A rebellion or using Thunder Bluff as a rebel hub would feel iffy until 9.0 still I reckon. Though oatch 9.0 could still offer up a lot of curve-balls.
I donât think itâs that iffy for rebels to naturally flock to Thunder Bluff.
While itâs debatable how common being a rebel should be, certainly if youâre character has a grudge against the way Sylvanas is running things, surely itâs better to reside in Thunder Bluff where you know that you are at least in the same area as a leader who is opposed to her instead of hanging around Orgrimmar where your view point isnât going to be welcome.
Turning it into some staging ground for a rebellion however is way too early, we donât know what is going to happen next and there has been no mention of them gearing up for anything as of yet.
I donât know why Thrall is worried, the rebellion RP started months and months ago on AD. Baine just needs to let Sylvanas know that he doesnât accept character death ASAP
Cool idea though, much more thematic than doing [grunts] damn the lich queen⌠RP in the Wyvernâs Tail / allows people to focus on the niche they prefer
It started almost a year ago really, with the release of âWarbringers: Syvlanasâ and âold soldierâ . Overnight switching camps happened in Tirisfal at your campaign it was grim.
Yeah, itâs a bit yeesh to be honest. Thereâs not even been any large scale out-right dissent yet. At best it should be kept to mumblings, though I imagine itâll slowly change in 2.5.
You do know the only way into Mulgore by foot is through the gate right? There is no path âfrom the Northâ to march through. Itâs important to me that you know this.
I thought there was a path via Stonetalon Mountains? Isnât that how the Grimtotem get through at the end of the Mulgore chain post-Cata? Could be misremembering tbh.
There also isnât a path from Felwood to Darkshore but Sylvanas found one, so all things are possible.
Found a citation on my Stonetalon comment from the quest âWar Danceâ:
"The Grimtotem were offered mercy in exile, and they have scarred their own home to spite us. They will no longer be tolerated in Mulgore.
Iâve already sent our warriors ahead to drive them out through Stonetalon Pass, to the north. You have fought bravely against the Grimtotem, I ask that you join the battle again. Go, and help deal this final blow."
I only remember it because I thought it was weird that the Stonetalon pass exists because thatâs how the Grimtotem got their raids into Mulgore, but you canât actually use it in-game.
Since the story is pretty much at a slow pace, Iâll hang fire and see what goes down in the next act of the war campaign. It would be a bit too early for me to head to Thunder Bluff now and prepare for the imminent threat.
Besides that, Thunder Bluff is and has always been a great place for roleplay. Perhaps the best major city for Horde gamers. Ask anyone!
I went to check out the place and the Stonetalon Pass doesnât actually lead to Stonetalon. It leads to a dead end in the mountains adjacent to Desolace.
While you could maybe get Ser Twenty of House Goodmen to scale the mountain, in the context of besieging Thunder Bluff itâs not really a plan thatâll work out for you.
The only way to bring an army into Mulgore to siege Thunder Bluff is through the gate.
I also browsed through The Shattering real quick and the Grimtotem didnât come from outside, they were already in Mulgore. Their presence was cautiously tolerated until their overnight undertaking.
What I am curious about, is how Sylvanas will really react. Cause if you tell Nathanos about the rescue, then later, he literally CONFIRMS that Sylvanas knew before-hand that they would come, and that they would escape alive.
She knew, and planned for it.
Dammit Telaryn, why do you know so much. It makes me sick.
Iâm not arguing that itâs a great way to get an army in though, mountain paths never are, but if there is another path to get into Mulgore then thatâs a route for your top lads to get in and cause some hell behind enemy lines.
Unlike in Darkshore though, the Tauren are aware of the pass and knowing that there is a likely invasion would be highly unlikely to leave it undefended. So doubt it would be used.
Thunder Bluff was built to withstand an attack from the land. A million men could have marched on these walls, and a million men would have been repelled. But, an attack from the air, with dragonfire⌠mm-mm
~Tywin Lannister
Twilight Highlands showed us how easy it is to drop an airship from the sky. Even without drakes it only took some mad lads on gryphons to make an entire fleet of airships unable to operate.
