The last few Blizzcons were just dull.

Props on charging people through the nose to be marketed at.
I’m starting to suspect those days as over though.
A surprise for sure, but not an unwelcome one.
I have to say I was all but certain that Blizzcon was a thing of the past. I’m glad that it isn’t, with the caveat that it depends on how it goes.
Because I have to say that I can’t quite feel it right now. But 2026 is also some time away.
I assume that if there is a Blizzcon, it’s because there is a major announcement.
It’s not WoW is it, because it’ll be in the middle of Midnight and we already know that The Last Titan is a thing. Would it be too soon to reveal what comes after The World Soul Saga? Maybe?
There’s the speculated open-world StarCraft FPS game that’s been in development for some time. It would have to be that. But why not just announce that during Microsoft’s Xbox showcase? As is often said, then Blizzcon is essentially WoWcon. Are all those WoW fans at Blizzcon going to be excited about a StarCraft announcement? I am inclined to say no. So my feeling that maybe Blizzard will announce what comes after The World Soul Saga is closer to that they probably will – because otherwise they kind of snuff the main audience that goes to Blizzcon.
Cool either way, but still…I kind of feel like Blizzcon is not that big of a thing anymore. The whole eSport scene that used to culminate at Blizzcon is basically dead and gone - as are the games that carried it. And the other Blizzard games don’t have the same kind of big development cycles that WoW has with its expansions. So what’s it going to be, an announcement of the next Diablo IV Season and Overwatch 2 patch?
And I’m not sure if Blizzcon for the sake of having a community event is going to cut it. I didn’t really get the impression that it was a massive hit last time, so…
But we’ll see. I’ll of course tune in, and I’ll look forward to seeing what Blizzard has been working on. As well as how much Microsoft Xbox is going to be a part of Blizzcon now. Because I cannot imagine anything else than Blizzcon now also being a venue for showcasing Xbox games and Xbox Game Pass and so on.

I still remember the blizzcon where they announced Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 and WoW Cata together. For me, that was the best, ever. The others are just meh.
Best thing about diablo 3 were that it had witch doctor, worst thing about diablo 4 were that it didnt have witch doctor. Didnt even bother buying the game then. Unforgivable leaving out something as crucial as witch doctor.
That is interesting. Some big announcement maybe? 
BlizzCon has never been my cup of tea, nevertheless, I’m glad it’s back.
