Hmmm. Positivity.

In Game; first alliance 120 after burning through levelling in 5 days (have however spent two days sleeping and recovering.

Looking forward to the PvP event we’ve just arrived in character for.

Wooo Allied races.

Out of Game; Fiance and I celebrated one year of engagement on Christmas eve, having met through wow 7/8 years ago, then been set up IRL by another mutual Wow friend.

My daughter’s moving in to go to college nearby (After 8 years living with her dad) which is wonderful and making me freak out about how on earth I’m old enough to have a college age child.

I have an interview on Tuesday to be a volunteer advisor with the Citizens Advice Bureau, (UK charity with offices in practically every town, offering free advice, guidance and assistance to the general public on everything from benefits and housing, court hearings, signposting where to find more tailored support for clients, and heaps of stuff in between).

So despite 2018 being a bit crummy with health problems, I have my wheelchair, I can get out and about for the first time in years, and I feel useful!

After a tremendous number of faction changes and race changes, halfhearted attempts at making guilds and generally aimlessly meandering in the server community for the past few months I’ve had the luck of attending the current campaign and reconnect with a number of cool folks on Horde and rejoined a guild and its community on an OOC basis.

With faction changing broken horribly (PSA: Faction changing twice on the same character breaks all your quests in Kul Tiras and Zandalar to such an extent that not even GMs can assist with fixing it, my ticket having been escalated to the devs for a solution) I had to stop my habit and settle down for the foreseeable future. Luckily enough, apart from a few coy, snide comments, the community in and around HoC let me in and I’ve been enjoying my stay to a point I’ll probably settle with this character for the long term.

If there’s one thing that I always looked for on AD is a lore-adherent, solid foundation that is willing to work with and not against character concepts that mesh well with the ongoing storyline and the individual character’s achievements and development. I feel I have finally found what I’ve been looking for and hope I can put a stop to me hopping around due to indecision.

Nothing special there, just means the solution isn’t on Wowhead. GM’s aren’t allowed to fix a lot anymore.

I only have to kill up to Megeara in HC tot now, I have all but 2 pieces of the paladin set (one from that hydra and the other from tortos)

Tbh the 4th GM actually did do that and managed to clear up my War Campaign-related quests (I had basically every single one of them available but none in a phase I could complete them in). It’s when they realized the issue is more deep-rooted and will need evaluation from the second level.

I won’t comment on the previous three game masters and what they said. Those who care will find my post relevant to it on the forums and, suprise-surprise, it desn’t fit in a thread about Positivity.

So there are still Game Masters who can do their part. Kudos to them!

I’ll try to keep the negativity to an absolute minimum here, but it really shouldnt’ve taken 4 GM’s to get to an answer/fix. It should only take one, whether they’re capable of fixing the situation or they admit they don’t have the tools and have to take it up further.

In fact, screw it; positivity moment and a little big-up to blizzard GM/CS staff. Had an issue with something, one GM said “yeah it’s because of X/Y/Z, see ya” and left it at that. Didn’t explain what or why clearly. A second contact gave me a thorough explaination and reasons for what happened and also gave me a free Fel Kitten as an apology for the crummy service I got previously.

When they go above and beyond the call of duty, it really shines through. It’s just a shame it’s not seen as often as it used to be anymore. I get why, I’ve worked in customer service, it’s not entirely their fault.

Kind of reminds me of how that GM Asmon contacted dug real deep to find proof that he had in fact, earned the pre-wrath event transmog set, also going further than what you’d expect.

We need more GM’s like that and less that seem to deliberately wait for you to go offline to write an easy quick response. (At least that’s what it looks like, you have a ticket that has an average wait time of 20hr and increasing, you go off for 10 mins for food and boom, its answered in a crummy way.)

Now for good news, yesterday, I finally got the blue proto drake, I’m no active mount farmer, but it’s still really nice.

I enjoy warfronts a lot and really like that we get a couple of transmog outfits out of them too. Loved the Blue/Gold ones from first warfront and like the ones from the Darkshore one too, really nice to have an elf themed mog for a change. The 385 mail set is probably my favourite of the armour classes. I am looking forward to seeing what sets we get from upcoming warfronts.

Love that Blizzard have finally given us a way to speak to other factions, opens up so much more in RP now.

I did the darkshore warfront this week for first time. I loved the starting cutscene(yourself commanding a small boat), the actual theme of invading and the dark setting of the woods which actually fits the forsaken and night elves quite well
