Professions, a monumental failure

If you take that as an Insult, that’s on you I’m afraid. It’s feedback which you can do with whatever you like. I hope you apply it constructively.

THat’s not true. But I’m not going to argue with you.

Pretty sure I said that about 10 posts ago. But you kept going on and on and on.

Have a good life Tah. Ignore is now set to forever. :).

Don’t worry Billy, the most basic of discourse with Tah yesterday resulted in them alleging that I was personally insulting them somehow, so this is honestly quite ironic coming from them - ignorance is probably the best route

They were on a 2 Week Trial ignore which I ended yesterday, and back on ignore straight away.

The problem is, they can’t recognise a difference of opinion and just walk away, and then won’t let you walk away either. Just keeps nagging on and on and on… it really is a headache.

The thing is, I hate ignoring people because I like to understand how other people enjoy the game. It quite often helps me to enjoy mine. But in some cases its unavoidable.

“You’re wrong and I’m done talking about this. Goodbye.” [continues to reply to literally every post thereafter]

Please rate my Tah impression out of 10 I think I captured the intricacies of the role well

Oh it’s a 29.

I agree that not being able to respec is a negative but otherwise I disagree. I really like the new crafting. It’s going to last me a good long while.

There are a lot of people like that on the forums, who feel they need to take on everything you comment in order to force a conversation. They also enjoy basing said behaviour on this being a forum where people communicate and them just providing

when they, in fact, are a sucker for your emotional reaction to their attitude of singling you out while other people have presented the exact same opinion as you did before. Stop replying and withdraw your attention even if it’s hard.

Don’t worry, hard /ignore, won’t be removing that one again.

The passive aggressive attitude was oozing from that post.

Anyway… On topic: This profession system is convoluted imo and the recipes require too much specific hoops to jump through.
I don’t know if the people for whom its intended mostly; the ones who actually like to get stuck in with professions, can appreciate this.

The points not being respeccable is fine with me.
The points being given on a weekly basis is fine with me.

You’re right (even though your remark was probably not meant for me, it’s what I should have done). But when they keep giving little pokes even after saying ‘I’m ignored forever’ then that’s just triggering. It’s childish behaviour, honestly.

I suppose it’s entirely subjective, but I agree

I’m not fan of the new crafting revamp either. All they had to do with old profs is to make sure you can craft hc gear without raiding that is it.

I’m on a busy realm and had a quest to complete five orders for tailoring. I had to get a friend to put some orders on for me in the end.

It may be fine at max taiiloring but atm it’s a nightmare.

The only monumental failure was the inscription weapons not being usable with a matrix which is still not fixed and this post. L

I like it, enjoying it a lot.
There’s only so many professions so if your guild covers them you can just use the guild only work order section then just drop it in the chat or in your discord that you’ve got a guild order up. Altho with a region wide AH already existing I agree it should be region wide.

I think there’s something cool for learning recipes from specializations for some professions, like the blacksmithing shield I made for myself but I can imagine this isn’t the case for all specializations across every profession.

The main thing to consider is what you’ll level first tho, I wish I could go back and undo the 10 draconium talent points in metallurgy and invest them into the base metallurgy talent for mining but ey its only week two and I’ll likely get more the longer I play.
I’ve already found 3 knowledge items across 4 dirt mounds and I’m not farming dirt mounds, I’m just landing where-ever they pop up on my minimap as I’m flying around doing other stuff.

I can’t speak for others but we’re two weeks in and you’ll likely get those 20 knowledge points as you play the game very shortly, from my experience special nodes (non base nodes, includes rich) have given me more knowledge drops then regular ore nodes.

Agreed. It is unintuitive, convoluted, confusing and above all else punishing! No way to respec is just an unfathomably bad decision from Blizz. The profession system sticks out like a sore thumb among all the good design decisions this expansion.

Crafting orders are stupid. Just make the damn things BoE instead.

HORRIBLE

So how does one get knowledge at a decent clip after having done all the first crafts? I’m not getting mettle now either and as an alchemist I blow through it like toilet paper.

I’d say read that article. I can’t tell you much specific things about alchemy.
If it’s anything like engineering; there’s treasures, an NPC, weeklies, stuff like that.

Well. The system revolves around specialization, but there´s no reasonable way to get the information needed to make an informed choice of what path to take. It is extremely likely you go down a route that you later regret.

With such a (needlessly) complex system you need to be able to respec at a reasonable cost, at the very least.

Crafted gear is not supposed to compete directly with loot from Raid and M+…

It’s just a bad luck prevention mechanic. Yes you can get some good gear using your profession (or a work order) but this will be possible only after you had some raid or M+ runs.

That’s the intent of the new system.

That’s really more that people aren’t using Public orders much at all, since you need to fill in mats for those. Which IMO is stupid.
