PvP will be dead in the near future

You don’t need to use arena123 for everything, maybe just get 3 additional keybinds rolling for arena123 interrupts and do the rest with target/focus macros. I feel like arena123 interrupts are essential to the game rn, especially with how short cast times have become on clone etc., you mostly can’t swap target/re-focus the boomer and interrupt him in time.

At least if you play a class with a ranged interrupt. Less important as a warrior.

I’m just focusing on DH for now and the range is so pathetic on kick I find it easier to click the target and kick normally if there is time to get close with fel rush or whatever

I press shift and ctrl with my left hand, since those buttons are next to each other, been doing that since wotlk, so it feels natural for me.

Started to incorporate the alt key during SL, when I needed more keybinds and started to use arena123 more, but pressing alt feels super awkward to me and I cba getting used to it, so I bound alt to the button below my mouse wheel. I’m using a razer deathadder, been using that style of mouse for forever and it has 2 dpi switches below mouse wheel. I bound both of them to something else and the upper one ended up being the alt modifier. Just have to take my finger of the mousewheel real quick and boom, full set of new keybinds unlocked. I suppose if you have a 2 button mouse, you could also use the mouse 4 and 5 buttons as modifiers, but I’ve been using those for interrupts and trinkets for the longest time, so I’m not gonna change that ever. If I was starting fresh, I would prolly consider doing that.

i actually think DF S1 had really really high participation. In general also right now ques are pretty decent after mmr inflation.

DF S1 had way less r1 titles in 3v3 than SL S1, eventhough alts weren’t counted back then. Solo Shuffle is kinda the saving grace for PvP at this point. Sure, without shuffle 3v3 would be more active, but did shuffle take away as much activity from 3v3, as it provided for PvP in general? I’d assume not.

of course, shuffle killed 3s participation and SL S1 was during peak covid haha.
overall pvp participation is kinda okay though.

Yea tbh queue times aren’t as bad as they used to be, but I am pretty sure they are bugged…If the average queue time is 14 min and I’m in que for 15-16 min, I requeue and get que within a minute or two usually. That just doesn’t seem right. I should be back at the end of the queue and wait another 14-15 min. Somethings wrong with it and it’s not just the lack of the healers, I’m talking about the actual programming of it

Nah. Just let PvP (Arena) die finally and maybe work towards RBG being the main attention.

The Game shouldnt suffer because of a very vocal minority that does PvP.

bg players are obviously the minority. Nobody cares about battleground or rated battlegrounds thats why they are so empty.

My bad, the couple thousands left playing PvP are definitely not a minority.

compared to the 5 players that actually enjoy rbgs they are not the minority no.

Hence why they should work on RBG rather than Arena. A 6v6 or working on 10v10 without the necessarity of a tank would be a lot more accesible for players in general since mistakes are harder punished with more players around.

world content and bgs

Blizzard and wow have such bad reputation after the years of horribad treatment that I dont think this will help. Nobody trusts a company that keeps lying all the time. I think that DF is the perfect example of this. DF itself isnt even bad. Systems are fine and convenient finally, except shuffle thats fundamentaly disfunctional. It didnt sell at all. Sure its woke theme wasnt exactly a good hook for a war related gameing community at first place, but if you look at any discussions, forums, ratings of blizzad games, its all just extremely negative. They sacrificed wows legacy and name for short term money grabs:X I cant see a way to renew the game or trust anywhere in near future.
And pruning, I say yes, prune the game. They added everything to everybody, so pvp is a huge mess. The problem is that I think pve players like having everything on every class, so I doubt they will change it for the few ppl, who care about pvp. If its true that wow has 1,2m subs worldwide, exclude bots and a wild guess its like 1/10 ppl care about pvp at best, I wouldnt be surprised if they let pvp die completely to save themselves the trouble and keep this “small” game pve only.

Yeah I did say later on in this exchange that I’d forgotten about that haha
My bad

I think a lot of people play random battlegrounds, unless you have some data?
Pretty sure rbg is 200 people max though agreed.

On topic : I don’t think a lot can be made to be honest. DF is genuinely good, gearing is fine and classes are pretty fun. BfA/SL we thought it was because gearing was awful (and it was), but in the end it’s just that a lot of us sub a few months here and there to check out new expansion or a patch when they have time and just leave after. I know I do that and I don’t think I’m anything special.

Actually World PvP and BGs are my favorite part of WoW, but I cba playing LFR simulator, running around in circles for 45 minutes being rejected from 30 groups before finally getting accepted into one…so…I’m just waiting 15 min in Solo Shuffle que instead just to get banned for being pissed off when going 0-4 … dude… thinking about it… this game really makes me miserable

As much as I’d hate to say it- the game is wayyyy too complicated, it should go a little calmer for sure. As for totally dumbing it down hear me very carefully Blizzard:
That wont be needed if you make the game more accessible.

Changes should be more centristic in nature, yes fun new things refreshen the game but they also shake the ground it stays on.
Producing new patches and new content shouldnt always involve complete change of playstyle in some classes.
People dont have time to learn.
Addons should be completely pruned and imbeded into the game itself.
How is a new player exactly supposed to deal with this ?
You need a new feature “macro helper” where commands are listed and new players can simply click them to create macros as for new players this is extra stress.
Game needs a total redesign- the leveling process should cover the story in a fun way, where the newer player is intruiged so theyre not being filled with impatience and feeling that they’re missing out for not yet being max level.
Leveling should also teach you the basics of your class, as things are right now leveling is too fast.
There should be more advanced text guides on how to make macros, keybindings, and other settings.
Newer type of Target Dummies should be added. Ones that you can que arena VS and practice things for arena future gameplay. The player should be able to simmulate different situations so he can practice them.
Example:
Dummy is casting a sequence of spells set by the player while moving in selected paths by the said player.
and so on.
PvP is too sweaty, people avoid people for no reason most of the time and requirements are overkill, if you dont have achievements form 10 years ago, goodluck playing the game so with that I want to tell you:
The future is Soloshuffle.
Soloque Rated BGs
Soloque 2v2
Soloque 3v3.
Even though this should be optional, the original 2v2s and 3v3s should keep existing too.

Prune it
Make it easy
Make it fun

Agree with everything here, well said, I would just add that the Target Dummies should be possible to be Arena 1,2,3 too so that you can practice your arena macros on them :stuck_out_tongue:
