after 6months wowi and then? still gonna see them around 24/7 leeching your materials
same story in classic wow with bots
For all those idiots including blizzard who think this will stop multiboxing think again. There is so much software out there that it will make it impossible to track if someone is using auto software or not. Blizzard created a market for multiboxing when they decided to sell gold for real cash on the AH. And now they want to stop it after people bought all those extra SL copies.
I Left wow in the shambles that was cata expansion. I came back classic and opened a second account because it was easy. Due to the enjoyment that classic gave me I decided to give blizz another try and expanded my second account ready for SL. I have made zero cash from AH sales. I have griefed absolutely nobody, horde or ally. I even transferred characters from my main account to balance stuff out. And now blizz decides to do this. Great stuff, I will be asking for a refund and time transferred to my main account, or simply loose me as a player.
I can understand wanting to comply to the whiners, but do the right thing and refund what people have spent, don’t just apply this after you have taken all that extra cash.
If I was a pimp, I would send blizz some of my goodies. Nice! =)
A fantastic change - far later than it should be, but better late than never!
BFA was the first expansion where multiboxing became a problem to the “normal” player, and it became obvious that many of the professions are balanced around multiboxers gathering (look how many ZAs were needed in 8.2 alchemy…)
I still don’t expect Blizzard to action on any of this, but at least now the possibility is there.
Multiboxing should have been banned from the start. It’s a common secret the only reason it’s not happening is that it brings revenue. It’s BY DEFINITION cheating by paying money.
Lol begging for a refund xD , idiot!!! You had your benefits from MB did you?your reply sounds more like a case of butthurt because they finally not allow the cheaters anymore. Deal with it buddy, the game was desingned to have an adventure and enjoy it, not to make money of it.
About time this was put in, though I must ask why Malfurion is telling us this…
Hey it’s least it’s here before Shadowlands so we can see a semblance of an ok economy on a new expac.
They are not banning multiboxing mate. What they are banning is the use of automated input in the game. If you want to play a character, you actually have to do the inputs yourself. Any automated way is cheating.

Some good news for once. Never expected blizzard to do anything about the multi-boxers ravaging the economy of the game due to how much money they give them.
It will still be bannable imo.
Which is severely going to hamstring multiboxers. Good luck playing 5+ characters at once, manually in an efficient manner.
True but it will remove multiboxers from BGs and you can very easily farm them in open world now.
