kinda sums up dracthyr as a whole
Notā¦ really? You had to make a conscious decision to roll a Drac (unless somelne is holding a gun to your head, I guess )
Dracthyr are a āWe have dragonkin at homeā ahh race
Given the liklihood of getting Drakonid or Dragonspawn as playable was a big fat Zero, Iāll take what we did get very happily, and gripe about visages til kingdom come.
Drakonid, until dracthyr came around, were not a 0% chance race.
Also, I want options to make other race visages, like night elf or gnome.
Also, I want night elf worgen. It just makes sense.
Also, I want Gnomegen, itās bieng worked on in-universe.
Yes, please. For the love of God, please just add this instead of Harannir or whatever. It was a mistake to give them only the male Blood Elf and female Human visage forms to start with.
Like the Worgen Druid from Emberthalās visage quest! Netheril Swiftstream!
Kinda anoyying they keep showing Night Elf Worgen, yet we cannot make one for ourselves
People wanted a draconid race for ages, and finally they got
this
Man in rubber suit (man in rubber suit does not come with armor).
It does come with armour!.. Very specific armour.
And a belt. And shoulders.
Bleh.
But yeah round eared, non scaled visage would be great. I donāt like the way the scales look so try to blend them as much as I can.
First time Iām hearing of it, I guess.
Also, sure, mog options for Dracās could be better. But also the armour options they get are pretty decent, and do people really think Drakonid (which would have had to be scaled down to Tuaren size at maximum, mark you) would have had it any better?
Absolutely. I harp on it a lot, but dracthyr just look plain wrong compared to the style of everything around them, like some sort of kitbash mod race from a private server. When they pop up in upcoming patch trailers I always do a double take at how out of place they feel.
Like what if the baseline human model was the lanky, stooped over kul tiran option and they could only wear the starting shirt on their chest slot?
I think weāll have to agree to disagree I adore both my Dracs and am contemplating making a third, so our opinions seem to be polar opposites haha.
We can at least agree the Mog āoptionsā for them are pretty woeful right now, and Blizz really need to up their game on mogs, glyphs, and all the customisation they said was important and coming (Emotes WHEN, huh??)
I donāt really think dracthyr look out of place.
However I wouldāve rather seen (smaller) playable drakonid, itās not like it hasnāt been done with other races before either.
Just look at the Highmountain NPCs in Highmountain versus the Highmountain playable model.
Big size difference
We know the devs track record, though - why give something players want when you can just pulls something entirely new?
-turns and stares at how Allied Races were handled and at Void Elves especially-
Omg is that Spyro?
Itās the Spyro we have at home.
Drac are just another one of those race you know will have no impact whatsoever on the stage past their released expansion.
And yes, while fitting in the universe, theyāll just somewhat feel goofier than most.
Because blizz canāt be trusted to make serious themes believable after some (MoP) point. It was the same with the vulpera, a people (or two if we count the Kul Tiran ones) of gritty survivors, resourceful and not afraid of getting their hands dirty, all reduced to a cutie with Dolly and Dot. Itās the same here, where a race of soldiers with abilities that were until recently considered just beyond mortals is either fading into oblivion or does anything except trying to apply their draconic upbringing and military discipline to the chaos of the world around.
The race description when selecting might as well be false advertising. What they tell and what is are drastically different.
Obligatory windrunner sisters enjoying round ears:
