Puzzling Cartel Chip Update

It fixes nothing.

These tokens are still only relevant for mythic raiders.

Like any M+ player will bother getting HC raid items when we are over halfway through the season and they are almost decked out in 678 vault gear and 675 crafted already.

Mindbaffling stuff from blizzard here.

Why on gods green eath didnt they just make them like they were in DF season 4, it worked perfectly.

Please stop this madness and gave leadership to someone competent. End time gate bul**hit nobody like that, and gave us doubloons/bullions/cartel chips like in DF S4, and gave minimum 1 per week and you can buy every item and upgrade it to max ilvl.

This time gating is getting ridiculous, paying 1month for 4 days fun in month because of time gate

There’s some definite flaws like mythic plus items not being included which i think is a big mistake. Locking them behind specific raid bosses is fine in my opinion i think a lot of people think the dinar system is supposed to be like the fated seasons ones, but its supposed to be a bad luck protection system not a free hand me out, If you weren’t mythic raiding before and would have never have got the trinket without dinars what makes you entitled to think you should be given it for free now? Big mistake blizzard made was naming it a dinar system when it was never meant to be that.

Btw, this system would be fine in ANY OTHER SEASON (other than S3/S4 Sl with jailor weapon I guess).
But the last 3 as so stacked on gear this season that it’s insane.

If you wanna experiment with something, how about you experiment a game where you’re not forced to do the other mode to be competitive in the other? It’s even worse than the previous iteration. You’re missing what your game is about and what the majority of your playerbase is interested in. The amount of key pushing raiders who need bad-luck-protection in miniscule and after you’ve cleared the raid, keys are the only place where gear is relevant. This caters to practically no one.

While bad-luck-protection was one feature of dinars, the reason they were celebrated was because m+ players gained access to key items for their game mode. Yes, the difference is small and not relevant to most people, but the feeling of being intentionally left out of the loop makes no sense.

You’ve got solutions here. Either make dinars the same way they’ve been previously, separate the m+ and raid gear in a similar way to PvP-scaling, or unlock the mythic track for dinars by some m+ treshold. Anything else is just a spit in the face of your community.

Enjoy your little experiment I guess. Not everyone will come back once you realize your mistake too late.

Thanks for the Turbo Boost event, I think it’s a great addition.
I like the concept of a bad luck protection for certain chase items after the season has progressed a bit. Maybe an alternative way of implementing this next season would be to juice our 3rd vault slot after a couple of weeks to have a better chance of generating a high value item for a character.

No, you don’t understand that. there are many people who are not interested in raids, but are interested in m+. and your idiotic system is such that some of the best things for m+ are obtained in a completely different type of content that is not interesting to these players, and, moreover, requires a huge amount of time. and these are exactly the mythical things, not the heroic ones that you suggest wearing here. Moreover, heroic things also require playing completely different content that the player is simply not interested in. and you, with a tenacity worthy of better use, have been trying for years to get people to play content they don’t like. instead of changing the content itself so that these people are interested in it.

so we are delaying visions and the duos event and now we also dont let people get the items they want. this patch could have been a banger but I guess not.

This shows how hard you can fail even thou the original way has been deemed working and adding some spice to the gameplay.

Soooo what was the reason you ended up deciding to demolish a working feature ? Was it invented by “wrong person” ? Was it because it was loved by “non high level mythic players/raiders” ? OR was it because it was actually fun and and something new players loved ?

And could the community be informed the persons behind this decision ? Its hard to belive that ALL people in the development department wanted to demolish loved and liked feature ?

As a player who will play mythic raid every single meta I wanna say: If u want to push ppl into mythic raid, please stop these nonsense reward tricks.
For normal players it’s hard to form a team really with suitable time and skill for like 20 ppl. Just stop the lock on for 20 ppl so we can have more chance to try on specific boss every single CD. For 90% player who can not play m6 m7 m8 and for those 10% who can this Dinor reward both makes no sense

As a m+ focused player, I got used to be viewed in the eyes of Blizzard as inferior version of a player as compared to mythic raiding elite.

This season changes this as I will now feel inferior not only to mythic raiding elite, but also those rich enough to buy mythic boosts.

The ultimate winners of your new “dinar” system, however are not even mythic raiders, but are the mythic boosters, who gonna make millions of gold out of it, until a number of active players drops low enough.

I feel like a dog that’s been thrown a bone.

Locking out everyone except the ones clearing Mythic raid which is still under the absolute useless raid ID lockout system so its the worst nightmare if you’re not in a very good guild to begin with.

I guess I can use the chips as a decoration in my player house in the future cause I cannot buy anything I need with them even if that was the idea.

Happy boosting you mythic raiders as you’ll own 90% of the WoW gold after this boosting bonanza thats incoming.

So as per my previous concerns, it still stands that this doesn’t address transparency.

We were not informed that this was an experiment which could have also been communicated earlier that you were going to be experimenting with Dinars this time round - AND not to mention, how this still impacts M+ players who only end up doing the Normal raid and nothing more (even though fully capable of doing higher level content but simply not having interest, a guild or the time to raid) still being punished with trinkets in M+ (which has been a running theme throughout the entirety of M+) that the trinkets are substantially weaker than raid obtained trinkets? Perhaps the raid trinkets and M+ trinkets need to be of similar power in order to avoid these issues continuously?

Also, this simply now further drives people to actually purchase WoW Tokens and is theoretically a Pay2Win system (as well as people who simply play the Auction House and have abused previous systems i.e. Garrison/Mission tables to be wealthy enough to carry them through the game for x amount of years and I am well aware of MANY of these people), those boosting communities will now charge even more for those who do want raid items and will sky rocket their prices MID season (something that is inherently not the “norm” as prices of Raid Boosts (for gold) drop after the first month of a new Raid release. Baffling that you would even call this a “Turbo Boost” in the first place, reinforcing these communities to profit even more off of people who don’t care about raiding and just want the chance of loot…

I’m still utterly disappointed in this.

“Hey guys, we polished the turd, it’s still the same turd but now shiny!”

The excuse to not give 680+ trinkets is so contradicting when we have specs that are still using a 658 ring from previous content in BiS over a myth track ring from current content.

I’m sorry but this has to be the most out of touch implementation of a system since the original covenant system back in Shadowlands and is one big giant middle finger to every player doing +6 - +15 keys without raiding Mythic. (which is probably 85-90% of active players this far into the season).

I’m just baffled…

you do not speak for every player. I only raid Heroic and couldn’t care less that i’m not getting free Mythic loot.

what a convenient turn of events for your bottom line blizz, suddenly the whales might feel more obligated to buy 5 wow tokens at once and pay for a mythic clear. You really aren’t subtle in your methods for encouraging people to spend more money on an already expensive game.
